Chase wore his "Crabby but Cute" shirt and matching shorts today to Clayton Laptime and looked really cute. Raymond, one of his little friends at Laptime wore the same outfit, and Nanaw took a picture of them together in their matching outfits. Chase was good sitting on Nanaw’s lap during song and story time, and he did his usual running around the room during play time. In the afternoon, Chase and Nanaw went for a walk in Nanaw’s subdivision, and Chase got to touch his favorite bush. Mama and Daddy went to a happy hour after work so Chase stayed at Nanaw’s house until 7:30. During that time, Chase managed to smear his dinner of mac and cheese, peas and carrots all over his high chair, his bib, his face and his hair. Then later, after the food was all cleaned up, he managed to fling milk all over the high chair tray, his bib, the floor, the chairs and counter next to his high chair. Both times, he was very proud of his accomplishments, with big smiles and lots of babbling.

Chase’s first adventure today was a walk in his subdivision in his jogging stroller. His second adventure was a trip to Walmart. Chase’s third adventure was the most fun of all. Chase and Nanaw went to explore a new park, Cliff Cave Park off Telegraph Road. It’s located on the Mississippi River, and Chase and Nanaw walked on the trail along the river. They also walked along the cliffs and went to the overlook by the river. Chase is always really good in the stroller – he seems to enjoy his walks. Mama picked out Sam’s toy of the week – Stretch, the long black dog.

Chase and Nanaw went to Walmart for Chase’s first adventure today. As always, Chase was a hit with customers and workers. Mama didn’t get to see Chase before he fell asleep last night so she sent a note for him in his bag, along with two of his most special books: Owl Babies and Mama Loves Spot. Chase and Nanaw went for a walk in Nanaw’s subdivision, and Chase got to see his favorite bush. Chase’s great accomplishment today was pulling down one of the vertical blinds in his room. Once it was on the floor, he clapped his hands for himself. Fortunately, Uncle Mike was coming over to cut Nanaw’s grass so he was able to fix it. When Uncle Mike got to Nanaw’s house, Chase ran around the living room to entertain Uncle Mike. Chase did a cute thing, picking up Pawpaw’s picture on the coffee table and saying Pawpaw.

Yesterday afternoon when Nanaw came to visit Chase, she found Mama with a cheetah taped to her back, like in the AT&T commercial. Mama bought the cheetah at the zoo and had Daddy tape it to her back. Chase’s first adventure on Tuesday was Laptime at the Telegraph Road library. Laptime was held in a smaller room than usual because of the library’s book sale, and Chase seemed to like having the other boys and girls much closer together. After Laptime, Chase and Nanaw went to find Cliff Cave Park. It was raining so they couldn’t get out and walk around but next time they’ll take the trail that goes along the bank of the Mississippi River. When Chase went home, he got to see Mama’s friends Aunt Kristen and Aunt Theresa, who were going to dinner with Mama. Chase put on quite the act for them and was very entertaining.

Monday, Memorial Day, was another day of adventures for Chase. On the way to the zoo to meet Jackson and his Mama and Daddy, Chase was playing with a plastic Easter egg. He was able to open it, and unbeknownst to Mama and Daddy, it had a chocolate Reese’s egg inside – and Chase had chocolate all over his face. Daddy pulled the car over, and Mama cleaned up Chase. What a wonderful start to Chase’s zoo trip! At the zoo, Chase and Jackson went into the children’s petting zoo and had fun with the goats and the chickens. They also played in the little play house and rode on the merry-go-round. Mama got to see the elephants, her favorite. All in all, it was a great day at the zoo for Chase and Jackson!

Chase had a day full of adventures on Sunday. Chase, Mama and Daddy went out to Uncle Chris’s and Aunt Kristen’s house for their Memorial Day party. It was the first time Chase and Mama had seen the new baby, Elias James. Mama said Chase seemed to have a wonderful time sitting on the tractor. He kept wanting to "push the button" – one of his favorite things. He also got to see some ducks and ducklings, and he ran around saying "quack-quack, quack-quack."
