Chase’s major adventure on Saturday was going to cousin Brad’s graduation party out in Wentzville with Mama and Nanaw. Chase played with a little 1 ½ year old boy named Harrison. They played with a firehouse and a jail and lots of bee-byes. Chase also played blocks with Mama. He was extremely well-behaved and seemed to have lots of fun with the toys and with Harrison. Nanaw posted a picture of Chase with his cousins Sam and Brad on Facebook. After the party, Nanaw came over to Chase’s house for a wonderfully delicious dinner of grilled steak, grilled corn and Suddenly Salad. After dinner, Mama and Nanaw went to Walmart to buy some "approved play apparel" for Chase so Mama would stop stressing about Chase playing outside in his good clothes.

Chase and Nanaw went for an early morning walk, and then went to Suson Park for the day’s major adventure. Chase seemed really excited to see all the animals. He ran from pen to pen, trying to see all the animals and saying Hi to them. The chickens seemed to be his favorites. After the animals, Chase and Nanaw went to the playground. Chase went down the slides, walked on the ledge, went on the swing and wanted to climb the pretend rock wall. Nanaw would not let him climb the wall because it was for older children. For lunch, Chase had more of the Thai House food, then took a long nap. In the evening, Mama and Daddy went to the baseball game with Uncle Mike and Aunt Becky, so Nanaw got to babysit with Chase. For dinner, Chase had leftover pizza that Mama brought home for him from her dinner / baby shower Thursday night at Happy Joe’s. At Chase’s house, he sat on the sofa with his caterpillar book and caterpillar and pretended to read it to himself --very cute.

Chase and Nanaw went for an early morning walk in Nanaw’s subdivision, and Chase took his Army helicopter that says "Fire, fire." After their walk, they went to the health food store on Lindbergh for Nanaw’s vitamins and then to Walmart. When they drove onto the Walmart parking lot, Chase immediately said, "Ride school bus, please?" Nanaw said yes he could ride after they did their shopping. Nanaw wanted to buy another little Thomas the Train for Chase but Walmart didn’t have one so she bought another little train for Chase, which he seemed to really like. Then on the way out of Walmart, Nanaw forgot about the school bus and Chase started to cry. Nanaw didn’t know why he was crying, then remembered the school bus – as had Chase, evidently. So he got his ride on the school bus and that seemed to make him really happy. After Chase’s nap, he and Nanaw went downstairs, and Chase watched the phonics DVD and played with his flash cards. He also played with the Thomas the Train table and his big train layout. He’s quite the train lover!

Chase and Nanaw had an unusual adventure today. It was Great-grandmother Marge’s birthday today – she would have been 105. Nanaw heard a newscast about the terrible condition of Oak Grove cemetery so Nanaw decided to go clean off her parents’ grave today and put flowers on their graves. While Nanaw worked, Chase sat in his stroller next to Nanaw and played happily with a bunch of sticks she gave him. Chase fell asleep on the ride home but still took a 3 ½ hour nap. After his nap, he had lunch and then he and Nanaw went out on the upper deck to check on their science project plantings. Nanaw told Chase something might start growing in a few days. Chase did one of his favorite things: playing with toys in the deep bathtub in Pawpaw’s bathroom. In the evening, Chase went to dinner at the Thai House in Columbia with Mama, Daddy and Aunt Becca. Uncle Stan is out of town and Mama was trying to cheer up Aunt Becca by taking her out to eat.

Nanaw’s alarm clock failed to go off this morning, and Mama and Chase had to come wake her up – very funny. So for tomorrow morning, Nanaw set two alarms – better safe than sorry. After breakfast, Chase and Nanaw went for a walk in Nanaw’s subdivision. Next they ran errands – to the bank, to get gas and to the Phone Surgeon store. At the bank, one of the banker fellows offered Chase a cup full of lollipops, and Chase took the whole cup instead of just one lollipop. Very funny. Nanaw took one lollipop for Chase. Rather than licking it, he crunched it. At the phone store, Chase got sort of fussy and even Nanaw’s iPhone didn’t settle him down. After his nap, Chase and nanaw did their science projects: planting the tomato and grass seed things that Mama gave Nanaw for Mother’s Day and putting the rain gauge in the front yard. Then they went downstairs, and Nanaw took Chase outside to play on the lower deck. But he wanted to go inside and play with the big train set.

Chase’s adventure today was going out to Grandma Pat’s house to see Aunt Ginny and Aunt Kate and their children who were visiting from Tennessee. Mama says Chase seemed to have fun climbing in and out of a canoe in the back yard, and then bouncing a ball all around the kitchen. Mama read the darling caterpillar board book that Aunt Patty gave Chase. In the afternoon, Nanaw went to visit Chase when he woke up from his nap. He’s still not feeling well and was sort of fussy. He played with Nanaw’s iPhone and iPod and then with Daddy’s iPhone. He went to sit with Daddy and they played Angry Birds – very cute.

Mama called Nanaw to tell her Chase was up from his nap in late afternoon, and Nanaw should come visit. They played in the living room for a little while, and Nanaw got to see Chase’s singing school bus and the airplanes that Daddy bought for Chase in Destin. Mama demonstrated to Nanaw Chase’s new behavior of making choices. Mama asked Chase if he wanted milk or juice, and Chase said, "Ummmm – milk." Mama and Nanaw did it several more times with other choices, and he always started out by saying, "Ummmm." Very cute. Mama, Daddy, Chase and Nanaw went outside, and Chase played with the shells and sand he’d brought back from Destin. Then he played with all his bubble equipment, including Thomas and the bubble leaf blower. Next, Mama, Daddy, Chase, Sam and Nanaw went for a walk in Chase’s neighborhood. For dinner, Chase had some of Mama’s fried rice from China Star, the new Chinese restaurant in Marketplace. Mama said he really seemed to like the fried rice.
