Tuesday's adventure for Chase was a trip to the Telegraph Road library for watercolor painting. The best part was that his little friend Riley was also there -- with her baby brother Ethan. Riley goes to the programs at the Columbia Library. Her Mama said she might be at Story Time on Thursday also. Chase had a great time with painting. There were three watercolor painting stations: one that had crayons and watercolor palettes; one that had watercolors in cups with eyedroppers; and one that had bowls of watercolor paint. Chase went to all of the stations and to two of them twice. The children wore paint shirts to protect their clothes -- Miss Kim said the watercolors were washable, and that the paint shirts were just for extra protection. After the watercolor session, Chase and Nanaw went to the children's section of the library. Chase played on the computer and played with the puzzles and the games. There was a little girl playing there, and Chase said "Hi. My name is Chase. What's your name?" She told him her name was Melinda. Her Mama said what a friendly little boy Chase is. Chase also played with a little boy named Jack. At home, Nanaw put batteries in some walky-talkies she bought a long time ago for Uncle Mike's children. The walky -talkies didn't work very well but Chase thought they were fine. Nanaw is going to get out the good walky-talkies and let Chase play with them on Wednesday.

Daddy had the day off today so he brought Chase over to Nanaw's house around 10 this morning. Chase's adventure for the day was going to Movers and Shakers at the Columbia Library. It was a full house today with about 10 boys and girls. Miss Angie wasn't there today, and Miss Annette was filling in for her. Chase seemed happy to see Miss Annette, who had been his Babygarten teacher for two years. Chase was rather rowdy and rambunctious at Movers and Shakers, along with a couple of the other children. He was anxious to get out to the playground. Chase and Nanaw played on the playground for a long while but still Chase didn't want to leave. He got into one of the tunnels along with a little girl and told Nanaw he wanted to stay at the playground with his friends -- it was very cute. When he woke up from his nap, the first thing he said is "I want to go play in my sandbox with Daddy." Nanaw took Chase home and when he got there, he told Daddy he wanted to go play in his sandbox. Daddy said that's probably where Chase was going to spend his whole summer.

Chase went to Sunday School on Sunday morning. It was a momentous time because Nanaw left him there without her. It's the first time he's been away from her or his parents or other grandma. And the Sunday School teacher said he did wonderfully. She said he played by himself for a few minutes then when he heard everyone singing, he came to be with them. One of the little boys there, an eight-year-old named Alex, decided he really liked Chase -- he said Chase was awesome and that he wanted him to come back to Sunday School. All the children got Easter baskets and Chase was delighted with him and ate most of the candy right away. Chase did something funny when he and Nanaw got home from Sunday School. Nanaw was in the bathroom with the door locked (because Chase now knows how to open doors), and Chase was outside banging on the door and trying to get in. When Nanaw opened the door, there was Chase with his box of play tools, trying to open the door with his tools -- it was very funny. In the afternoon, Chase and Nanaw went out to Stefanina's in Wentzville to have lunch with Nanaw's friends Betty and Joyce. Chase behaved himself wonderfully and was very entertaining. When Nanaw took Chase home, Daddy was back from his fishing trip and Mama was back from Aunt Kristin's baby shower. He was very excited to see the present Daddy bought for him -- he looked outside and saw the sandbox and said, "You bought me a special." That's his new way of saying present. In the evening, he did some finger painting, and Mama says he seemed to have a really good time.

Nanaw was very excited to see Chase when Mama brought him over to her house on Saturday morning because he was going to have a sleepover at Nanaw's house. Mama was spend the day and night with Aunt Becca so she also brought along Sam to spend the night with Chase and Nanaw. In the afternoon, Chase and Nanaw went to Faust Park to see the historic village, which was very interesting. Chase played on the playground first and as usual didn't want to leave to go see the village. For dinner, they went to Chase's favorite place: McDonald's. Chase's toy in his Happy Meal was the figure of Oh from the new movie Home -- Chase was delighted with him and slept with Oh and carried him around with him the rest of the weekend. Nanaw gave Chase a bath before bed, and Chase did something funny. Nanaw was running the bath water, and she turned around to get the bubble bath out of the cabinet, and when she turned back to the bath tub, Chase had gotten in with his clothes on -- fortunately, he didn't have his shoes on -- it was quite the hoot. Nanaw also kept Chase up past his bedtime -- he's so much fun it's difficult to let him go to sleep.

Daddy brought Chase over to Nanaw's house in the morning, before he left for his weekend fishing trip in Arkansas. Chase's adventure for Friday was a trip to Powder Valley. It was still a bit chilly outside so there was no walking on the trails for Chase and Nanaw. Once again, there were lots of other children visiting Powder Valley, and that made Chase very happy -- he seems to love following after little boys and girls. He spent a lot of time playing with both sets of puppets -- very cute. He wanted Nanaw to have a puppet show so they used the eagle, the squirrel and the cat for the show. Chase went into the library and said it was his library -- everything seems to belong to him. Also once again, Chase constantly used his new favorite phrase: "I don't think so." Mama and Nanaw can't figure out where he learned it. He uses it instead of "I not want to do dat." In the evening, Chase and Mama had a date night together. First, they had pizza for dinner. Then they used the Mama's new popcorn popper to make lots of yummy popcorn. Next, they played Chase's favorite board game -- the Richard Scarry game. Lastly, they watched a Thomas the Train movie -- Misty Island Adventure. Mama kept Chase up until 10 o'clock -- very unusual for her.
