Nanaw went to Chase's house for dinner on Sunday evening. When Nanaw got there, Chase was out in the back yard playing with Mama while Daddy grilled steaks. Chase played with Nanaw outside for a few minutes, then took Nanaw inside to play in his room. He wanted to play "pretend sleep" on his bed. He had Nanaw put the big stuffed animals from his "pile" on his bed, then bury him with the animals -- very funny. At one point, Chase plugged in his night light and turned off the overhead light -- later, Mama told Nanaw that Chase is not supposed to plug in the night light by himself. Chase had Lunchables pizza for dinner and had a great time putting the baby pizzas together all by himself. After dinner, Mama, Daddy and Nanaw watched the Inside Out movie that Nanaw checked out of the library. Chase played with his toys in the living room and didn't pay much attention to the movie.

Saturday, January 30, 2016

Chase had a major, extra-special adventure on Saturday: Mama and Daddy took him to a huge train show at the St. Charles Convention Center. They invited Nanaw to go too. When chase first saw the train displays, he said "Oh, wow!" with wide eyes. The displays were amazing, with all kinds of trains, cars, houses, buildings, people -- just totally amazing. They had lots of train-related things for sale -- Chase got a Hot Wheels Corvette and a Thomas the Train Samson with dinosaurs. He rode on the little handcars and had a great time. At first, he said he didn't want to ride on them but then he changed his mind. His favorite thing was a race track with a police car chasing a race car. Daddy promised that they could go back and see it again, and they did. This time, the race car was off the track and only the police car was racing around the track but Chase didn't seem to mind. On the way home they stopped at McDonald's and got food and took it back to Nanaw's house to eat. Chase got a Happy Meal and the toy inside was a pair of Penguin binoculars -- very cute.

Friday, January 29, 2016

After school on Friday, Chase and Nanaw went to the Train House. At first, Chase said he didn't want to go -- he wanted to go to Nanaw's house and play with his color-changing cars. But Nanaw told him he could play with the color-changing cars when they got home from the Train House. Miss Linda was very happy, as always, to see her friends Chase and Nanaw. There was a good group at the Creation Station, and Chase seemed to have lots of fun. He played on the Thomas tables for a long while, then in the kitchen. He spent a lot of time playing with the wooden blocks, the ones that worry Nanaw because they're so heavy and dangerous. After the Creation Station, Chase got his popcorn, and then they went home. Chase played with the color-changing cars before his nap and went to bed very reluctantly. In fact, the whole day was a series of episodes of Chase fussing and crying because he wanted to do something other than what Nanaw had planned for him. After his nap, he played with the color-changing cars both before and after dinner. Nanaw kept Chase till about 7:30 so that Mama and Daddy could go to the last happy hour at Harry's, which is closing. Mama invited Nanaw to go with them to a train show on Saturday at the St. Charles Convention Center so Chase should really enjoy that.

Thursday. January 28, 2016

Chase had several adventures on Thursday. His first adventure was the main one: He and Nanaw went out to lunch with two of Nanaw's friends, Kate and Kelly. Nanaw used to work with them, and they're very dear friends of hers. When Chase and Nanaw got to the restaurant, Chase gave Kate and Kelly high fives -- it was very cute. Once again, Nanaw ordered a hot fudge sundae for Chase's lunch. She always does that at California Pizza Kitchen. He also had lemonade. Kate said he was so good they hardly knew he was there. When Chase finished his lunch, he watched YouTube Kids on Nanaw's iPad. After lunch, Chase and Nanaw went to Barnes & Noble so Chase could play with the Thomas table. After Barnes & Noble, Chase and Nanaw went to Walmart where Nanaw bought Chase another color-changing car. This one is named Ramone, and he changes from purple in ice water to light blue in hot water. In the evening, Chase had his final adventure of the day. He went to dinner at Bully's BBQ with Mama, Daddy and Nanaw. Chase had grilled cheese, French fries, lemonade and ice cream for dessert.

Wednesday, January 27, 2016

Chase was happy to go to school today. He saw Brady on the parking lot and then again by the lockers. Brady's dad brought him to school today instead of his mom. Nanaw asked Ms. Merz about the Leap Pads, and she said they got several of them after Christmas and the kids really seem to like them. After school, Chase and Nanaw went to Dollar Tree. Chase wanted to go to Walmart and get another color-changing car so he told Nanaw, "You need groceries" in an attempt to get her to go to Walmart. Nanaw told him that in addition to cars at Dollar Tree she was going to get him a new paint set but he said he didn't want a paint set. When they were at Dollar Tree by the paints, Chase told Nanaw, "Walk away from the paints." He's such a funny kid. After Dollar Tree, they did their real adventure of the day -- going to Powder Valley. There were several children there and Chase enjoyed being around them. One little girl came up to Chase and he said, "Hi, little boy." Nanaw told him it was a girl and he said, "Hi, little gril" -- gril is the way he says girl. He had a great time at Powder Valley, visiting all his usual displays. Chase and Nanaw were sorry to see that only two fish were swimming in the big aquarium -- usually there are about a dozen fish there.

Tuesday, January 26, 2016

Before Tuesday's adventure, Chase played on abcmouse and then Chase and Nanaw went downstairs to play with the Army guys. Tuesday's adventure was a new one -- going to the Missouri History Museum in Forest Park. Nanaw read about it online and saw that they were having a story time at 10:30 with a penguin story. When Nanaw and Chase got to the History Museum, they asked for directions and then they got tickets for what's called the History Clubhouse. The History Clubhouse is large area built specifically for children. It has all kinds of displays and history information geared to little children. Nanaw took Chase back to the story time area but he didn't want to go in. Nanaw sat down on one of the stools but chase walked out of the room and down the hall, back the way they'd come. So Nanaw got up and followed him. Just before he got to the entrance, he spotted a table filled with wooden toys -- buildings, cars, trees, and all kinds of things. He was fascinated with the toys and started playing with them. He had a grand time with the buildings and cars -- I told him that one of the buildings -- the purple one -- was the Met Square Building, which was Pawpaw's building. When Chase and Nanaw got home, he played with abcmouse again -- he has 380 tickets so he'll be able to get something really exciting.
