Mama took the day off from work so she could take Nanaw to the doctor for her eye surgery. While Nanaw was having surgery, Mama and Chase went to the Chick Fil A on Manchester Road so Chase could play in their little play area. After Mama and Chase picked Nanaw up, Chase said he wanted to go to a park so Mama suggested Bee Tree Park. They hadn't been there for awhile. After an emergency pit stop for Chase at the rest room, they went to the playground. The playground equipment was new and different from the old playground and very cool. There were three tunnel slides and lots and lots of climbing things. Chase was delighted. He was also delighted because two little boys were there playing. At one point, Chase said to one of the little boys: "That's my Mama and that's my Nanaw." It was very cute. After the playground, Chase, Mama and Nanaw drove down to the lake and walked a little way around it. While they were walking, they passed by a man who was doing bird calls up to the birds in the trees -- very interesting.

Chase was sick to his stomach on Monday morning so he stayed home from school. Mama and Nanaw were worried about Chase throwing up so many times so Nanaw took him to the doctor for a walk-in appointment. The doctor on duty was Dr. Matthew Dougherty, Dr. Charles' son. Nanaw liked him a lot, and maybe someday Chase will change to him. He couldn't find any reason for Chase's throwing up so he recommended that Chase's parents keep a food journal for him to try to see if there's any pattern to Chase throwing up. He also said if they wanted, he could give them a GI referral right away. Mama decided to do the journal. In the afternoon, Chase and Nanaw had a wonderful time watching the Wall-E movie together. Chase, of course, insisted on having popcorn. He also wanted his "amamals" sitting with him. Chase and Nanaw also played hockey and War, and Chase played with the pieces of games from the Chinese checkers set; he invented hockey games with the pieces. He's so creative and cute with inventing games.

On Sunday, Chase and Daddy went out to Wentzville to visit Grandma Pat. While they were gone, Mama went to Rural King and bought Chase a beautiful, big, soft stuffed chicken that Chase named Chase Chicken. Notice how many of his stuffed "amamals" have Chase in their name? In the evening, Nanaw came over for dinner and to watch the Oscars. Mama and Nanaw went to Kentucky Fried Chicken (now to be called KFC because of Chase Chicken) to get a "bucket 'o chicken. Chase had popcorn chicken, and Nanaw had yummy wings. Nanaw gave Chase his "bash" early, before the Oscars started. They played color-changing cars for a long while, then Daddy came in to "pour water over Chase's head." That's what Chase calls it when his hair gets washed. Nanaw selected his yellow minion jammies because those are her favorite. After Chase's bath, everyone went downstairs to watch the Oscars. Daddy let Chase play with his iPad. Daddy and Chase lay together on the sofa, playing with the iPhone and the iPad. It was very cute. On Saturday, Nanaw took a picture of Uncle Mike's and Aunt Becky's new truck -- it's the last photo below.

Saturday, February 25, 2017

When Nanaw went to visit chase on Saturday morning, he was sitting at the kitchen table with Daddy spelling words with his alphabet letters -- it was very cute to watch. He spelled Chase and Mama and recognized the word Sam. He's growing up so fast. Nanaw wishes it would slow down a little. After he got dressed, Chase and Nanaw played hockey in the hall -- he loves playing hockey. Then they went downstairs and played tic-tac-toe. Chase loves playing all kinds of games and is very competitive. Next they played with his Thomas Sky High Bridge Jump. When Nanaw left, Chase and Daddy went out into the back yard to play with Chase's new field hockey set. In the afternoon, Mama, Daddy, Chase, Uncle Will-Bill and cousin Alexander went to the Billikens basketball game. In the evening, Mama, Daddy and Chase went to Joe, Jen and Jackson's house for a Mardi Gras party. So Chase had a fun-filled Saturday.

Unfortunately, Nanaw forgot to set her alarm Thursday night and overslept. Fortunately, Mama was right on the case and got Chase to school on time. Mama said Tyler was lying on the back of the chair in the living room, watching for Nanaw, who never came. Chase was disappointed that Nanaw didn't get to see his mismatched socks that he wore to school (it was crazy socks day for him because he turned in a lot of box tops in a school fund raising project). But Mama told him he would get to show Nanaw his mismatched socks when she picked him from school. Mama gave Chase a picture from the Kansas City trip to take to school for his class discussion about Kansas City. Chase was very excited when the teacher put it up on the smart board. Nanaw was very apologetic to Mama for not taking Chase to school but Mama was very sweet and understanding about it. Nanaw wrote a note for her nightstand to remind herself about always setting the alarm and sent the photo to Mama (the first photo below). Unfortunately, Nanaw forgot to take pictures of Chase for Days of Chase and asked Mama to take a photo Friday evening. Mama did -- she took two photos, one of Chase posing and one of his mismatched socks. (the second and third photos below). After school, Nanaw picked up Chase, and they went to the post office and Dollar Tree, where Chase got a hula hoop, a bat and ball, a basketball game, an artificial flower, some first words flash cars, a Ninja turtle coloring book and two scissors. In the evening, Mama, Daddy, Chase and Nanaw went to Aunt Maggie's for their buffet. Unfortunately, Chase got sick to his stomas and couldn't eat. He was very excited to see his crossing guard there.

Thursday, February 23, 2017

Chase and Nanaw didn't have any adventures on Thursday. Nanaw had planned for them to go to the Train House but she woke up not feeling well so they stayed home. Nanaw kept trying to lie down to rest, ad Cgase kept saying, "Stand up, Nanaw." It was very funny. Finally, Nanaw stood up because she had to put things away because the cleaning lady was coming. At noon, Chase and Nanaw went over to Chase's house. On the ride over, Chase fell asleep so Nanaw carried him in the house and put him down on his Gascar chair. When they went home, they played War for awhile and then abcmouse. Chase asked Nanaw if Daddy was going to play hockey with him in the back yard, and Nanaw said she was sure he would. When Nanaw took Chase home, that was the first thing he said to Daddy. Chase changed into play clothes, and he and Daddy and Mama went out in the back yard to play hockey. Mama had bought a whistle at Party City so she was the referee in charge of the whistle. Mama sent a picture of Chase to Nanaw; he was standing in front of the hockey neck, with his legs stretched out, just like a real hockey goalie. So cute!

Wednesday, February 22, 2017

When Nanaw took Chase to school on Wednesday, she also took the Rice Krispies treats (it was Chase's turn for treats) and the play dough that Mama and Chase. Ms. Whitworth was very grateful for the play dough. When Nanaw picked Chase up from school, she asked him if he used his minion pillow at rest time, and he said yes. Then he told Nanaw that Brady told him he needed a blanket for rest time. So Nanaw asked him if he wanted to take his magic blanket to school with him on Friday, and he said yes. Then, as they were walking to Nanaw's car, he told her that he had homework. Nanaw asked what it was, and he said he had to draw a picture of his house. So Nanaw is going to let Mama take care of that. He has to color a picture of a house, draw his house, and paste a photo of himself in the open door of the picture of the house. He also has to write his address and phone number on one of the papers. On the way home, Chase and Nanaw went to the little park. Brady and baby Emma were there, along with Drew and some new children named Ben and Alexis. Silly Nanaw brought Chase's golf clubs and ball to the park for him to play with. So after playing golf hockey for awhile, the little boys started beating each other up with the clubs, and Nanaw had to take them away. When Nanaw took Chase home, the field hockey set Daddy bought for Chase had arrived, and Daddy set it up in the back yard. Chase was so excited and happy to play field hockey with his Daddy.

Tuesday, February 21, 2017

Before Chase and Nanaw's adventure on Tuesday, they spent a long time looking for Tee Tee. Chase and Nanaw had gone downstairs to play and somehow Tee Tee got lost. Chase wanted to use Nanaw's new flashlight to look for his best friend so Nanaw gave it to him. Chase finally found Tee Tee downstairs in the school room on PawPaw's desk. It was quite a relief, When Nanaw told Mama about it, she said they needed to get a GPS thing for Tee Tee to make it easier to find him when he gets lost. So finally, Chase and Nanaw went to the Magic House for their adventure. First, Chase went to the craft room to play with the painting on glass display, then he found a box of Legos and played with those. He said he wanted to go to the Daniel Tiger room and on the way, he played with the wall puzzle, the peg board and the Blues hockey room. They stayed in the Daniel Tiger room for about an hour and a half -- he absolutely loves that room. He pushed around one of the little trolleys the whole time he was there. After the Daniel Tiger room, they went to see the train, then downstairs to the construction area and the air ball display. As usual, Chase didn't want to leave but at least he didn't cry. Nanaw got to keep Chase a little longer because Daddy had to stay late at work and Mama had her hair appointment. After Chase went home, Mama sent Nanaw a picture of what they did in the evening -- a game of tic tac toe using the play dough they made Monday night to make the x's and o's. Nanaw asked Mama if it was her idea but she said nope, it was Chase's idea. What a creative little guy he is.

Monday, February 20, 2017

Daddy had the day off on Monday, and he spent the whole day with Chase. He said Chase went outside to play twice. They went to Dairy Queen for lunch, and Chase had vanilla ice cream with sprinkles. Nanaw came to visit Chase around 5 o'clock. She brought Chase's two pretend "hockey sticks" and a ball so they could play hockey together. When Nanaw got there, Chase and Daddy were downstairs playing video games -- Mario -- on the TV. After awhile, Chase decided to play hockey with Nanaw. They played downstairs for awhile, then went upstairs and followed Mama outside. She wanted to try moving adjusting the steering wheel on her new car. Next, Chase and Nanaw went in the back yard to play hockey. Chase has two really big hockey sticks, and that's what they used. Then they went into the house and played hockey in the hall. Nanaw was the "blocker" -- that's Chase name for the goalie. Next, they played the card game War and Mama came to join them at the kitchen table. Later in the evening, Mama and Chase made play dough for school, using flour and Kool-Aid for coloring and lots of other ingredients. Mama took pictures of the play dough and sent them to Nanaw. Mama says chase participated in making the first batch but then left to do other things. Nanaw said he has the attention span of a tsetse fly.
