Nanaw went to visit Chase on Sunday evening. Mama told Nanaw that earlier in the day Chase asked her when Nanaw was coming over -- that made Nanaw feel very good. Nanaw asked Chase if he wanted to go to a week of summer camp at the Magic House, and he said yes. So Mama and Nanaw looked it up on line and had Chase pick out which kind of camp he wanted to go to. He picked the Fantastic Senses where they do science experiments and art projects. Nanaw will register him soon for the week of July 17 through July 21. After the camp discussion, Nanaw and Chase played soccer in the hall. Then they went downstairs to play hockey with all of Chase's balls and his net and hockey sticks. Chase had noodles and alphabet soup for dinner; Mama made a delicious chicken and pasta dish with cheese and bacon. Nanaw ate a few bites and it was wonderful. Mama says that next time she'll make it with gluten-free pasta so Nanaw can eat it. Mama texted Nanaw later in the evening to tell her that Chase got to see a rainbow -- it had rained while the sun was out.

Nanaw went to visit Chase and play with him first thing on Saturday morning. They spent a long while playing with Chase's Play Dough collection while Mama went grocery shopping. Mama made a plan for a "benture," as Chase calls adventures. She said they would go to Home Depot to pick out and buy a new mailbox for Nanaw as her Mother's Day present. Then they would go to Penny's to pick up towels that Mama ordered online. Nanaw said she would go home to eat breakfast, then Mama and Chase would pick her up. So that's what they did. At Home Depot, Mama also bought another Tiki torch -- calling it "island guy" -- plus citronella. At Penney's, Chase wanted to stay in the car with Nanaw, and Mama was fine with that. She promised Chase they would go to Walgreen's and get a present for Chase. At Walgreen's, Chase looked around at the toys and finally selected two smash balls that you throw on the floor or counter or against the wall -- one was an eyeball and one was a brain. Mama invited Nanaw to dinner for potato soup but Nanaw respectfully declined -- Nanaw is on a diet. But later Mama said there was flour in the soup so it was good that Nanaw wasn't coming.

When Nanaw picked Chase up on Friday morning, he wanted to know if they could go downstairs when he got home from school to play school, and Nanaw said, "Yes, of course!" At school, Chase once again played at the Mr. Potato Head table with several other boys and girls. Nanaw stayed and played for awhile -- she really likes Mr. Potato Head. When Nanaw picked Chase up from school, it was pouring down rain. So Nanaw decided to park on the side street by the school. Unfortunately, there were a lot of big water puddles on the way into school. Nanaw brought an umbrella for Chase to use but at one point, Brady took the umbrella away from Chase for a minute or two before Nanaw could get it back so Chase got soaked. When they got home, Nanaw put all of Chase's clothes in the dryer because they were really wet. Once his clothes were dry, Chase and Nanaw went downstairs to play school. They said the pledge of allegiance, then played with the letters on magnetic board. Then Nanaw read The Velveteen Rabbit to Chase and his stuffed "amamals." Mama was going to the Blues / Predators playoff hockey game on Friday night with Auntie La-La.

Mama had the day off on Thursday to go to the Cardinals baseball game with Uncle Mike. So Mama brought Chase over to Nanaw's house a little after 8:30 on Thursday morning. Nanaw had planned to take Chase to the Train House first and then the Magic House but Chase told Nanaw he didn't want to go to the Train House. So they went to the Magic House when it opened at 10:30. Chase had a great time, visiting all his favorite places. He went to Future Play and saw the friendly lady who works there. Then he went to the craft area and played with scribble bots, something new. Next, he played in the sand area, the Legos, fishing, the water works, the geology area, hockey, the wall puzzles, the car races and the catapult. Chase watched his Velveteen Rabbit part of the way home and then fell asleep -- very cute. Chase and Nanaw watched part of the Cardinals game, and it was very exciting. It turns out that Mama and Uncle Mike left the game in the middle of the seventh inning. This was before the Cardinals tied the game in the bottom of the ninth and won it in the bottom of the eleventh with Matt Carpenter's grand slam home run. Chase and Nanaw were so excited. Uncle Mike stayed at Chase' s house for dinner -- steak kabobs -- yum! Before dinner, Uncle Mike, Chase and Nanaw played hockey in the garage. After dinner, Nanaw went home, and Chase, Daddy, Uncle Mike and Mama played more hockey in the garage.

Wednesday, April 26, 2017

Wednesday morning while chase and Nanaw were eating breakfast and Nanaw was reading the newspaper, Chase said, "Let's see what's going on with the Blues." So Nanaw gave him the sports page -- it was very funny. Chase told Nanaw they had tacos for dinner last night, and Nanaw asked Chase if he ate one. He said yes and that he liked it. Nanaw was happy about that because she wants Chase to eat and enjoy the delicious dinners that his Mama prepares. Chase was happy that Nanaw brought his Paw Patrol umbrella when she came to pick him up from school. It was raining hard, and Chase liked using his umbrella. When they got home, Chase asked Nanaw if his first T-ball game was cancelled because of the rain, and Nanaw said she didn't know. So Chase got out his pretend iPhone, put it to his ear and called somebody who told him the game was cancelled -- it was very cute. Later, Nanaw said to Chase, "Guess who doesn't get to play in the playoffs? The Blackhawks!" Chase gave Nanaw a thumbs-up. Chase played Red Ball and Air Hockey on Nanaw's iPad till it was time to go home.

Tuesday, April 25, 2017

Chase and Nanaw went to Dobbs first thing on Tuesday morning to have Nanaw's air conditioning looked at. They had to wait two and a half hours, and Chase was incredibly good. Nanaw brought along lots of snacks and juice for him, plus her iPad and Chase's Leap Pad. He played for a long while with the iPad and Leap Pad. Nanaw was so impressed and when she told Mama how good Chase was, Mama said he could have a point toward his Yoshi car -- which takes 20 points. Nanaw had planned to take Chase to the Magic House after they went to Dobbs but Chase said he didn't want to go, that he wanted to stay home. So they stayed home, and played downstairs. Chase also watched his Velveteen Rabbit movie and played with Nanaw's iPad again. Nanaw decided they would go to both the Train House and the Magic House on Thursday. However, Mama is off Thursday to go to the baseball game with Uncle Mike so Nanaw might not have Chase as early as usual. Mama is also going to the Blues/Predators playoff hockey game. Chase helped pack up his stuffed "amamals" and books in his Thomas bag and said maybe he could get another point. So Nanaw asked Mama, and she said yes.

Monday, April 24, 2017

After Chase signed in at school, he went to play at a table that had a big box of Mr. Potato Heads. Three other children were there, and Nanaw thought it was cute to watch them putting the eyes and hats and feets, etc. on Mr. Potato Head. When Chase picked up Chase from school, he wanted to go to the park to play. Brady said he was going to the city park so Chase and Nanaw went there but Brady wasn't there. So then Chase and Nanaw went to the little park by the library and that's where all his friends were -- Brady and his sister Emma, Drew, Audrey and her sister Vivian and brother Teddy. Chase brought Peep with him, which caused sort of a problem because Brady wanted Chase to share Peep and Chase didn't want to. After Chase and Nanaw left the park, they went to the Telegraph Road library. Chase played with the eyeball Legos and had a good time with them. When they left the library, Chase asked Nanaw if he could play Doodle on her iPad when they got home, and Nanaw said, "Yes, of course." Chase loves playing Doodle, which is a drawing app that uses alphabet letters. When Chase got home, Daddy was working on the dishwasher so Chase and Mama played Cardinals baseball Monopoly in the living room -- very cute.
