Nanaw went over to Chase's house for Mama's New Year's Eve party. She took along shrimp and her bottle of non-alcoholic champagne. Uncle Will-Bill came to the party also. Mama made a huge buffet of delicious foor: Little Smokies wrapped in bacon, Little Smokies wrapped in crescent rolls; meatballs, chicken wings; Rotel; and Nanaw's shrimp. It was wonderful, and Nanaw enjoyed Mama's food very much. Chase only ate two Smokies -- the bug doesn't have much of an appetite except for candy. Uncle Will-Bill bought Chase a lighted whirling thing, and Chase had a grand time keeping it up in the air. For awhile, Chase and Nanaw played downstairs with Chase's remote control cars -- he has three. Eventually, everybody came downstairs and watched the New Year's Eve programs on TV. Amazingly enough, Chase stayed up until midnight. Nanaw took him upstairs and opened the front door so he could hear the sirens and firecrackers and people shouting. He thought that was great. Then he went to bed right away.

Saturday, December 30, 2017

Nanaw went to visit Chase on Saturday morning. They played at the kitchen table the whole two hours that she was there. Mama worked on her grocery list while Chase and Nanaw colored pages from Chase's Charlie Brown Christmas coloring book. Nanaw was excited to use the different colors in his box of 120 crayons. Chase did a really good job of coloring a Christmas tree: He colored in the lines for the tree and the ornaments. Mama and Nanaw were very impressed with the good job he did. Chase stopped coloring and started playing with all of his Roblox men. Nanaw kept coloring as she watched him play with the guys. Mama went to the grocery store, and Daddy came to sit at the kitchen table with Chase and Nanaw. He was impressed with Chase's coloring job also. Uncle Chris and his family stopped to visit Chase and his family around noon, on their way home to Silex from visiting family in Belleville. In the evening, Mama fixed mostacciolli for dinner. Then Mama watched a Hallmark movie, and Chase played with his tablet.

Friday, December 29, 2017

Mama, Chase and Nanaw had a major day of adventures on Friday. First, they went to the Train House to see the Christmas train display for the last time. Miss Linda is still out sick so they couldn't say hello to her. Chase did the scavenger hunt again and popcorn for his success. Nanaw is already looking forward to next year's train display. Their next stop was Target where Chase spent his $20 gift card from Jackson Chapman and his family. He bought two Roblox men, and Mama bought a BB9 ornament. Next, they went to the big Dollar Tree on Lemay Ferry so Chase could spend his Dollar Tree gift card. He got two little birdies (Christmas ornaments) to put in the cage with his parakeet, plus a bunch of Ninja fighting things. Mama bought a blue dolphin hand potholder for Tee Tee as a blanket/bed and Chase put Tee Tee in his new blanket bed. Next, they went to Walmart, where Nanaw bought him a Blues wallet (or billfold as Nanaw calls it). Nanaw put Chase's money and Dollar Tree gift card in his wallet. In the evening, Mama, Daddy and Chase went to Aunt Becca's house to visit with her friends Edie and four-year-old Noelle.

Thursday, December 28, 2017

Nanaw had one of her rapid heartbeat episodes early Thursday morning so she went to the hospital, and Chase didn't come over. When Nanaw was all right, Mama and Chase came to pick Nanaw up from the hospital, and Chase came over to play at Nanaw's house because Mama was working at home. They played for awhile with the Cars Speedway. Then Chase opened up his Monopoly game and played with it on the kitchen counter. He also played with the new Roblox man. Nanaw straightened up the house for the cleaning lady, and then she and Chase went downstairs. Chase took his new Monopoly game and his Roblox man down with him. They had fun playing downstairs. Chase got into the playpen, and Nanaw took a picture of him in there -- very funny.

Wednesday, December 27, 2017

Mama went into the office on Wednesday and dropped Chase off at Nanaw's on her way. It was really cold outside -- 7 degrees. There's going to be cold weather at least until the end of 2017. For awhile after he got to Nanaw's house, Chase lay on the sofa, still in his coat, holding Tee Tee, covered with a blanket. When he got off the sofa, he and Nanaw went into his room to play with his Cars Speedway -- he really loves it and played with it off and on all day long. Sidney Crosby likes the speedway also. He kept trying to chase after the cars. Chase ate turkey for lunch; he seems to really like it. Nanaw will have to figure out a way to have turkey for him without roasting a big bird.

Tuesday, December 26, 2017

Nanaw went to get her nuclear stress test in the morning. It was a really yucky test that made Nanaw feel bad. But she was cheered up because Chase was coming to visit. Chase and Daddy came over for Daddy to work on the Cars Speedway that Nanaw gave Chase for Christmas. First they moved the toys that Chase had in the middle of his room, then Daddy went to work. Chase turned on his television so they could watch what Chase calls Chase TV. Chase sat on his futon while Daddy worked on the speedway. It had a humongous number of pieces. First, Daddy had to put all the stickers on and that took quite awhile. Then he worked on putting the pieces together. He said that fortunately the pieces snapped together, making it easier. The only place where he had to use a screwdriver was where the batteries went. For awhile, Chase brought some toys into the kitchen and played with them and Nanaw on the kitchen counter. Chase was very excited when Daddy finally had the speedway together. It's totally awesome. The cars zoom around the track, propelled by a two-sided pushing thing. Chase had a grand time and was sorry to go home. But Daddy and Nanaw told him he could play with it on Wednesday when he came back to Nanaw's house.

Christmas Day, Monday, December 25, 2017

Nanaw went to visit Chase on Christmas morning to see all his toys. He got an archery set, a Nintendo Switch (as a family gift), a Mario Monopoly game, a Roblox pizza guy, a big guitar, and lots of other things. He got a Ninja trash truck that's really cool, plus a slime kit, a box of 120 crayons, and an Operations game. He got a punching bag from Aunt Becky and Uncle Mike. Nanaw got a light-up Santa helicopter and an Apple gift card from Aunt Becky and Uncle Mike. Nanaw got three ornaments from Mama: a Frosty, a light-up picture of her and Chase; and an ornament made out of the fish artwork that Chase did at school. From Mama, she also got an Amazon gift card, her cat calendar, a wind-up display train to put on the coffee table, a Cardinals umbrella, a coffee cup that show pictures of Chase when hot liquid is inside, red gloves with special fingers for devices. Chase gave Nanaw an ornament with Grandma on it and a pen. My five wonderful grandchildren from Mike gave me two great Yankee candles and a movie gift card. Chase helped Nanaw open all her presents, and he had a great time doing it. The little fellow really likes to open presents.

Christmas Eve, Sunday, December 24, 2017

On Christmas Eve morning, Nanaw came over to visit Chase. She brought along Tee Tee's present, the one that Chase picked out for him at Dollar Tree. Chase put it under the Christmas tree in the living room so that Tee Tee could open it on Christmas morning. Chase and Nanaw played in Chase's room. He wanted to play with his zoo. Nanaw looked for it in the top toy box but it wasn't there. And there wasn't an easy way to get into the bottom toy box so they found other things to play with. Chase played his Charlie Brown Christmas lights on his tree for Nanaw, the ones she bought for him at Big Lots. They played with Chase's kitchen and his stuffed animals on his bed. Nanaw admired his animal hammock and rearranged some of the animals. Then they went into the kitchen and played with the crash dummies on the kitchen table. Unfortunately, one of the dummies got injured: His leg fell off and Daddy wasn't able to glue it back on. Then Mama got out the Santa cookies that she had made earlier, and Mama and Chase decorated them with red and white icing. In the afternoon, Mama, Daddy and Chase went out to Grandma Pat's and Aunt Patty's house in Wentzville for the family Christmas celebration. Nanaw went to Sherry and Dan's house and saw Uncle Doug and Aunt Rita and Ryan and Greg, plus Sherry's family.

Saturday, December 23, 2017

On Saturday afternoon, Mama, Daddy, Chase and Nanaw went to the Waterloo Cinemas to see the new Star Wars movie, The Last of the Jedi. The movie was really good, and the popcorn was good. Unfortunately, the theater wasn't the one Mama and Nanaw were in to see Bad Moms with the big, overstuffed, comfortable seats -- it was just the regular movie seats. After the movie, Nanaw stayed for awhile at Chase's house to go with him while he went outside to play in the snow. It had snowed about an inch and there was enough to make snowballs. Chase used his snowball maker and made a snow ball and threw it at Nanaw. He also got down in th snow, moved his arms and legs back and forth and make snow angels. In the evening, Mama, Daddy and Chase watched The Year without Santa Claus with Heat Miser and Snow Miser. Nanaw is sure that Chase sang the songs with them. He learned them for the school's Christmas play. When Nanaw went to the cemetery, she took a picture of the wreaths that were put on the graves by Wreaths Over America. They put out 10,000 at Jefferson Barracks.
