Wednesday on the way to school, Francis the crossing guard told Nanaw and Chase that the city is going to install a new water line on Main Street by the school and will be tearing up the street. So he suggests that Nanaw park behind the school or on the side streets when she brings Chase to school, starting soon. For Nanaw's volunteer work in Chase's class, she helped the boys and girls make fireflies out of construction paper -- very cute. She also helped them with their papers from the various centers. She gave out lots of WOWs. Mrs. Herrmann's voice was a little better but she was still using her little black microphone. For awhile, Mrs. Herrmann and Mrs. Sullivan left Nanaw in charge of the class while Mrs. Herrmann went to take chess club pictures for the yearbook and Mrs. Sullivan followed up on some testing. Nanaw had fun being in charge. After school, Chase and Nanaw met Brady and his grandma at the big park but it didn't turn out so well at the end. Neither boy wanted to leave and they were sort of bad about it.
