Mama called Nanaw first thing Thursday morning and said that Chase was so excited about the snow and having a snow day. She said he was making all kinds of plans of what he would do in the snow at Nanaw's house. Chase had his new snow boots on when he got to Nanaw's house, along with his scarf. Nanaw managed to get Chase to eat breakfast before going out to play in the snow -- at 7:30. Nanaw found his snowball maker and ice block maker, and he had a great time making snowballs (and throwing them at Nanaw) and blocks of snow. He also made snow angels and tried to shovel and sweep snow, especially when two boys stopped by and Nanaw paid them $60 to shovel her driveway. Chase spent a lot of time rolling around in the snow and laughing while doing it. At the end of the day, he'd gone outside to play in the snow four times. At one point Nanaw considered trying to figure out something he could use as a sled but then decided the hills at the sides of her house are too steep and dangerous. It was a wonderful, exciting day out in the snow for Chase and Nanaw. It was supposed to be the night for Biscuit's sleepover at the Columbia Library but they rescheduled it to next Monday because of the snow.
