Today was a major day for Chase: his baptism. Nanaw took him home from his sleepover about 9:30, and there was a flock of penguins on his front yard, courtesy of Auntie Bert. His Mama and Daddy got him dressed in his wonderful white suit. And they all went to 11 o'clock Mass. The baptism ceremony was at 12:15. There were four or five other babies being baptized at the same time as Chase. He was extremely chatty during the ceremony, babbling away and then getting a bit antsy and fussy. His cousin Kyle had to bring his Herman toy up to him and then came back with the beaded teething ring. There were about 30 people at his baptism party, including his new BFF Jackson. The sub sandwiches were delicious and disappeared quickly, as did the yummy cake that said "God Bless Chase" – per Godmother Auntie Alice.

Today was Nanaw’s favorite adventure day because it was Chase’s first sleepover at Nanaw’s house. Nanaw picked up Chase in the morning, and they went to Lafayette Square to pick up Nanaw’s friend Jackie who was visiting from Birmingham, Alabama. Nanaw and Jackie have been friends since first grade at Bel-Nor school, and that’s a really long time. They had lunch at the Bread Company on Telegraph Road, then went back to Nanaw’s house to visit. Chase was his most charming ever, smiling and babbling and not fussing or crying at all – what an angel baby he is. They took Jackie back to Lafayetter Square and then picked up Sam so he could play at Nanaw’s house for awhile. Mama and Daddy went to the Mizzou football game against Vanderbilt but the Tigers lost so that was sad. Chase fell asleep when they were taking Sam back home and slept all night -- so it was a successful sleepover.

Chase and Nanaw had a great adventure today. First, there was Laptime at the Clayton library. As usual, Chase seemed to really enjoy watching the other little children. He sat next to a little 13-month-old girl named Mia, who kept handing toys to him. After that, they went to Walmart to get Nanaw’s oil changed and tire pressure checked. Then it was on to Schnucks to pick up party rye for Mama to use to make rye bread pizzas for her departmental party at Chase’s house that evening. Chase was a huge success at the party, smiling and letting everyone hold him. He stayed awake till about 9:30 p.m., when everyone left, so he was a true party animal.

Chase and Nanaw went for their early morning walk but didn’t sit out in the WE bar / Bistro because it was too cool. Chase had a good day crawling around the living room and playing with his toys. When Mama got home from work, she, Chase and Nanaw went on a shopping adventure to Walmart to order the sub sandwich and cake for Chase’s baptism party on Sunday, and also to buy food for the party Mama is having for her department Friday evening. Daddy bought Chase a wonderful white suit to wear at his baptism – he’ll look like one very sharp-dressed man. Sam’s toy of the day was his barn.

Chase and Nanaw went for their early morning walk in his subdivision, and Chase seemed to have fun playing with the tire on the jogging stroller. Chase is now walking with his new musical walker – Mama thinks maybe he learned how to do it from Jackson. Nanaw came for a delicious chicken marsala dinner. Sam’s toy of the day is the snowman loofah.

Today, the furnace men came to put in a new furnace and air conditioner so Chase and Nanaw didn’t go to Laptime at Tesson Ferry. Also, they waited until the afternoon for their walk around the subdivision. Chase seemed fascinated with all the loud drilling noises – he’s a worker man, for sure. Chase crawled around the living room and did his usual clearing off of the shelves of toys. Sam had two toys today: Tuggy Moose, which Nanaw picked out, and the yellow puppy, which he picked out.

Today was another big adventure for Chase: his second visit to the zoo. Mama, Daddy and Nanaw accompanied Chase on this adventure and had a great time. Chase got to go in the children’s zoo and pet the hamsters and goats and crawl around inside a tunnel, and go inside a play house. At lunch, Mama and Daddy fed Chase bits of French fries, and he really seemed to like them. He also had a bite of Nanaw’s yummy funnel cake, Nanaw’s favorite part of the adventure. Mama, Daddy and Chase posed for a picture with Mr. Goat, and Nanaw said they should use it for their Christmas card. But Mama said they couldn’t because Sam was missing from the photo. Chase’s present for the day was a stuffed elephant named Rajah.
