Chase had another party today – Aunt Ginny is visiting from Tennessee and all of Daddy’s family came to Chase’s house to see her. Guests included Grandma Pat, Aunt Patty, Aunt Nona, Aunt Becca, Uncle Stan, Uncle Chuck, Aunt Kristen, cousin Mallory, Uncle Chris, Aunt Kristen, Cessie, Eli and lots of other cousins. Daddy grilled hot dogs and hamburgers, and Grandma Pat brought lots of delicious food, including yummy cheesecake. Nanaw came to visit and Mama sent lots of good food home with her. Chase was playing outside when Nanaw got there, and his clothes were sippy-soppy from going down the wet slide. After Nanaw changed his clothes, Chase and Nanaw went into the living room to play. Chase watched Disney Jr. and played with his motorcycle. Mama and Daddy came into the living room to play, and both of them read books to Chase, which he seemed to really like. Later in the evening Mama sent a picture of Chase in his jammies to Nanaw and said he seemed to enjoy his bath a lot.

First thing on Saturday, Chase, Mama and Sam went for an early morning walk, while Daddy went to play golf. Mama was busy getting ready for her "Wine Day" party in the afternoon. Nanaw came over to visit and take pictures of Chase. He played with his inside motorcycle, put the blue bucket on his head and examined the chicken bucket from last night’s KFC. After he was dressed, Mama and Nanaw took him out in the back yard to play and swing. Later, at the party, cousin Joe said that Chase kept running into things with his toy lawn mower that Uncle Mike and Aunt Becky gave him. Joe said Chase was losing his temper about it, and we decided he was taking after Uncle Mike. Then Mama said she had a temper too so he might be taking after her. Mama also said Chase and Jackson played together and did a lot of babbling to each other.

Chase had a major adventure today: a visit to Suson Park – more about that later. First thing today, Chase and Nanaw went for an early morning walk in Nanaw’s subdivision. Then they went to Clayton Laptime. The substitute teacher was there instead of Miss Jeannie so there weren’t as many songs and rhymes. Chase seemed to have a great time playing with one of the balls and then with three markers he found on the whiteboard. After Laptime, Chase and Nanaw went to explore Suson Park, which is located off Tesson Ferry Road. When Mama and Uncle Mike were little, they used to go there and really liked looking at the animals. And so did Chase. He saw sheep and goats, horses, cows, and a baby calf named Annie who was only 17 days old. He saw ducks and said quack quack when he saw them. He seemed to have a really great time and cried when it was time to get in the car and leave. He fell asleep right away and slept in the stroller during a brief visit to the Telegraph Road to pick up books that Nanaw had on request. For dinner, Chase, Mama and Daddy had KFC and Chase got a "chicken bucket" that Mama was very excited about.

Thursday, June 27, 2013

Last night Mama sent Nanaw a picture of Chase holding and "reading" a Nora Roberts book, "The Witness, that Mama and Nanaw recently read. Then this afternoon, Nanaw saw Chase sitting on the sofa again holding and "reading" the book so she took a photo also. And he didn’t tear any of the pages either of the times he was "reading" it. Chase’s first adventure of the day was an early morning walk in his subdivision. After his nap, Chase and Nanaw went to Walmart where Chase seemed to have a really good time. In the afternoon, he watched "Gaspard and Lisa" on Disney Jr. and kept "talking" to the program – it was really cute. Sam’s toy of the week was his skeleton with a heart, "Canine Jack."

Chase’s first adventure today was a walk in Nanaw’s subdivision. Then Chase and Nanaw drove to Nanaw’s church to pick up a CD from Sunday’s service for Nanaw to put on the church website. Nanaw decided to take the long way home and on the way, she serendipitously discovered the entrance to Suson Park off Tesson Ferry Road. It’s right across from the office of Dr. Charles, Chase’s pediatrician. Chase and Nanaw may go on an adventure to Suson Park on Thursday, depending on the weather. Chase played on the back deck and then spent a lot of time running around Nanaw’s house, which he really seems to like doing. He’s really good and doesn’t mess with too much – except throwing clumps of kitty litter around the laundry room – not a good thing to do. Mama worked late today and picked up Chase at about 6:30. Nanaw was really happy to have Chase for an extra hour and a half.
