Happy Halloween! Tuesday, October 31, 2017

Chase was so excited about Halloween! He said, "It's finally here!" Mama was off from work so she took Chase to school. He wore his Minion costume. In the afternoon, Mama and Nanaw went to Chase's school Halloween party to help out. Mama worked at the cookie decorating table, and Nanaw helped with the ring toss on the witches' hats game. It was grand fun, and Mama and Nanaw were so glad that they went. For dinner, Mama and Chase had the pumpkin-shaped pizza from Papa Murphy's. Daddy and Nanaw had delicious chili that Mama made. Daddy made a fire in the driveway in the fire pit -- it was cold outside. Daddy, Mama and Chase went on the first part of the Trick or Treating adventure while Nanaw gave out candy at Chase's house. Then, when they came back, Mama, Chase and Nanaw went out on the second part of the Trick or Treating adventure. One of the neatest costumes was a dinosaur. Chase really enjoyed giving out candy to the Trick or Treaters -- it was very cute. He got two big buckets full of candy, plus candy from Sunday night's Trunk or Treat adventure and the leftover candy. Chase has candy all over the place.

Happy 7th Anniversary to Mama and Daddy! Chase was sad to take Beary the Bear back to school Monday morning. Nanaw thinks Beary had a wonderful weekend with Chase, Mama and Daddy. When Nanaw picked Chase up from school, they went to Dollar Tree to buy Halloween presents for Chase. He had to go to the bathroom so Chase and Nanaw went to the restroom at Schnucks. Then when they were in Dollar Tree, Chase found the Dollar Tree restroom and told Nanaw about it. Nanaw didn't think Dollar Tree had a public restroom but Chase proved her wrong. Chase got lots of goodies, including two Ninja turtle mini winebags (as Chase calls the mystery bags), one Pet Shop mini winebag, a football game, a nutcracker Christmas ornament, a travel activity packet, a water bottle, and a package of Starburst candy. When Nanaw took Chase home, he found out that he was going to Outback for Mama and Daddy's anniversary dinner. Mama sent Nanaw two pictures of Chase at Outback.

Sunday evening was Trunk R Treat at Chase's church for ICS. Chase wore his Minion costume and took along Beary the Bear. There were lots of cars there decorated for Halloween -- it was very impressive. People put in a lot of work to decorate their trunks, and the kids really seemed to like it. Chase went to all of the cars --Nanaw estimates that there were between 50 and 75 cars. The costumes the kids and adults were wearing were awesome and interesting -- it was really fun. Mama, Daddy, Chase and Nanaw spent time with Brady and Emma and their parents, which was also fun. Chase ran around for about an hour with Brady, Andrew and several other kindergartners. He had a most excellent time. The kids were playing some kind of hide and seek game that was very cute. On the way home, Chase found a package of Skittles in his Trick R Teat bag for Nanaw, which made her very happy.

On Saturday morning, Nanaw went over to visit Chase. While Mama went to the grocery store, Chase and Nanaw played together in the living room. Chase was played with his mini train tracks, and he let Nanaw play also. Then they started inventing games with the mini trains. Chase lined up two teams of mini trains on the air hockey table and turned on the air. It was very cute. Then Chase invented a game using mini trains lined up on one of the train cases, a dice and marbles and small bouncy balls. Chase is very creative when it comes to inventing games. Chase had told Mama he wanted a sandwich, so for lunch she promised to give him a sandwich. In the afternoon, Mama and Chase went to Target to get a stool for Mama. In the evening, they had a major adventure: Uncle Chris's Halloween party. They went for a hayride and had a bonfire. And Beary the ICS bear went along for the party. Mama says they had a wonderful time. Mama sent Nanaw pictures of Chase with Beary, with Elias and at the party.

Chase, Mama and Nanaw had a major day of adventures on Friday. Mama had the day off from work, and Chase had the day off from school. First, they went to the Humane Society to drop off towels and sheets for the dogs. They went to look at dogs, puppies and cats, and that was great fun. Mama liked a cocker spaniel named Meeko. Mama and Nanaw looked Meeko up on the web and later discovered that he had been adopted. Mama wants Daddy to go along to look at dogs. After the Humane Society, they went to Eckert's Fun Farm in Belleville. Chase went there a couple of weeks ago with Daddy and Uncle Chris cousins Elias and Cesi. Mama wasn't able to go because she had to do computer testing. Beary went along on the adventures and had his picture taken at Eckert's. Chase had a wonderful time and did lots of things: exploring Fort Eckert, riding tricycles, going in the spooky house, eating kettle corn, riding in rolling wheels, going on the slide and playing miniature golf. At the country store, Mama bought Chase a stuffed dachshund and lots of candy. In the evening, Mama, Daddy and Chase went to Aunt Maggie's for dinner.

Thursday, October 26, 2017

Mama brought Chase to Nanaw's house on Thursday morning, and he wanted to play abcmouse before school so Nanaw set up the computer. He had fun with it, as usual. Nanaw went shopping at Walmart and bought a pair of Mario little old man jammies for Chase. When Nanaw picked Chase up, he came out of the school carrying a large, blue duffel bag. Nanaw asked who it belonged to. She thought Chase said Barry so she asked who is Barry? Where is he? It turned out that Chase said "Beary." Beary is the bear who spends weekends with boys and girls from Chase's class. Beary wears a navy blue ICS sweatshirt and is very cute. Chase asked Nanaw to take his picture with Beary and she did, then sent the picture to Mama. When Chase and Nanaw got to Nanaw's house, Chase carried Beary with him wherever he went -- it was very cute. Chase stayed late at Nanaw's house because Mama and Daddy had a parent-teacher conference with Mrs. Herrmann. Chase is doing well in school and still has a lot to learn. The sad thing is that once a quarter, table assignments change, so Chase will be sitting with other boys and girls. He'll miss his current table-mates.
