Chase and Nanaw stayed home on Monday and did lots of different fun things. First thing, they watched the beautiful marshmallow sky. There were puffy white clouds covering the sky -- it was awesome. Nanaw took a picture and texted it to Mama and Uncle Mike. When they got to Nanaw's house, she got out the library summer reading program sign and put it in the front yard. Then she took Chase's picture in front of the sign. Chase had Tee Tee and Jack Skellington with him so they were in the picture also. Chase and Nanaw played in Chase's room for awhile and then they played downstairs. After lunch, they went back outside to play. Chase drank his chocolate milk outside and then he and Nanaw played with a can of blue Silly String. Chase had a great time with the Silly String, and he was very good about helping Nanaw pick the Silly String off the grass. Next, Chase put on his swimming trunks and Nanaw filled up his little wading pool. Then he played water baseball with Nanaw. That means he bats in the wading pool. Nanaw pitches to him while he's standing in the pool. It's very funny to watch. Nanaw also squirted him with the hose, which made him laugh a lot. After all the water play, they went to Chase's room for story time. Nanaw decided to start trying to teach Chase to read. Mama had sent along two Spot books, which work really well for early readers. Chase pretended that Tee Tee was doing the reading -- Chase would whisper the words in Tee Tee's ears and then Tee Tee would read the words. It was very cute. Mama sent Nanaw a picture of Chase after he fell asleep in the Madagascar chair.

Chase was so excited about his new baseball slip n slide. He was anxious for Daddy to put it up, which happened after they got home from church on Sunday. Mama told Nanaw that she played baseball with Daddy and Chase on the slip n slide and slipped and slid and fell down. Fortunately, she didn't hurt herself badly. Nanaw came over for dinner -- onion burgers, corn on the cob and grilled green beans courtesy of Jackson's garden. After dinner, everyone went outside -- Mama, Daddy and Chase to play baseball on the slip n slide and Nanaw to watch them. They had a super great time. Chase fell all over the place and loved falling -- and he didn't hurt himself. Mama was doing a great job at batting, and she didn't fall either. Mama told Nanaw she took Sam and Dolly for a walk together.

Saturday was a special day for Chase. He went to Audrey's birthday party and had a great time. Before the party, Chase, Mama and Nanaw met Brady and his Mama and sister Emma at McDonald's for lunch. Chase and Brady were so happy to see each other and gave each other big hugs. Audrey's special day featured a Slip 'n' Slide Bounce House that the boys and girls absolutely loved. Pirates were the theme of the party and included eye patches, mustaches and swords for the boys and beads, feathers and tiaras for the girls. Audrey has a cool backyard with a playhouse, swing set and lots of toys. The kids all played together, and it was wonderful to see so many of Chase's classmates. It was good for them to get together before kindergarten starts. It was a perfect day -- the weather was wonderful and the kids all had such a good time.

Chase and Nanaw had an adventure-filled day on Friday. First, they went to the Train House. The 9:15 Creation Station session was sold out so they signed up for the 10:30 session. Nanaw also renewed her Train House membership. Chase played by the circus train for awhile, then surprisingly, he agreed to go for a train ride. They rode on the train and counted dog bones and looked for the coyote. Then they walked up the hill and walked through the cars building. Then they went up to see the trains. There, Chase met a little boy named Bradley who will be five in August. Chase followed Bradley and his family as they went through the trains. Then they all went for a trolley ride together: Chase, Nanaw, Bradley's mother, grandmother, 2-year-old brother Colby and 3-month-old sister Libby. They all went to the Creation Station together, and Chase played with Bradley the whole time there. Miss Linda was very happy to see Chase and Nanaw. Chase got his popcorn but didn't want to go on the caboose because he said it was too crowded. Next, Chase and Nanaw went to Suson Park to see all the animals and play on the playground. Then they went to the Telegraph Road library to get Chase's book and Magic House ticket for the reading program. In the evening, Mama, Daddy and Chase went to Jackson's house to pick up Dolly Dog for her weeklong visit to Chase's house. Her family is going to Destin, Florida.
