Chase had two adventures on Thursday: going to Story Time at the Telegraph Road library and going shopping at Walmart. The story time books were about various animals, and Chase seemed to enjoy the stories and puppets and stuffed animals the teacher had. The craft was a page of animals to color, cut out and paste on a page with an evergreen tree. Chase had fun with the glue stick, of course. Mama bought Chase a little doctor's kit at Toys R Us, and he brought it with him to Nanaw's house. So at Walmart, Nanaw found another doctor's kit and called Mama to see if it was all right to buy it for Chase to keep at Nanaw's house -- and Mama said yes. After they left Walmart, Chase and Nanaw stopped by Chase's house to make sure everything was okay with Sam and Tyler -- all was well. At the end of the day, there was a brief period of trauma because Tee Tee was missing. Mama came over to Nanaw's house to help search but neither Mama nor Nanaw cou;d find Tee Tee. After Mama left, Nanaw started looking again and miraculously found Tee Tee stuffed behind a sofa cushion -- stuffed there by little Mr. Chase.

Chase's adventure on Wednesday was a trip to the Train House and also playeding with Tyra at Nanaw's house and Tyler at his house. Mama said Tyler slept with Chase most of the night -- very cute. At Nanaw's house, Chase petted Tyra and tried to hug her. He picked her up a couple of times but has trouble keeping her in his arms. It's amazing how much he seems to love the kitties. At the Train House, he played at the train tables for a long time, then tried on the astronaut costume -- Nanaw managed to take a picture of him in the costume. He also tried on the firefighter costume but took it off before Nanaw could take a picture. Chase wanted to do a craft so he went over to the craft tables with Miss Linda, and she helped him do a bunny craft. As usual, the glue was his favorite part of the craft. Nanaw stayed across the room and let Chase do the craft with Miss Linda -- he was very good and seemed to work well with her. Chase and Nanaw rode on the train but didn't go to explore the trains.

Chase had an absolutely major adventure today: He and Nanaw each got a kitten from the Animal Protective Association. They went to the APA for Tuesday Tails and listened to a musician named Toby Starbuck sing, play his guitar and read books. When Chase and Nanaw went with everybody else to see the kittens, Nanaw saw a 10-month-old black kitty who looked like Kole. His name was Tyler, and he was very cute. Chase and Nanaw left but Nanaw kept thinking about Tyler the kitten. Nanaw called Mama to see if she was interested in getting Tyler. Mama said maybe and asked Nanaw to find out it Tyler had been declawed. Chase and Nanaw went back to the APA and asked about the claws (Tyler hadn't been declawed) and asked if they could see Tyler. Chase and Nanaw spent a few minutes in a room with Tyler, and Nanaw decided to call Mama to see if she wanted to adopt him. Mama said yes so Nanaw started the paperwork. Then the APA people told Nanaw that Tyler's sister was also there so Nanaw decided to adopt her -- her name was Tyra. The kitties were in boxes on the seat next to Chase on the way home, and Chase was very excited about them. He kept talking to them and said he was trying to tickle them through the holes in the boxes.

Chase's adventure for today was a visit to wonderful Suson Park, another one of Chase's favorite places. He was so excited about the animals and ran from one place to another, talking to the animals and talking to Nanaw about the animals. Today was the first time he seemed really intensely into the animals. He saw the miniature horses, chickens, turkeys, goats, lambs, sheep, ducks, geese, big horses and a Mama pig with babies that were born on April 15. (When he got home in the evening, he told Mama and Daddy about the Mama pig and eight baby pigs that he saw.) After spending a long while, looking at the animals, Nanaw took Chase to the playground. He was a little whirling dervish on the playground, going from one thing to another. As usual, he didn't want to leave the playground, but Nanaw promised him a juice box and that served as an incentive to get him away from the playground and into the car.

Chase had sort of a rough night at the little house. He woke up crying in the middle of the night and most likely was frightened by waking up in a strange place. Nanaw tried putting him in her bed with her but he kept crying and saying "I need to go downstairs." So Nanaw took him downstairs, and they slept on the sofa bed -- and everything was fine. In the morning, Nanaw packed everything up, and Chase and Nanaw headed home. At the gate, they saw some friends, Ned and Judy, and Nanaw showed off Chase to them. Mama and Daddy were bery happy to see their bugaboo. Mama said the house was very quiet on Sunday morning without Chase there. In the evening, Nanaw came for a delicious dinner of grilled chicken. After dinner, Chase, Mama and Nanaw did crafts -- tissue creations.

Chase's adventure on Saturday was also a special adventure for Nanaw. Chase spent the weekend with Nanaw out at Aspenhof. Mama sent Chase's DVD player along with him, and he watched the Richard Scarry DVD all the way out to Aspenhof. In fact, he watched it many times during the weekend -- it seemed to be his favorite DVD. Nanaw brought along his mega blocks and his cars and trucks for Chase to play with. Nanaw also got out the construction vehicles that live at the little house that Chase's cousins played with when they were little boys. Chase was delighted with the construction vehicles and played with them a lot. Nanaw had planned to take Chase on a walk on the trail around the lake and then to Warrenton for dinner at McDonalds. But it rained all day, and Nanaw didn't want Chase and her to get wet so they stayed home for dinner. Nanaw promised to take Chase to McDonalds at the first opportunity.
