Poor little Chase was sick on Tuesday with a stomach ache and diarrhea. Nanaw felt so bad for him and did her best to take care of him. Unfortunately, Chase and Nanaw had to cancel their plans to go to the Magic House and then later in the evening to the tunnel McDonald's. Later in the day, Chase felt better, and things calmed down. Chase spent a lot of time playing abcmouse -- he sang along with the songs and paid close attention to the stories being read. He also found a new activity: a piano that played various children's songs. Chase sang along, and it was very cute. Nanaw showed Chase that because the laptop has a touch screen, he could touch the keys on the piano and play notes. He really liked that. In the evening, he was very sad when he realized that they weren't going to the tunnel McDonald's because of his tummy. But Nanaw promised that they would go on Friday when Mama and Daddy are going to a happy hour. On Tuesday evening, Mama went to the hockey game with Auntie LaLa, Uncle Chris and little Will, and Daddy went bowling so Nanaw got to keep Chase until bedtime. When she got him ready for bed, she read his two library books to him: a Llama llama book and Polar Express.

Chase brought his collection of little super hero figures with him on Monday (Superman, Batman, Green Lantern, Hawkman and SuperDog), along with his gang of favorite stuffed animals (Tee Tee, Chase Box Turtle, and Santa Jack Skellington). The sign-in board at school wasn't working so Chase didn't have to wait in line to sign in. It's cute to watch him go from table to table to see what games are on each table so he can decide how he wants to start his day. When Nanaw picked Chase up, he had on his emergency clothes, and Ms. Carrow said there was a little problem. Chase had the same little problem at Nanaw's house, and bless his heart, he tried to clean things up. Nanaw thanked him and helped him clean. She also washed all his clothes. After all that was taken care of, Chase and Nanaw pasted eyeballs on paper, painted pictures and used the scissors to cut out faces. When Nanaw took Chase home, She uploaded his cutest video -- when he was a year old and had learned to walk and was learning to get himself up off the floor when he fell down. Then Nanaw downloaded the abcmouse app on his Kindle Fire table, which made him very happy. He sat on Nanaw's lap for awhile and played abcmouse. Once again, silly Nanaw forgot to take any pictures of Chase so she had to ask Mama to take some -- which wonderful Mama promptly did.

Chase and Daddy went out to Wentzville Sunday afternoon to visit Grandma Pat. Daddy says Chase took a nap on the way home so he was rested and ready for Lindsey's birthday celebration Sunday evening. First, everybody went to Cici's for dinner. Daddy bought Chase five little bouncy balls, a tradition for them at Cici's. Nanaw also brought along four of Chase's Hot Wheels cars along for him to play with when he finished eating dinner. Everybody but cousin Kristie was there. When they got back to Nanaw's house, Chase wanted to play with the football game he got at Dollar Tree the other day so he did that for awhile. When it was time for cake and ice cream, Nanaw put some of the trick candles on Lindsey's cake, and Chase helped her blow them out -- not! But they finally did go out -- Nanaw put them in water, just to be on the safe side. After cake, everybody played with Chase and his football game, and it was lots of fun.

Mama told Nanaw that Chase played outside for more than an hour today, and he had a really good time. He'll be so happy when nice weather gets here again because he loves to play outside. Nanaw went to Chase's house for dinner on Saturday evening. She got there just as Daddy and Chase were returning home from church. Daddy said Chase was good at church, and Chase said he saw Sienna from his school class there at church. Mama fixed delicious white bean and chicken chili and even more delicious gluten-free cornbread. After dinner, Mama, Chase and Nanaw played War, until Chase decided he didn't want to play anymore so then Mama and Nanaw finished up the game. While they were playing cards, Nanaw had Chase try on her reading glasses, and he looked very cute but Mama didn't like it because she doesn't want Chase to have to wear glasses. While Mama and Nanaw finished the card game, Chase went to play hockey with Daddy in the living room. First, he was the St. Louis Blues, then he decided to be the St. Louis Penguins -- that boy certainly has an imagination. Nanaw decided she wants to do more crafts and coloring and writing and reading and activities with Chase at her house so she looked online and found lots of things they can start doing next week -- lots of fun.

Friday, January 27, 2017

Mama took off on Friday to do a massive cleaning and straightening of Chase's room so she took Chase to school. She told Nanaw about the line of children waiting to write their names on the board to sign in. Mama said she agreed with Nanaw that it was a funny thing to watch -- the boys and girls took forever to sign in, and they kept erasing what they'd written and start over again. Mama said it would be a miracle if they all finally got signed in, Nanaw sent Mama a picture of an eyeball Chase left on Pawpaw's bed -- that boy loves his eyeballs. Nanaw went over to Chase's house when it was time to pick Chase up from school, and Mama drove them to school. Chase was very cute about seeing both Mama and Nanaw there to pick him up. When he got up to leave, his friend Brady came running up behind him and gave him a swat on his bottom -- very funny. After school, Mama, Chase and Nanaw did Nanaw's errands: getting money at the bank (they asked where Chase was and sent a sucker out to him waiting in the car -- very funny); going to Dollar Tree; and going to Schnuck's for a cherry chip cake mix and frosting for cousin Lindsey's birthday celebration Sunday evening. When Chase got home, Mama showed him his cleaned-up room, and he said it was perfect. He played with his kinetic sand and was delighted to find the long-missing Leonardo car. For dinner, Mama, Daddy, Chase and Nanaw went to O'Charley's by Target and Costco. Kids eat free, so Chase's dinner was free.

Thursday, January 26, 2017

Thursday's plans for a visit to the Train House got cancelled when Chase got sick to his stomach all over the new futon first thing in the morning. He seemed fine after that but Nanaw didn't want to take any chances so they stayed home most of the day. Chase painted for awhile and then played with abcmouse and then played in his room. In the afternoon, the cleaning lady came, so Chase and Nanaw went over to Chase's house while the cleaning lady was at Nanaw's house. Chase asked for popcorn so Nanaw fixed some for him. Then he asked for his tablet, and Nanaw gave it to him. He laid on the sofa and played with his tablet for a long while -- it was very cute. When Nanaw took Chase home, Daddy measured him for his Khoury League uniform and registration. This is going to be so exciting. Mama was ready to make birthday cards for Ms. Merz and Ms. Whitworth with Chase. So Chase picked out paper colors for the cards and signed his name. Mama wrote Happy Birthday on the front and then they put stickers on the cards. Today is cousin Lindsey's birthday, and Nanaw told Chase they would celebrate Lindsey's birthday on Sunday. On Friday afternoon, after school, they're going to go to Schnuck's to get a cherry chip cake mix and ice cream; Chase gets to ride in the car cart.

Wednesday, January 25, 2017

Once again, Chase headed directly for his room and the new futon when Mama brought him to Nanaw's house Wednesday morning. He had breakfast there and was excited to watch Curious George. At school, when he was in line to sign up on the smart board, his friend Andrew was standing in front of him. They were grinning at each and bumping into each other -- it was the cutest thing to watch. Nanaw went to the office to get an M&M tube for Chase -- it's a fundraiser where the kids eat the M&Ms and the parents then put money in the tube. Chase ate the M-ah-Ms (as he calls them) on the way to the library. Nanaw loves hearing him say M-ah-Ms. Chase also got the books Mama ordered for him. His favorite was the Love Monster because it included a red stuffed monster. At the library, Chase played with the eyeball Legos with several different children. When new boys or girls came into the children's area, Chase would say, "There's new people. I have to play with them." He's so cute. When Nanaw took Chase home, he gave Daddy a paper airplane he'd worked on at school so that Daddy could fix it to fly.

Tuesday, January 24, 2017

Mama's friend Becky was with Mama and Chase when they came to Nanaw's house on Tuesday morning. Becky was delivering TJ's pizza, one of Mama's favorites and then they were going to ride to work together. Mama wanted Becky to see Taylor because Taylor's mom Casey belonged to Becky. Becky agrees that Taylor looks like her mother Casey. Chase showed Becky his futon -- he was very cute about it. Tuesday's adventure was a visit to the Magic House. They went to Future Play first and stayed for a long time because was having such a good time. Then they went to Lego cars and the numbers games. They went to the Blues hockey area, the Mizzou football area, the bubble room, the rooms upstairs where you roll balls down roller coaster-like tracks, the dancing guys (that's what Chase calls the magnetic balls that move in time to the music), the Edwards attic, the fairy tale room, and the kinetic balls. Of course, Chase didn't want to go home. At home, he put his new comforter his Mama bought him on the floor of his room and piled a lot of his "amamals" on the comforter -- it was very cute. In the afternoon, Chase played abcmouse, and he had lots of fun with that. Daddy was going bowling on Tuesday night, and Mama and Chase were going to watch the hockey game on TV between the Blues and the Penguins.
