Chase’s adventure for today was Clayton Laptime. Nanaw had the conversation with him about sitting on Nanaw’s lap during story and song time but the conversation had no effect. However, Chase did sit under one of the tables during story and song time and participated and didn’t run around the room. In the afternoon, Chase and Nanaw had "school" and Chase did a lot of coloring. In the evening, Mama called Nanaw desperately seeking Tee-Tee, Chase’s beloved sleep toy. He’d left it over at Nanaw’s house so Nanaw put Tee-Tee in a basket and covered him with a blanket and took Tee-Tee home to Chase. Fortunately, Chase had fallen asleep on Daddy’s lap and didn’t realize that Tee-Tee was missing.

Chase was very excited to see the new Elmo potty-chair when he got to Nanaw’s house this morning but Mama wasn’t quite as excited. In the morning, Chase and Nanaw went to Walmart and then went to Chase’s house while the cleaning people came to Nanaw’s house. Chase took his nap in his own bed, then he and Nanaw went back to Nanaw’s house. In the afternoon, Chase and Nanaw played with the toys in his room, including the farm again. Then Chase sat at the kitchen island to color. He really seems to enjoy sitting in the high bar stool to color.

Chase didn’t have any special adventures today, just a quiet day at home with Nanaw. Chase and Nanaw had "school" this morning, and Chase watched Sesame Street while he colored and then played with the alphabet letters. He also visited the three boxes downstairs that hold the pieces of the large train that Mama’s friend Jane gave him. He’s been doing this for the past few days, going over to the boxes and taking some of the pieces out of the boxes. Nanaw decided the train was too complicated for her to put together so she asked Daddy if he’ll do it when he gets a chance, and he said he’d be happy to. In the afternoon, Chase played with his farm again like he did yesterday, putting the tractor, animals and some bee-byes inside – very cute.

Nanaw went to pick up Chase this morning rather than Mama dropping him off at Nanaw’s so that Mama could take care of her back and not pick up Chase. Chase’s adventure today was going to Laptime at the Telegraph Road Library. Nanaw had the conversation about Chase sitting on Nanaw’s lap during story and song time but it didn’t have any effect on Chase. He wanted to go color so Nanaw let him. He did participate in some of the songs while sitting at the coloring table so that was good. After the songs and stories, Chase went to play with the blocks and the other children, and it was cute to watch him interact with the boys and girls. After his nap, Chase and Nanaw played in his room. When Daddy came to pick Chase up, he didn’t want to go home – he wanted to stay and play with his toys and Nanaw.

Chase’s adventure on this really cold, 7 degree day was going to Babygarten at the Columbia Library. Nanaw had the lap conversation with Chase, and it may have had an effect because he pretty much sat on her lap during song and story time, with only a little wiggling. After song and story time, amazingly enough, Chase played on the big rug with the toys and the other children rather than doing his regular running around the room After his nap, Chase colored and then he and Nanaw played in his room. Mama had worked at home part of the day because her boss made her go home because of her back. In the afternoon, Mama went to the chiropractor, and she said that made her back feel a little better. For dinner, Chase went with Mama and Daddy to Logan’s for Aunt Betty’s birthday.

Daddy went out to Troy / Moscow Mills to help Aunt Nona move today. Nanaw came over in the afternoon to visit, and she and Mama watched part of "The Conjuring." Nanaw fell asleep in the middle of the movie, and then Chase woke up from his nap so Mama stopped watching it – she’s going to ask Aunt Becca how it ends. Mama was having back ¸and it was difficult for her to walk, but she and Chase and Nanaw went to Kohl’s at Gravois Bluffs so Mama could use her $10 Kohl’s cash. Mama bought Chase a blue dress shirt for Easter and a red fireman hoodie that has a puppy on the front. Nanaw was invited for dinner and to watch the Grammys. Mama fixed ranch chicken with bacon bits, a recipe from Aunt Kristin, and it was very good. Everybody but Sam went downstairs to watch the Grammys. Chase seemed to have a really great time playing with all his toys down there, especially the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse tent.

Saturday, January 25, 2014

Nanaw went to visit Chase Saturday morning before his adventure of the day: the family Christmas party at cousin Leah’s house in Wildwood. Nanaw colored with Chase, then played in the living room with him and his toys. Mama, Daddy, Chase and Sam went for a walk with Chase in his red wagon but Nanaw didn’t go because it was too cold and windy for her. In the afternoon, Mama, Daddy and Chase went to the Christmas party. Mama said Chase seemed to have a really good time, especially playing with Cessie and Mallory and some dolls. He also played with some magnets that belong to Leah’s little boys. Mama got to hold Chase’s new cousin, baby Wesley. Nanaw bought some "school" things for Chase at the Dollar Store: a banner of the alphabet, an airplane coloring book and two crayon sharpeners, one for Nanaw’s house and one for Chase’s house.

Chase’s adventure today was going to Laptime at the Clayton Library. Nanaw had the conversation with Chase about sitting on her lap during story time and song time but it didn’t seem to have any effect on him. During story time and song time, he ran around the room and only sat on Nanaw’s lap for a few moments, along with the little girl Rifka. As Chase and Nanaw were leaving Laptime, they saw little Emily and her mother Susan. Susan said they’d been in the library because Emily had said "No, no, no," when they got to the door of Laptime. Chase fell asleep on the way home from Laptime but when Nanaw put him in his crib, he didn’t go back to sleep and never took a nap. In the afternoon, Chase and Nanaw had "school" and watched the Scout phonics DVD, colored and played with the flash cards.
