First thing on Wednesday, Chase and Nanaw went downstairs to play in Chase's tent. Once again, he brought his stuffed animals from home and his Thomas pillow and Minion pillow. He and Nanaw did their pretend sleep thing, then Chase woke them up by saying cocka-doodle-do like a rooster. The Summer Camp adventure of the day was a visit to the Science Center. Chase requested that the first stop there should be what he calls the "water area." It's in the outdoor section and consists of lots of water things -- pumps, running water, dripping water, buckets -- all the messy, watery things that children love. They also visited the dinosaur dig, the table with the toy dinosaurs, the pretend coal furnace and some of the other energy displays. Chase loves the Science Center and never tires of going around to the displays. He took a nap in the afternoon and wore his My-O-Brace -- hopefully it's helping move his lower teeth back like the dentist wants. Nanaw got bonus time with Chase after she took him home because she had car trouble and had to have Mama come pick her up while she had her car towed to Dobb's. Unfortunately, Chase had misbehaved for Mama so they weren't getting along very well.

Tuesday was the first day of Nanaw's Summer Camp for Chase. First thing in the morning, they went downstairs to play school. Chase said the Pledge of Allegiance and Nanaw joined in. They worked on the calendar, and then they went to play in Chase's tent. Chase got his stuffed animals that he brought from home and his Thomas and Minion pillows. Chase and Nanaw pretended it was time to go night-night. Then they ate pretend pizza and toasted hot dogs and marshmallows. The adventure of the day was a visit to the Magic House. (Chase is going to summer camp there the week of July 17 -- Fantastic Five Senses.) On the way in, Chase and Nanaw looked at the sand beach outside. Nana took a picture of Chase in front of a humongous sand castle. Chase didn't want to go play in the sand. (But then later, as they were walking out to the car, Chase said , "Next time we come, we'll go play in the sand." Then he told Nanaw about the sand foot washing place in Florida. He thinks the Magic House sand place has a foot washer also.) In the Magic House, Nanaw wanted to go see the new Clifford the Big Red Dog display. Chase didn't want to go but Nanaw said they would just take a look. Chase wouldn't stay so they left right away. (Then, halfway through their Magic House visit, Chase said he waned to go back to the Clifford room. This little fellow is a mystery.) In the evening, Chase had a T-ball game, and Nanaw took a cute picture of Chase and his Mama at the game.

Cousin Lindsey and her boyfriend Erik visited Nanaw on Memorial Day after noon; after they visited Jefferson Barracks; then they went to Chase's house to visit. Nanaw went to Chase's house on Monday evening for delicious ribs grilled by Will. Chase and Mama had hot dogs and bratwurst left over from dinner last night. They also had corn on the cob. Mama said they'd been outside playing with Chase since before 11 a.m. They even had lunch outside -- grilled cheese sandwiches with bacon. Dinner was outside also. The TV was outside, and there was an exciting baseball brawl to watch. Chase wanted to play baseball so there was a lot of playing baseball. Chase and Mama also picked up all the toys strewn around the yard. Nanaw told Chase that on Tuesday they would start Nanaw's summer Camp. They're going to the Magic House, and then they'll play baseball in Nanaw's front yard.

Today would have been Grandma and Great-Grandma Marge's 108th birthday. When Nanaw went to visit Chase, she took along a Mother's Day card that Chase's Mama gave to her Grandma Marge in 1992. It had a kitty-cat on the front, and Mama wrote her cat's name by the picture -- Taylor. When Nanaw got to Chase's house, the cars were in the driveway and Mama, Daddy and Chase were playing hockey in the garage, and Nanaw played with them too, Then Mama, Nanaw and Chase played baseball in the backyard. Nanaw stayed for dinner -- not dogs and cheesy bratwursts and Suddenly Salad. Chase sat next to Nanaw at the table, and they played with his new Minecraft game between bites. After dinner, they went to Marie's for ice cream. Chase and Nanaw had hot fudge sundaes and Mama and Daddy had ice cream cones. For Memorial Day, Daddy is going to grill ribs for Nanaw and him. Nanaw posted pictures of chase on vacation on Facebook and said, "Chase is back home from his vacation in Tennessee and Florida with Mama and Daddy. He says his favorite thing was swimming in the pool but it looks like he had loads of fun doing lots of things." Mama put Sam's Memorial Day scarf on him -- he looked very cute in the scarf cousin Nichole made for him.

On Thursday, Nanaw took Tyler back home. She also left the Minecraft toy at Chase’s house on the kitchen table so it would be there when he gets home Saturday night. Nanaw and Sam then headed out to the little house. Unfortunately, Nanaw’s air conditioning in the car didn’t work for awhile, then it started working again. So Nanaw and Chase will probably have to go back to Dobb’s on Tuesday. Nanaw took Sam for a walk at the little house, and he was very happy about that. Mama sent Nanaw a "selfie" of her and Chase – very cute. On Friday, Mama sent Nanaw two photos of Chase in the ocean. Nanaw talked to Mama on the phone and told her that Sam and Nanaw went for a walk and then took a nap. Mama said that Chase was lying on the chaise out on the deck, playing with Daddy’s iPad. Nanaw is very excited that Chase and his family will be home Saturday evening. On Saturday afternoon, Nanaw went to visit her friend Peggy's Open House for Peggy's new granddaughter Georgia Rose. Nanaw gave her a card and money and a pink kitty-cat lovey like Tee Tee. When Nanaw was leaving the party, she talked to Mama on the phone and learned they would be home in a few minutes so Nanaw went to Chase's house to visit them. When Chase saw Nanaw, he stretched out his arms, called out "Nanaw" and ran to her. Best feeling in the world. Chase and Nanaw played with Chase's new Minecraft game, then played hockey and soccer downstairs. Nanaw is very glad that her boy is home.

On Wednesday, Mama, Daddy, Aunt Becca, Uncle Stan and Chase drove to Panama City -- about an hour away -- to see and have lunch with Grandma Pat, Wesley, Aunt Nona, Aunt Kate and Aunt Ginny and other cousins. They all ate lunch at Sharky's Beachfront Restaurant, and Aunt Becca posted a picture of the group at lunch on Facebook. Chase, Wesley and Daddy posed for pictures in front of the Sharky's sign, and Aunt Becca posted them on Facebook. Chase had a lunchable for dinner and Mama had a bite of grouper and leftover pizza and chicken strips. Nanaw misses Chase so much that she bought the Minecraft Hot Wheels toy he wanted from Walmart and sent him a picture of it. Nanaw took Sam for a walk at noon and tried to give him a bonus walk around four but it started to rain so they had to return home.

During the day, Mama, Daddy and Chase went shopping at Skechers. Chase wanted new shoes but Mama said he already had some at home. Of course, Chase went swimming again. The little fellow is going to grow gills and fins. They went shopping for groceries so they could do some grilling on Tuesday night. Mama said they were going to have some kind of fish, hot dogs and chicken wings. Tomorrow they're going to Panama City to see Grandma Pat. They might go visit Mama and Daddy's friend Kannon and his family who are also vacationing down in Florida, about 10 minutes away on Wednesday night. It rained at Nanaw's house on Tuesday, and she wasn't able to take Sam for a walk.

Nanaw and Sam came back from the little house yesterday, and they plan to go back at the end of the week. On Monday, Nanaw took Sam for a nice, long walk in her subdivision. Nanaw really misses Chase and will be so happy when he gets back home on Saturday night. Mama says that for dinner they all went to Jo Jo's Po Boy restaurant in Destin, Florida. Mama tasted shrimp! Staying in the vacation house are: Aunt Becca, Uncle Stan, Uncle Chris, Aunt Kristen, cousin Cessie, cousin Elias, Uncle Chuck, Aunt Kristen, cousin Mallory, plus other friends and family. Mama says the house has nine bedroom and nine bathrooms so there's lots of room. Mama sent Nanaw two pictures of chase and Elias wearing their red noses -- very cute. Aunt Becca posted several photos of the vacation house and the beach on Facebook so Nanaw included those here.
