On New Year's Eve Day, Nanaw went to visit Chase in the middle of the day. Chase and Nanaw played Paw Patrol pop-up for awhile -- a really cute game that Chase really likes. Mama and Daddy were busy cleaning the house for New Year's Eve so Nanaw volunteered to take Chase on an adventure at the Telegraph Road library. She promised him he could play with the eyeball Legos, and Chase was excited about that. Nanaw also promised to bring Mama some books from the library. At the library, Chase and Nanaw played with the Legos and with the little grocery store. Then Chase went to play on the computer. He played with a drawing game and had a grand time with it. In the evening, Chase, Mama and Daddy went to Aunt Becca's and Uncle Stan's house for their New Year's Eve party. Then they came home and Uncle Will-Bill came to spend New Year's Eve with them. Mama let Chase stay up until midnight, which was very exciting for him. Nanaw missed spending New Year's Eve with them but she had a wonderful time at Dan and Sherry's house with Uncle Doug, Aunt Rita, Ryan and his friend Kayla, and Greg. They played games: a fun dice game; Uno and reverse charades.

Chase had a really major adventure on Friday. He went to the Magic House with Mama, Nanaw, Mama's friend Becky from work, and Taylor, Becky's 9-year -old daughter. Chase had a wonderful time with Taylor, the "gril." Becky drove to the Magic House, after she, Mama and Taylor struggled with getting Chase's car seat in Becky's new car, a GMC Acadia. They spent more than three hours at the Magic House, the longest Chase has ever been there. Nanaw thinks they may have seen all of the displays and activities there, a record for Chase. They went to the secret slide, the Mizzou football room, the fish room, the water works, the vet, the grocery store, the hidden staircase, the train display, the Lego cars, Future Play, the craft room, the art room, the shadow room, the hair blowing room, magnets, the pizza place and the chess castle -- plus lots more. Chase held hands with Taylor and dragged her around everywhere. It was so cute to watch him with her. And Taylor was perfect with Chase -- so patient and agreeable and fun. In the evening, Mama, Daddy, Chase and Nanaw went to Tequila's for dinner. Nanaw had steak and French fries and lots and lots of corn chips -- too many, really.

Chase had three adventures on Thursday. His first adventure was a trip to the Telegraph Road library. In the play area, he was so excited to see that they had "eyeball" Legos -- some of the Lego blocks had eyeballs on them. Eyeballs are Chase's most recent obsession so this was totally wonderful for him. Chase's second adventure was a visit to Powder Valley -- he and Nanaw hadn't been there for months so it was very special for both of them. Chase was happy to see Mr. Frog and to see that they had all new puppets in the puppet area. After Powder Valley, Chase and Nanaw went to the Train House to see the train displays one last time before they go away until next year. Chase had his usual popcorn. He had brought the Jingle puppy along with him, and he managed to get Jingle to talk to him twice, which he was very happy about. Nanaw had Chase take a nap when they got home, hoping that it would help his cough for him to get some rest. When Nanaw took Chase home, he and Daddy played the Pop the Pig game, and Nanaw watched them. Then Chase and Daddy went downstairs to play with the Thomas Sky High Bridge Jump, and Chase asked Nanaw to come down and watch so she did.

Chase was an absolute angel today -- so much so that Nanaw didn't want to let him go home -- but she did. In the morning, he told Nanaw that today was Tee Tee's birthday, and that Tee Tee was now six years old. What a funny bunny Chase is. The adventure for Wednesday was a trip to the Magic House -- even though Friday will also be a visit to the Magic House with Mama, her friend Becky and Becky's daughter Taylor (the ones who gave Taylor and Kole kitties to Nanaw.) Chase had been playing with a musical mouse Christmas toy and insisted on taking it along to the Magic House. Chase had a wonderful time at the Magic House, despite how crowded it was. There were so many people there that it was difficult to walk around and get past the people. But Chase loved seeing so many boys and "grils." Chase went to his usual displays -- future Play, the craft room, Lego cars, train display, secret slide pizza place, the hockey room, the bubble room, the airballsand the legislature room. They also visited some places that they haven't seen for awhile: the Mizzou football room, the ball tracks, and the construction area. After they got home, Chase and Nanaw played with the Cars color changing cars and then with the plastic swimming fish in the fish bowl. Chase's cough is still bad so Nanaw made sure that he took a long nap in the afternoon. When Nanaw took Chase home, he insisted on taking the musical mouse toy home with him. He said he wanted to show it to Mama. Nanaw asked when it would come back to her house. And Chase, the funny one, said, "Eleven days." Note: Mama says it's going back to Nanaw's house tomorrow.

Mama and Daddy went back to work on Tuesday, and Chase came to Nanaw's house. First thing, Chase went to his room to play with the Hot Wheels Ultimate Garage and to watch the Rudolph's New Year video. Then Chase and Nanaw went to the Train House to see the train displays and go to the Creation Station. Fortunately, the Creation Station wasn't sold out so they were able to get in. Miss Linda was happy to see them, and Nanaw thanked her for her nice card and message. Chase and Nanaw played with the magnet toys together, and then they played for a long while in the kitchen. Then they spent a lot of time playing at the various train tables. They didn't do any crafts, but Miss Linda showed Nanaw the January craft: a snowman book that's going to be a lot of fun to do. After the Creation Station, they went back out to look at the displays and get Chase's popcorn. Chase's cough was really bad all day, and when they got home from the Train House, she tried the Vick's on the soles of his feet but that didn't seem to help. In the afternoon, Chase and Nanaw played with the Hot Wheels garage again -- he really loves it, and Nanaw's so glad she got it for him. Tomorrow she'll take a picture of it for Days of Chase.

Monday, December 26, 2016

Monday was a holiday for Mama and Daddy, so they were home playing with Chase instead of him being at Nanaw's house. Chase's cough was still bad when he got up in the morning so Mama took him to the doctor. Unfortunately, there wasn't anything the doctor could do or give him to help. In the evening, Nanaw went over to Chase's house for a delicious roast beef dinner. It had been a long time since Nanaw had roast beef, and she was very excited. They also had twice-baked potatoes, and Nanaw got to take a lot of roast beef and a potato home. Even Chase ate some roast beef, to everyone's surprise. After dinner, Mama, Nanaw and Chase played Chutes and Ladders -- it was lots of fun until Chase decided the game was over when he wasn't winning. Then they played the Dory memory game. Nanaw started to play also but it got very confusing so Nanaw became a spectator. After the games, everyone went into the living room to watch the Charlie Brown New Year's show. There was a Rudolph New Year's show on also, and Chase watched part of that before going to bed. Nanaw went home after the Charlie Brown show. When she got home, she recorded the Rudolph show on a DVD for Chase in case he wanted to watch it again.
