When Nanaw took Chase to school on Friday, he did his shy thing again, standing behind her and not wanting to play with the other children. Nanaw hoped that he started having fun after she left. After school, Chase and Nanaw went to Powder Valley. It's been almost two months since the last time they were there -- August 3. Nanaw doesn't know what happened to the time. Chase had a wonderful time visiting all his favorite displays and all the reptiles and bees -- fish, snakes, frogs, turtles, salamanders, a lizard and a tarantula. Toward the end of their visit, Chase said he wanted to go walk on the trail so they did. Then a little way down the path, Chase decided he had to go to the restroom so they went to the building by the trails. So then Chase said he wanted to go on the easy trail, and they did, then went home. Mama had invited Nanaw to go to dinner with them at Hooters on Friday evening so that's what they did when Nanaw took Chase home. Dinner was great, and Chase was very cute, talking to the waitress and playing tic tac toe with her -- she gave him her pen and to Nanaw's surprise he held it almost correctly -- a major learning experience for him. He also knew what month comes after September -- it's so exciting to see all that he's learning. He gets more interesting every day.

When Mama brought Chase over to Nanaw's on Thursday, she brought along his Hi Ho Cherrio game. He had wanted Mama to play with him that morning but Mama said she had to get ready for work but that she would take it along to Nanaw's and Nanaw would play with him. So Chase and Nanaw played many games of Hi Ho Cherrio. Nanaw was very surprised and pleased at how well Chase knew the rules and could play the game. But of course, then he started making up his own rules and changing things around -- very cute. Chase and Nanaw went to the first session of the Creation Station at the Train House, and Miss Linda was very happy to see them. Chase and Nanaw built a very complicated, fancy train track and included one of the four new lighthouses with lights that Miss Linda showed them. Chase was very happy with the lights and played with them for awhile. He also built a very cute house with the mega blocks. Chase had fun running around with the circus train display. He was delighted to see tiny pumpkins decorating the display and one tiny pumpkin inside a box car -- very cute. After Chase got his popcorn, he and Nanaw went to visit the caboose before they left. After the Train House, Nanaw took Chase to Dollar Tree where he got a dart gun and another Hot Wheels car. When they got home, they played with his trains downstairs for awhile and then in his room.

When Nanaw picked up Chase on Wednesday morning, he was so excited to show her the new toy he got Tuesday night at CostCo: a mega truck that had 20 Hot Wheels cars in it. Chase brought along four of his cars to play with -- it was very cute. At school, Nanaw sat and played with the Sesame Street cards with Chase and some of the other boys and girls -- it was fun. After school, Nanaw took a bunch of pictures of Chase signing out and running out of the school room. He showed Nanaw the "mat place" where they store the mats that they take their rest on. Before their rest, the boys and girls do something called the Focus Five -- it's a series of stretches, etc. One of these days soon, Nanaw will find out all the words from Chase and include them here. When Chase and Nanaw got home, they played with the color changing cars, then they played in Chase's room. He wanted to go to Dollar Tree but Nanaw said they would do that tomorrow. When Chase got home, he started playing with his mega truck right away -- he really loves that truck. Nanaw will take a picture of it tomorrow.

Chase and Nanaw had a really busy day on Tuesday. It started out with Chase falling asleep on the couch in Nanaw's living room when Mama dropped him off at 6:45 a.m. -- he didn't wake up until 8:30 a.m. For breakfast, he did a good job of eating some of his Dory cereal Mama bought, plus his usual string cheese and banana. Their first adventure was Story Time at the Telegraph Road library. It was a limited Story Time because the real one doesn't start till next Tuesday. Miss Angie was the teacher, and she did a super job reading books and singing songs. After the library, Chase and Nanaw stopped for gas, then went to the bank (where Chase got a sucker) and the post office (where Chase mailed Nanaw's letter). Next they went to the Magic House where Chase had a great time doing all his favorite activities: the vet, the water works, fishing, the grocery store, the pizza place and the Lego cars. He absolutely loves the Magic House, and Nanaw is glad she got a membership there. When they got home, the roof man came to look at Nanaw's leak. In the evening, Chase went to CostCo with Mama and Daddy to buy treats for school on Friday.

When Nanaw went to Chase's house to pick him up for school, he was sitting at the kitchen table eating a bowl of Dory cereal -- very cute. He said he didn't want to eat breakfast at Nanaw's house. Mama said she would buy some Dory cereal for Nanaw's house. But Nanaw fed Chase his regular banana and string cheese when they got to her house -- Nanaw is all about nutrition and especially protein. When Nanaw took Chase to school, she and Chase and Andrew and another little boy went to look at the aquarium with a dozen tiny fish. They each picked out their favorite color of fish -- it was fun. After school, Chase and Nanaw went to Dollar Tree where Chase got a Hot Wheels car and two little race cars. Next, they went to Petco to see if they could buy one of the Cat's Meow toys for Nanaw's kitties but Petco didn't have it -- so Nanaw ordered the toy from Amazon -- which has everything. Then Chase and Nanaw went to Walmart where Chase got another color changer car -- this time it was Sarge, a jeep that turns brown and green. Chase played with his color changing cars when they got home; Chase also played with the kitten toys, playing a pretend game with Tee Tee and one of toys that Chase decided to call a piƱata -- very funny.

Sunday, September 25, 2016

Daddy had to work again on Sunday, (they're still having system problems) so Mama and Chase had lots of time together. Chase helped Mama clean the bathroom and the living room, and Mama took him to Dollar Tree for presents to reward him for helping. Mama bought him a gun with a ball attached and some little cars. Nanaw came to visit in the evening, and Chase was excited to show Nanaw the presents he got at Little Will's house on Saturday night. Little Will gave Chase a stuffed dinosaur with the letters J W on it. Mama asked if that was for Jehovah's Witness, and everybody laughed at that. J W stands for Jurassic Park. Tyler got a present too -- a treat-dispensing mouse that runs around and shoots out kitten treats -- very cute. Nanaw wants one for her kitties. Mama, Chase and Nanaw took Sam for a walk, even though Nanaw and Mama said they wouldn't do that again because Chase misbehaved on the last walk. But he was much better on this walk. He found pine cones and played with the rocks but was very manageable. Daddy called to say he was on his way home so Mama said they had to turn back so she could get dinner ready. Dinner was "make your own pizza" -- one of Chase's favorites. Chase put lots of pepperoni on his pizza and also in his tummy -- he was very cute. Nanaw said she had to leave but Chase said she had to stay and watch him eat his pizza. But Nanaw said she had to go.

Saturday, September 24, 2016

Nanaw went to visit Chase on Saturday morning, and Mama asked Nanaw to watch Chase while she went to the grocery store. Chase and Nanaw played with his toys in the living room and watched some Tsum Tsum programs on TV. Then Chase said he wanted to go outside and play, so Nanaw got him dressed, and they went outside. Chase played for awhile in the big patch of sand in the middle of the yard where his swimming pooll used to be, and Nanaw swung on his swing -– something she loves to do. When Mama came home from the grocery store, Chase was very excited about all the treats she bought for him: Dory cereal with bits of marshmallow, Swedish fish, and Smarties. Chase and Nanaw were sitting at the kitchen table where Chase was coloring and trying to write letters. To Nanaw’s shock and amazement, he actually can write the letters of his name. He does better with writing capital letters than lower case. Nanaw had no idea that he could actually write the letters – it was a wonderful surprise, and Nanaw told Mama all about it, and she was excited also. Chase was happy to hear that they were going to Auntie LaLa’s on Saturday night, and Chase would get to play with one of his favorite people: Little Will.
