Chase and Nanaw had school downstairs in the school room again Thursday morning. Interestingly enough, it was Chase's idea again. Nanaw is happy that he likes school-related things. They said the pledge of allegiance at Chase's suggestion. Chase read a dinosaur book and did the reading paragraph about crocodiles. Once again, he was delighted to check his answers in the answer key in the back of the book. He did five addition flash cards, and Nanaw got out two more workbooks for him: an addition workbook and a spelling workbook. Chase and Nanaw also colored lots of pictures; then Chase hung them up around the school room so that they could do "write the room" -- an activity Chase did in kindergarten. When the cleaning ladies got here, Nanaw and Chase went to run errands. First, they went to the bank where Chase got his regular sucker. Next, they went to the library. Chase made friends with a little blond girl named Quinn. Quinn's mom said she'll start kindergarten in August at Mosaic, a special elementary school in the Mehlville school district that teaches projects and computers. When they got home, Chase played on the computer for awhile, till Uncle Mike came to cut the grass. In the evening, Chase, Mama and Daddy went to a Grizzlies baseball game with Uncle Joe, Aunt Jen and Jackson.

Chase and Nanaw had another busy day. First thing, they did their school work, downstairs in the school room. Chase read the Dory book, did five addition flash cards and read the paragraph in the reading workbook and answered the questions. His favorite thing is to check the answer key at the back of the book to see if he answered the questions correctly. Then he told Nanaw he wanted to do a science experiment he called what sinks and what floats. Nanaw got out the necessary materials, and they had fun doing the experiment. Chase had popcorn for a snack, rather than eating all the snacks Mama sent for him. In the afternoon, Chase asked Nanaw if they could go to the Magic House. He even said pretty please. So of course Nanaw had to say yes. It had been quite awhile since their last visit, and they had a great time. Chase played a long while in the hockey room, dressing up in all the equipment and posing for pictures. They visited lots of Chase's favorite places and some new ones. He had an especially good time out in the garden, wading in the wading pool. He also did the fish pictures that float on the wall and the airplane pictures on the wall. He loves the Magic House and said he wants to go back tomorrow.

Mama brought books and "amamals" on Tuesday morning for Chase -- including Chase's favorite book: Wally Woof's Missing Bone. Nanaw is writing down all the books they read for the County Library reading program. Chase brought Tee Tee, big Jack and little Jack and BB8. The first thing Chase and Nanaw did was to play a game of Bingo. Tee Tee played with them, and each person had five cards -- it was hard to keep up. A little after 10, Chase and Nanaw went to Sylvan Springs Park by the cemetery so Chase could play in the water area. There were lots of boys and girls there, and Chase had a wonderful time running around in the water, laughing and playing with the other children. After the water park, they went to the Telegraph Road library. Chase picked out another I Spy book. He got two packages Mike and Ike candy out of the "bending" machine -- the first one got stuck so Nanaw had to get another one so the first one would drop down. Chase had a baseball game in the evening, and he got a good hit each of his three at-bats -- he's such a good hitter.

On Monday morning, they Mama and Chase went to Walmart and got a container that fills up water balloons. Mama told Nanaw that Chase played outside on Monday for more than five hours -- from noon till dinner time. Dinner was delicious ribs prepared by Daddy and corn on the cob. Chase really liked the corn and Daddy and Nanaw gave him some of theirs. Nanaw offered to take everybody to Marie's for ice cream after dinner. Mama said that Chase had wanted to show Nanaw his slip and slide after dinner and told him he had to choose either ice cream or the slip and slide. It was a very difficult decision for the little fellow, and he changed his mind a couple of times. He made the final decision of playing with the slip and slide after dinner, and then having some sherbet, so he'd be getting the best result. Nanaw had a great time watching Mama, Daddy and Chase playing the slip and slide -- it was wonderfully funny. Chase took a quick shower after the slip and slide, and then ate his sherbet. Next, he and Nanaw did the paragraph and questions in the reading workbook, did five addition flash cards, and Chase and Nanaw read the Monsters University book Study Up.

Sunday, May 27, 2018

During the day on Sunday Chase played on his trampoline and played baseball -- he's such a little athlete. Nanaw came to visit Chase on Sunday evening after she got back from the little house. They did their school work thing, with Chase reading the Toy Story book, doing the paragraph and questions in the reading book, and five addition flash cards. Chase and Nanaw played hockey in the hall, and Chase kept doing something with the hockey stick and puck/ball that he called dribbling. Nanaw didn’t think there was such a thing as dribbling in hockey so she Googled it. Turns out that Chase, as always was right. There is such a thing as dribbling in hockey. The treat for the evening was wonderful ice cream from Dairy Queen. Daddy went to get the ice cream, and he used the free mini-blizzard coupon that Francis the crossing guard gave to Chase. Mama and Nanaw had hot fudge sundaes with whipped cream and pecans -- yummy Nanaw can't remember what Daddy had.

There was no baseball practice on Saturday morning because Daddy cancelled it. A lot of people had gone out of town for the Memorial Day holiday weekend so there wouldn't have been many boys and girls there for the practice. Nanaw came to visit Chase early Saturday morning before she went out to the little house. Mama went to the grocery store, and Daddy was cleaning the house for the party Saturday night. Chase played on the trampoline, and Nanaw stayed outside with him, walking around the trampoline. They also played baseball for awhile and had a good time. For their school time, Chase read the Wall-E and Eve book, did five addition flash cards, and did a paragraph and questions in the reading book. In the evening party, Mama and Daddy had a party with Uncle Mike, Aunt Becky, Nichole, Auntie LaLa and Uncle Chris. Little Will was supposed to come but he got invited by a friend to a Poison concert and a sleepover, so he didn't come. Chase was disappointed but he still had a good time at the party.

Friday, May 25, 2018

On Friday, both Mama and Daddy were off work. They decided they would all go on an adventure, along with Nanaw. They went to Lone Elk Park, where Mama, Daddy and Chase hadn't visited yet. Nanaw went a long time ago. Nanaw gave Chase a little stuffed bison to take along and keep. At Lone Elk Park, they saw deer, elk and most exciting of all, a small herd of bison. There were five huge bison walking along the road in front of Daddy's truck. They were walking very slowly, in the middle of the road, so Daddy had to go slowly also, following behind them. As they drove, a raccoon started following Daddy's truck, and Chase really liked that. After they got home, Mama, Chase and Nanaw went to Five Below and Dollar General .Mama went to Office Max and picked up the Summer Review documents she had copied for her and Nanaw to work with Chase. In the evening, Mama, Daddy, Chase and Nanaw went to Hooters for dinner. Nanaw had delicious parmesan wings. When they got home, Chase played on his trampoline -- he loves it!
