Unfortunately, the bug was still sick on Tuesday and missed another day of school. That makes three days he's missed. So Chase watched some Roblox videos and played some Roblox games on the laptop. By the way, Chase has decided that the laptop is his -- very cute. Nanaw selected two books for Chase to read for his homework: If You Take a Mouse to School and Rabbit Rescue. The idea for the homework was to determine the setting of the book. Chase correctly said the setting for If You Take a Mouse to School was school, and the setting for Rabbit Rescue was the woods. After Chase finished reading the two books to Nanaw, Chase and Nanaw played hockey in the hall. When Nanaw took Chase home, they got caught in traffic and were late, as usual. Nanaw is always late, always doing one last thing. Silly Nanaw.

Mama texted Nanaw Monday morning to say that Chase was still sick and wasn't going to school. Nanaw offered to take him to the doctor but he told Mama he didn't want to go. Nanaw went to pick Chase up, and he fell asleep on the way over to her house. He seemed really tired and listless, and Mama and Nanaw were worried about him. So Nanaw took him to the doctor's office. They had Dr. Matt who is Dr. Charles' son. Dr. Charles was Chase's first pediatrician but he's now retired. Dr. Matt gave Nanaw lots of information but the bottom line is there isn't much you can do about a stomach bug or gastroenteritis. Chase also has an ear infection, and Dr. Matt prescribed amoxicillin for that. Chase was tired and without energy all day. He spent time on the futon watching the weather channel with his stuffed "amamals." He also watched some videos on Roblox. Then he crawled onto Pawpaw's bed and took a 3 1/2 hour nap -- amazing. When he woke up, he was almost his old self, and Nanaw was very happy about that. Daddy caught what Chase has and stayed home from work today.

Chase slept well at Nanaw's house Saturday night. They both awoke at 8 a.m. when the alarm went off. Chase ate the chocolate mini donuts Mama sent for his breakfast but not the powdered sugar mini donuts. Mama came to pick Chase up at 9:30 a.m. and right before they were leaving, Chase ran to the bathroom to throw up so he's not well yet. They were supposed to go to Helping Strays on Sunday afternoon to do Rescue Readers and read to Koda if she was still there, but they didn't go because Chase wasn't feeling well. Nanaw came over for steak dinner, and she brought two of Chase's chapter books to have him choose which one to read. He chose the Chicken Squad book, and Nanaw read several chapters. Then Chase and Nanaw went to his room to play with his stuffed "amamals" on his bed.

Nanaw was so excited about Chase's sleepover on Saturday night. It's been awhile since he spent the night with her. Nanaw went to pick up Chase at about 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. One the way home, they went to the Telegraph Road library to return a book. Chase waited in the car, and on her way out of the library, Nanaw saw William, one of the boys from Chase's class. His Mama was returning a big basket of books for William and his brother. Nanaw told William how Chase had deleted one of his Roblox usernames, and all the games Daddy had purchased for him along with it. Daddy was not happy about that. In the afternoon and part of the evening, they watched the three Toy Story movies that were on the Freeform channel. For dinner, Chase and Nanaw went to McDonald's and had a great time. Next, they went to Dollar Tree and bought some color by number and painting pictures. On their way home, Nanaw drove by Chase's new school and took a picture of it. Chase is very excited about going to his new school next year. When they got home, Chase and Nanaw played baseball in the front yard. Chase got lots of hits, as usual, but Nanaw only got one, also as usual. In the evening, Chase watched Roblox videos for awhile, and then he and Nanaw played hockey in the hall. Chase took a long bath in the garden tub, and then went to bed.

Despite throwing up and being home from school yesterday, Chase seemed fine on Friday morning and went to school. His classmates were happy to see him, and Nanaw apologized to Mrs. Neff for not being there on Thursday to do her volunteer work. Chase had left his Cardinals water bottle in the classroom so Nanaw took it home with her. When Nanaw picked Chase up from school, he gave her a big hug, which made her very happy. On the way home, they went to the Telegraph Road library to get books for Mama. Nanaw got lots of books and checked her reading history to make sure she wasn't checking out any books that Mama had already read. Chase got Cheez-Its from the vending machine. When they got home, Uncle Mike was at Nanaw's house to cut the grass, and Chase was happy to see him. Chase played Roblox on the computer for awhile, as usual. Nanaw is getting concerned about his screen time. Mama was going out to dinner with a friend so Chase and Daddy had a father and son evening at home. Daddy went to Dairy Queen to get dinner for Chase, Grandma Pat and himself.

Thursday was Blues dress-down day at Chase's school, and Chase wore his blues jersey from little Will. Some of the boys and girls didn't have on Blues clothes but wore their blue shirts, and Nanaw told them that counted. Thursday was also the day Nanaw was supposed to volunteer in Chase's class. But just as Nanaw was leaving the house to go to the school, Mama called and said the school had called to tell her that Chase had thrown up. So Nanaw went to pick him up. He threw up in church, and he said a kindergarten girl threw up in church also. Nanaw took Chase home and put him back in his pajamas and washed his clothes. She asked him what happened, and he said, "It was cause and effect. The cause was that my belly hurt, and I coughed. The effect was I threw up." What a kid! Nanaw had Chase take a nap for awhile, with all his stuffed "amamals." He played the Roblox game Nanaw created (she created it sort of accidentally), and then other Roblox games. Chase and Nanaw went downstairs and played for awhile. Then they played in his room until it was time for Nanaw to take Chase home.

On Wednesday morning, while Chase was getting dressed, Nanaw discovered that his belt wasn't in the Thomas bag so they went to Chase's house to get a belt. Nanaw texted Mama and left a voice mail message for her, trying to find out where the belt was. When Mama called back, she said the belt might be in the laundry, still in Chase's pants from yesterday, and there it was. Mama had sent a bag of snacks for Chase, and Nanaw put them in his backpack. It was raining outside, and Nanaw told Chase he might have inside recess today. Chase said he liked that idea because when they had inside recess, they got to play with their iPads. Chase told Nanaw to work on building a Roblox game for him. It was raining again when Nanaw went to pick up Chase. Mama had sent along his Paw Patrol umbrella so Nanaw took it with her. Emma and Jessa were there at the pickup place waiting for their brothers, and they wanted to hold the Paw Patrol umbrella so Nanaw let them, and she took their picture. Nanaw still hasn't learned how to build Roblox games but she eventually will, and that will make Chase happy.

When Nanaw took Chase to school on Tuesday morning, they were both suffering from "Back to School-itis" after Chase's Easter break. Nanaw saw that all the lights were on in Chase's classroom. This usually means that his teacher isn't there, and they have a substitute because his teacher keeps the lights dim in the morning. But yay she was there. Nanaw told her about the light thing, and the teacher laughed and said it was hard to get back in the swing of things after the long break. Nanaw laughed and said she and Chase were going through the same thing. Chase didn't have any snacks in his backpack so Nanaw asked Mama to bring some tomorrow. Chase and Nanaw discovered that the Roblox book Nanaw bought for Chase for Easter tells you how to build games using Roblox. So the plan is for them to learn how to do game building and then build games. In the evening, Daddy went bowling so Chase and Mama had a night together.

Chase had the day off from school on Monday, the last day of his Easter break. Nanaw had big plans for them to visit the Science Center. Nanaw was worried that the Science Center would be too crowded for Chase, but fortunately it wasn't. The weather outside was wonderful, and it looked like everybody was going to the Zoo and not the Science Center. Chase had a super great time playing with his old favorites, new favorites and new things. First, he played with the Mars Lander, and then on the way into the regular Science Center, the Lunar Landing. They went to the Makerspace area and made some sailboats to race. Chase also played with the air balls. Chase and Nanaw were interested to see the construction in the former classroom area but have no idea what's going there. The dinosaur dig area was closed for construction, and they wondered what was going to happen to it. One of the Chase's favorite things is the water area outside; because of the nice weather, it was open and Chase spent a long time out there. He and Nanaw also visited the chickens. Finally, they went to Chase's favorite new area: the game room. They spent a really long time there, and Chase had lots of fun trying everything out. On the way home, Nanaw's car began acting up so they went to Dobb's. Fortunately, Nanaw had packed food for them to take along on their Science Center adventure; plus, she had lots of things for Chase to do: a deck of cards, his Pokemon cards; his Roblox book; and the iPad, iPhone and iPod. They had to wait four hours at Dobb's but had plenty to eat and plenty to do.

Chase and Daddy went to church on Easter Sunday morning. Then Chase had an Easter egg hunt outside. Then Mama said they had to hide the eggs again for more Easter egg hunts, inside and outside. Only Chase. In the evening, they came over to Nanaw's house for Easter dinner. Nanaw made mostacciolli, and everyone said it was very good. They also had ham and lots of desserts that Mama brought. Nanaw put candy in 20 plastic Easter eggs and hid them in the living room and dining room for Chase to find. After dinner, all the boys and men went out to Nanaw's back yard to move the trampoline from Nanaw's back yard back to the neighbor's back yard. The wind had blow it over to Nanaw's yard last Sunday. Nanaw bought Chase a Roblox book and a soccer ball Easter basket, and he was very happy about it. Nanaw is happy that Chase has one more day off from school for his Easter break so she can spend the whole day with him. They're planning to go to the Science Center on Monday.

Mama, Daddy, Chase and Grandma Pat went to Aunt Becca's for the family Easter dinner. Mama says Chase had a wonderful time playing baseball with his cousins and having an Easter egg hunt. He brought home lots of candy and toys. Mama said her party potatoes were a big hit and were completely eaten. Mama also had lots of desserts because she had given up anything sweet for Lent. Chase had ice cream and popcorn on Saturday, the two things he gave up for Lent. Grandma Pat made ambrosia salad for the Easter dinner, and Nanaw got a special container of it, plus eating a big bowl while she was visiting Chase. When Nanaw first got to Chase's house, she had him read a Biscuit story and do an addition page in the workbook. Then they watched the Blues playoff game for awhile. They went downstairs to play hockey. Chase was the Pittsburgh Penguins and Nanaw was the Montreal Canadiens. Both of those team were eliminated from the playoffs so Chase and Nanaw had their own Stanley Cup playoffs. And the Canadiens won!! After playing hockey, Chase and Nanaw went upstairs to watch the end of the Blues game with Mama and Daddy. And the Blues won! Yay!
