Happy Halloween! Saturday, October 31, 2015

Chase and Daddy went out to Wentzville on Saturday to visit "Grumma" -- Grandma Pat -- to show her Chase's Captain America costume and to do "Trick or Treat" with her. In the evening, Nanaw came over for a delicious Halloween chili dinner and to go Trick or Treating with Chase. Daddy helped Chase get into his Captain America costume, and then Daddy and Nanaw took pictures of Chase -- the little fellow did a great job of posing. Daddy and Nanaw took Chase for his first round of Trick or Treating, and he quickly got into the swing of things and became a champion Trick or Treater. He walked right up to people's front doors, knocked or rang the doorbell, said, "Trick or Treat" and "Thank you," when they gave him candy. He kept saying, "Now let's go to this house." For his second round of Trick or Treating, Mama and Nanaw took him on Mama's favorite route to the houses with Mama's favorite dogs. Daddy, Mama and Nanaw were very proud of Chase -- he had a perfect Halloween adventure.

Friday. October 30, 2015

Mama had the day off from work Friday so she went to the Train House with Chase and Nanaw. Miss Linda was very happy to see all of them. Chase and Mama played with the puppets and with the train tables. chase and Nanaw shoed Mama the new giggling Troublesome Trucks, and Mama liked them. Chase made another craft, and Nanaw helped with it. After the Creation Station, Chase, Mama and Nanaw rode the train. Then they went up the hill to visit and climb on the trains. Next, they went to look at the antique cars. Then it was time for popcorn, Nanaw's favorite part of the visit. Their last adventure at the Train House was visiting the caboose. After the Train House, they went to Target to get a new bedroom lamp for Mama and Payday candy bars. Mama bought Chase a ghost flashlight as his Halloween present. It was Mama and Daddy's fifth wedding anniversary, and Nanaw took care of Chase while they had dinner at Outback, and then went to see the movie "Bridge of Spies." Chase and Nanaw went to Dollar Tree again for toy day -- lots more cars, airplanes, a Slinky, another doctor's kit and a Bingo game. Nanaw built another fire, and Chase liked it. Nanaw liked getting to spend so much extra time with Chase.

Thursday, October 29, 2015

Chase's first adventure for the day was going to Story Time at the Telegraph Road Library with Miss Kim. She read several monster stories and sang several monster songs. She announced that next week's Story Time is the day for free books so Chase and Nanaw will have to make sure to come. After Story Time, Chase and Nanaw went to Walmart. Then Daddy came to pick Chase up around 2 p.m. because Nanaw had a doctor's appointment with Dr. Konkol. After her doctor's appointment, Nanaw went to pick up Chase. He was spending the night with Nanaw while Mama and Daddy went to the hockey game -- Mama was very excited because she was getting a Shattenkirk bobblehead. Chase and Nanaw went to the Dollar Tree Store -- Nanaw told Chase it was toy day at Dollar Tree. Chase got another Yoda bag, some police cars and Army cars. Then Chase and Nanaw went to McDonald's for dinner. When Chase and Nanaw got home, Nanaw built a fire in the fireplace, much to Chase's delight. They watched the Charlie Brown Halloween special, also to Chase's delight. As a special treat, Nanaw got out Chase's Lincoln Logs, and Chase and Nanaw built log houses -- well, Nanaw built the houses and Chase knocked them down.

Wednesday, October 28, 2015

Mama sent Nanaw two photos from Tuesday night's hockey game -- she and Chase sat in the Wells Fargo Advisers box, and Chase loved it and had a great time. He'll never want to go back to sitting in regular seats. Wednesday was a major big day for Chase -- it was his first school Halloween party, and he got his first school report card (they call it a progress report). Before school at Nanaw's house, Chase put on his Captain America mask all by himself -- quite a surprise. Mama and Nanaw didn't think he'd want to wear the mask. At school, Chase saw Alena in her Elsa outfit and Brady in his firefighter outfit. One of the little boys, Will, wore a recycling truck costume his grandpa made -- cutest costume ever. When Chase came out of school, he ran to Nanaw and kissed and hugged her again, just like Monday. Nanaw doesn't know what's going on. He used to come out and hang on to one of the pillars, and Nanaw had to coax him over to her. Nanaw really likes the new way. At the Halloween party, the kids made witch's hats. They got a little trick or treat box with glow in the dark sticks, a tiny Slinky, M&Ms, a fruit cup and silly putty. Chase did well on his first report card. It rated the children on what things they can do and what things they can't do. Chase had more check marks on the things he can do than on the things he can't do. Daddy, Mama and Nanaw are very proud of him. On the way home from school, Chase and Nanaw went to the library to make copies of Chase's report card for Nanaw and to pick up two cool best-sellers for Mama. Chase played with the Star Wars game while Nanaw skimmed through some new writing books.
