Chase seems to love playing in the living room with his assortment of toys so Nanaw named it "Chase’s Magic Kingdom." One of his favorite toys seems to be the "Rocket Car" from Aunt Carol at UMSL. He presses the buttons to make the rocket sounds and all on his own, discovered the storage compartment under the seat. This morning Chase climbed into the bottom of the bassinet and proceeded to toss out the toys stored in there – and he seemed quite pleased with his actions. At lunchtime, Chase sat in the high chair to eat bananas that Mama had cut up for him –and he managed to get banana all over his clothes so Nanaw had to change his outfit again. Sam’s toy of the day is his skeleton, a Halloween present from Mama that’s similar to Chase’s Jack.

Today was Election Day, and it marked Chase’s first visit to the polls. He wore his tiger outfit and was quite the hit with the poll workers at The Falls, where Nanaw voted, using the electronic ballot, which was fun. Nanaw took a picture of Chase in front of the waterfall and the pond with huge fish at The Falls. After voting, Chase and Nanaw went to the Post Office, and then returned Madagascar to the library. Mama said Chase slept through most of it it so we’ll have to try it again someday. The last stop on the day’s adventure was Walmart where Nanaw took pictures of Chase in front of the Christmas trees and bear and with the inflatable Santa and snowman. Nanaw also finally took a picture of Chase’s vampire teeth: his two upper incisors. Mama, Daddy, chase, Sam and Nanaw took a walk in the dark, spitting rain after Daddy got home from the polls – they all enjoyed it despite the rain. Sam’s toy of the day was his vampire loofah, one of his Halloween presents.

Mama and Daddy had the day off, and they spent a lot of time playing with baby Chase. When Mama and Daddy went shopping at Best Buy to get a birthday present for Uncle Mike, they dropped baby Chase off at Nanaw's house. He seemed to have lots of fun, first in the bugaboo chair and then in the Pack n Play. He also seemed to enjoy seeing his kitties running around. In the evening, Mama cut up a banana for Chase, and he seemed to like it, despite how slippery it was to pick up. He also had his first taste of apple juice, and Mama said it was a big hit.

Once again, Chase had a huge Teddy Bear pancake for breakfast at the Rockbridge restaurant, and he seemed to have a great time eating some pieces and throwing even more pieces on the floor around his high chair. Daddy was the champion fish-catcher with six trout. The total caught by Uncle Mike, Aunt Becky and Daddy was 12 trout, which will be used for a family fish fry and Words with Friends tournament in January. Mama fished for a little while on Saturday but didn’t catch anything, and she decided she wasn’t a great fan of fishing. Chase was a good traveler on the way home and slept most of the trip.

Chase had his first pancake, a huge Teddy Bear pancake for breakfast at the Rockbridge restaurant, and he seemed to have a great time eating pieces of it and throwing pieces on the floor around his high chair. Everybody (including Sam) took a major nature trail walk through the woods, and Daddy used the harness for the first time to carry Chase. It’s sort of a long, hilly, scary walk but Chase fell asleep about halfway through the adventure. Aunt Becky taught Chase how to play with an ice cube at the table, and he seemed to have great fun with that. In the evening, we built a fire in the fire pit and brought the TV outside to watch "Arctic Blast," a really bad disaster movie that Mama selected. We were supposed to toast marshmallows but everyone was too full from dessert at dinner time: brownie hot fudge sundae, strawberry cheese cake and Oreo pie.

Today was the first day of Chase's first trip to Rockbridge, the trout fishing resort in southern Missouri. Chase rode in Nanaw's Escape with Mama, Daddy, Sam and Nanaw. Uncle Mike and Aunt Becky were in the blue van with most of Chase's equipment: the stroller, the Pack n Play and Nanaw's bugaboo chair. Chase and Sam were really good travelers, and they both slept for a long while during the trip. Chase had mashed potatoes for lunch and seemed to enjoy them. Mama, Chase. Sam and Nanaw took a long walk to where Daddy, Aunt Becky and Uncle Mike were fishing. Before dinner, everyone but Sam went to the Grist Mill Club where Mama made friends with people at the bar, and Nanaw was excited to get her soda in a Rockbridge cup. At dinner, we had ordered mashed potatoes and applesauce for Chase but he fell asleep at dinner,, and we had to cancel his order. Everyone went to bed early so there was no bonfire in the burn pit.

Mama was off work today, and she had a dentist appointment first thing in the morning, then we went shopping. Our shopping adventure included Walmart where we shopped for snacks for the Rockbridge trip. We also went to South County Mall where Mama and Nanaw bought new shoes at Famous Shoes. Our eating adventure was at White Castle. Chase had some of Mama’s French fries and cheeseburger and seemed to enjoy playing with the Whitey’s burger boxes.
