Chase and Nanaw had several adventures today getting ready for Mama’s birthday celebration tomorrow. They took a photo (shown below) of Mama and Chase to Walmart to have it printed out as one of her birthday presents – it shows Mama holding Chase and he’s reaching a hand up to her face – very sweet. They also got a balloon, ice cream, a box of turtles and candles at Walmart, then went to MarketPlace to get the frosting for Mama’s cherry chip cake and to Hallmark for a birthday card. Nanaw saw a huge Jingle at Hallmark and took a picture of it. They made a second trip to Walmart in the afternoon and Chase fell asleep in the shopping cart.

Chase had a quiet day, watching football on television with Mama and Daddy. Nanaw came over in the late afternoon to play with Chase and take photos of him for Days of Chase. Chase and Nanaw played with the two new cars Mama and Daddy bought him for his garage, and Nanaw read the Snuggle Puppy book to Chase. Nanaw took home her set of the Nanaw- Nanaw- Nanaw keys, plus a big bag of food for Chase to eat at Nanaw’s house.

Chase woke up about 7 this morning at Nanaw’s house, after his sleepover. Mama called Nanaw at 8:30 and asked when she would get her baby back. Nanaw laughed and said she was keeping Chase. But then Nanaw said they’d be there in a few minutes. Daddy, Mama and Chase went on a shopping trip to Sports Authority and Babys R Us. Chase got some new little cars for his garage, plus two sets of Nanaw keys. His first set that he got from the library for participating in the baby reading program doesn’t work anymore. Mama sent Nanaw a picture of Chase at McDonald’s at lunchtime, eating French fries. He also had cheeseburger and apples.

Today Chase had two adventures: going to Clayton Laptime and having a sleepover at Nanaw’s house. Once again, Chase seemed to have a wonderful time at Laptime. He played with the fabric trucks, the rattling toys and the balls. He also went over to the speakers where the music was playing and danced – very cute. In the afternoon, Chase and Nanaw played with his toys in his room and Nanaw had fun and Chase seemed to. At five, Chase and Nanaw went to his house so he could see his Mama and Daddy before they went out to dinner at Scape in the Central West End and to see the Wicked musical at the Fox. Back at Nanaw’s house, they watched Chase’s Jingle DVD in the living room, then went into Chase’s room to play with toys. Chase finally fell asleep around 8:30 p.m., and Nanaw sent a photo of the sleeping bugaboo to Mama.

Daddy worked at home again today so Chase came over to Nanaw’s house. Chase and Nanaw ran errands for a couple of hours in the morning while Nanaw’s cleaning lady was at the house. They went to the bank for money, to the library and to Walmart. At the library, Nanaw parked Chase in the stroller and herself in the children’s section. Chase seemed to take great delight in watching the little boys and girls who were there selecting books to check out. At Walmart, they discovered the Keurig coffee kiosk that Mama was looking for and sent her a picture of it. Back at home, Chase and Nanaw played in his Magic Kingdom annex. He has a Mickey Mouse balloon from his birthday at Nanaw’s house, and it seems to be his favorite thing to play with. He walks around holding the string in one hand and some other toy in the other hand – very cute. Nanaw tried to show Chase the gate that Uncle Mike and Aunt Becky built for him (And which the cats seem to enjoy crawling through), but Chase didn’t pay any attention.

Today was Daddy’s first day of working at home so Chase came over to Nanaw’s house. Chase was a happy, smiley bugaboo today, even more so than usual. In the afternoon, Uncle Mike, Aunt Becky and cousin Lindsey came over. Uncle Mike and Aunt Becky came to build a wonderful gate for the top of Nanaw’s staircase to protect baby Chase from falling down the steps. Chase seemed to have a wonderful time playing with cousin Lindsey. Nanaw and Lindsey put the books from Uncle Doug in Chase’s room, and he spent a lot of time pulling them off the bookshelves. Later, Chase sat in his high chair and then his bugaboo chair in the living to watch Uncle Mike and Aunt Becky work on the gate. He had his own tool box to play with while he watched them. Nanaw and Lindsey took Chase home but Nanaw didn’t stay for experimental dinner. Nanaw took pictures of a neighbor’s snow family and the beautiful sunset and added them at the end of the page.

Chase had an exciting New Year’s Day breakfast: a pancake and his first piece of bacon, Mama said he seemed to like both of them. In the afternoon, Mama, Daddy and Chase went to Best Buy so Daddy could buy a case for his new iPad mini. Daddy got to see what a good shopper Chase is, how observant he is of the people in the store, and also how he sits looking forward in the shopping cart so he can see where he’s going. Nanaw came over in the late afternoon to play with Chase and to pick up yummy New Year’s Eve food for her dinner. Chase played with his new steering wheel/airbag toy. Chase decided it was time for his dinner, and he had a meatball and a Little Smokie, which he seemed to like.
