Chase and Nanaw spent the day at Chase’s house. Chase seemed to have fun feeding the chicken pieces he was supposed to be eating to Sam – Chase was sitting in his high chair in the kitchen and threw the pieces toward Sam and laughed when Sam ate them. Chase did all kinds of interesting things today: putting the shape sorter shapes into the box rather than just dumping them out; making a tower out of two of the shapes, then knocking it over; sitting on Nanaw’s lap and having her read the book "Goodnight Spot" over and over again and clapping each time the book was over. When Mama and Daddy got home from work, the whole family went for a walk. Sam’s toy of the day was a blue rubber animal he got for Christmas.

Chase spent the day at Nanaw’s house and brought Traveling Tennessee Puppy Love with him (Nanaw promised to not let him get lost – Tennessee, not Chase). The first two photos below are of Chase and Tennessee. Chase and Nanaw played with the two puppets (Cookie Monster and what Nanaw thought was a groundhog). Mama pointed out that it was a beaver, and Daddy agreed. For the second day, Chase threw aside the big toy blocking the corridor around his crib and walked around the crib, grinning and making sure that Nanaw was watching him do what he wasn’t supposed to do. Chase also couldn’t open the drawer on a little plastic chest in his room so he pulled the whole thing apart to get at what he wanted in the drawer – such a resourceful little fella.

Chase’s adventure for the day was Laptime at Tesson Ferry library. After the stories and the songs, Miss Lisa put out the box of books and Chase was the first one over there to get a book. He then proceeded to run around the room, locating each of the three doors. He seemed to have a great time playing with a little boy named Vince. They chased each other around the chairs, and Chase was laughing like crazy. Then Vince and Chase played at one of the doors, and Chase waved to a lady on the other side of the door. Nanaw came over to Chase’s house for Mama’s delicious experimental dinner – pepper steak. Nanaw brought the Cookie Monster and groundhog puppets along so Mama could see how Chase played with them.

Chase spent the day at Nanaw’s and seemed to have lots of fun. First thing in the morning, he watched the Ansani the Spider puppet DVD. For lunch, he had cheese ravioli and green beans – he’s such a good eater! Chase and Nanaw played with a Cookie Monster puppet and a groundhog puppet. Chase would hold out his arm for Nanaw to put the puppet on it – it was very cute. Nanaw let him climb up the flight of stairs from downstairs, and he seemed to enjoy it. He kept turning around to make sure that Nanaw was right behind him. He also played with his little chair, sitting on it, then climbing on it. He’s become quite the climber and seems to be very proud of himself when he climbs. He spent time watching Disney Jr. on Nanaw’s iPad, then watched a slideshow of Chase photos in Dropbox on Nanaw’s computer downstairs. He seems to like seeing pictures of himself.

Grandma Pat spent the night at Chase’s house, and they all had pancakes for breakfast Sunday morning. Grandma Pat brought Chase an exciting present - a blue rubber ball that lights up and is covered with strands. Chase, Daddy and Grandma Pat went to mass Sunday morning, and Daddy said Chase was quite vocal. While Daddy and Chase took Grandma Pat home to Wentzville, Mama went vacation shopping at Gravois Bluffs with Aunt Alice. Mama bought lots of new clothes for Chase, plus a vacation toy for Sam and two books for Chase. Mama also bough a Fisher-Price Little People Nativity scene for Chase that Nanaw really wants. Nanaw came to visit and to take pictures of Chase. He was roaming around the house, seeming to have a grand time giving toys to Sam and playing with Mama’s little flashlight.

Chase’s first adventure today was going shopping with Mama and Nanaw while Daddy delivered Uncle Chris’s 1/8 of a cow and picked up Grandma Pat to spend the night. First, Mama, Chase and Nanaw went to Walmart to look at toys – Chase looked super cool in his combat boots that Nichole gave him. Mama wanted to buy Chase a Fisher-Price Little People zoo but Walmart didn’t have one. So Mama bought him the long-promised, long-awaited popcorn popper. Then they went grocery shopping at Schnucks. Chase fell asleep on the way home so Mama dropped Chase and Nanaw at Nanaw’s house for Chase to take a nap while Mama went home and put away the groceries. Later, Mama picked up Chase and Nanaw and they went to Taco Bell for lunch where Chase had a soft taco. Their next stop was Best Buy where Mama bought Chase a boom box for his room and two toddler music CDs. Later, Daddy, Mama, Chase and Grandma Pat went to a Boy Scout spaghetti dinner with Uncle George, Aunt Sharon, Kyle and Nicholas.

Friday, March 1, 2013

Mama took pictures of Chase in his camouflage robe after last night’s bath and Nanaw included one below. Mama bundled up Chase first thing in the morning, including his snow boots, for the trip to Nanaw’s house. Nanaw let Chase walk around in the snow at her house, and he seemed fascinated by the snow. Chase’s adventure today was Clayton Laptime. He impatiently jumped around on Nanaw’s lap for the story time and the songs, seemingly anxious for playtime with the toys and the other children. He’s very social and walks around looking at the other children and their parents and seems fearless. Interestingly enough, he lets the children take toys out of his hands and doesn’t fuss – unlike when Mama, Daddy or Nanaw takes away something and chaos ensues.
