Chase’s adventure today was a long visit from Uncle Mike and Aunt Becky. Uncle Mike came to help Nanaw take down her Christmas tree and to take down the outdoor lights. Cha se seemed absolutely delighted to see Uncle Mike and Aunt Becky. He did his cute little flirty thing with them. He helped take the ornaments off the Christmas tree – he always tries to help with things. Uncle Mike helped Chase climb up the tall ladder, and Chase seemed to get a big kick out of climbing the ladder. Before his nap, Chase asked Uncle Mike to go downstairs and play Lincoln Logs with him so Uncle Mike did. When it was time for Chase’s nap, Uncle Mike promised him he’d still be there when Chase woke up and that he’d play Lincoln Logs again. So that’s what they did. It was so cute to see Uncle Mike try to build little houses with the Lincoln Logs and Chase would knock them down before they were completed. Chase was very entertaining to Uncle Mike – he even sang Holly Jolly Christmas for him.

Nanaw went to visit Chase on Sunday evening and ended up staying for a delicious dinner of crockpot roast beef – yummy. Chase and Daddy were playing kick with all the balls in the kitchen and Nanaw joined in. Chase seemed to be okay that all the Christmas decorations were down – Mama told him they’d be back next Christmas and that’s what he told Nanaw. He also told Nanaw that the running trains at the Train House would be back next Christmas. Nanaw took Chase to sit on the potty but he still didn’t do anything. After dinner, Chase, Daddy and Nanaw played (or tried to play) Hi Ho Cherry-O (which Chase got for Christmas from Uncle Chris) in the living room but Chase had his own way of playing the game. After that game, Mama, Chase and Nanaw played pop-up Thomas, a game Mama bought for Chase at Five Below. But once again, Chase had his own way of playing the game so Mama and Nanaw let him do what he wanted. Later in the evening, Mama called Nanaw to tell her that Daddy had decided he wanted to have a potty chair for Chase instead of just a potty ring. So Mama ordered a Thomas potty chair from Amazon, along with a Thomas step stool. They should arrive on Wednesday.

Nanaw went to visit Chase on Saturday morning. They played "kick" with Daddy and all of Chase’s balls in the kitchen. Then they went downstairs to play with Chase’s trains. They started Thomas on the Avalanche, then Nanaw took Chase upstairs because it seemed like he wanted to sit on the big boy potty. He sat on it, but as usual didn’t do anything. When Chase and Nanaw went back downstairs, good old Thomas was still running on the Avalanche. They shut everything down downstairs and went up to play kick again. In the afternoon, Chase and Daddy went to visit Grandma Pat and Aunt Patty. After that visit, Chase and Daddy went to see Uncle Chris, Aunt Kristen, Cessie and Elias. Chase always likes to see and play with his cousins Cessie and Elias. While Daddy and Chase were gone, Mama took down the Christmas tree and the Christmas decorations. Chase didn’t nap on the drive home so he didn’t go to church with Daddy when they got home – he took a nap instead because he’d had a long and busy day.

Chase’s Friday adventure was a trip to the Train House (Museum of Transportation). Nanaw was worried that Chase would be upset because the volunteers would be taking down the Christmas train displays. But he seemed all right with it. The 9:15 session of the Thomas tables was sold out so Chase and Nanaw waited around for the 10:30 session. Chase watched the men packing up the trains, and he seemed to enjoy that. He got to see Thomas, Toby, and James in their boxes. He also colored for awhile, and had his first drink out of a drinking fountain, which he really seemed to like doing. In the Thomas table room, he played with the trains and Cranky the Crane for a long time. He also colored, played with the puzzles and played with the sectional magnetic trucks. He spent a long while in the kitchen, playing with the food, stove and cabinets. Nanaw was happy that Chase was back to his old self, wanting to play in the Thomas tables room. For a month or so, when the train displays were running, he wouldn’t go into the Thomas tables room. Mama brought Mufasa home from the bet hospital at noon, and Chase and Nanaw went to Walmart to pick up medicine for him. In the evening, Chase got to stay with Nanaw for several hours Mama and Daddy went to a happy hour. Nanaw built a small fire for Chase while the ate dinner, then played the yule log video with the cat for Chase – he seemed to enjoy it, especially the cat.

In the morning, Nanaw went with Mama to the vet emergency room to visit Mufasa. Unfortunately, the intravenous fluid didn’t work for him, and the vet says there isn’t much they can do for him except put him on special kidney food. Mama is very sad about her 13-year-old kitty and hopes he can come home tomorrow. Mama and Nanaw went to Schnucks and Nanaw bought the cherry chip cake and frosting for Mama’s birthday cake and also some of the windmill cookies Mama liked when she was a little girl. In the evening, Nanaw went to Chase’s house for dinner. Daddy made chili for dinner, along with gluten-free pasta and pizza rolls. Chase and Nanaw played with his trains in the kitchen, the hall and his room. They also played with his kitchen. Then Chase showed Nanaw how he plays Paw Patrol on his Leap Pad. It was a fun evening for Nanaw.
