On Sunday morning, Mama sent Nanaw a picture of Chase dressed in his church clothes, ready to go to church with Daddy. Nanaw came to visit Chase on Sunday evening and played outside with him for awhile. Mama said he'd spent a lot of time playing outside that day -- Chase will be so happy when spring and summer get here. Daddy was grilling hot dogs for dinner. Chase wore his Mizzou hat, and it was very cute. When he came into the house, he threw the hat on the kitchen floor, and Tyler began to sneak up on the hat to attack it -- very funny. Mama gave Nanaw some of the crockpot chicken she'd fixed on Saturday evening for Jackson and his parents. It was chicken breast, cheese, cream cheese and crumbled bacon -- it was delicious and so were the party potatoes -- Nanaw enjoyed the leftovers. After dinner, Mama, Chase and Nanaw used a paint set Mama got Chase for Christmas. The paint set had three containers of paint, paper to paint on and sponge stamps. The stamps were animals: dogs, duck, cow, pig, cat, etc. They all had a great time painting and making a big mess. Mama decided the paint was too messed up to save so they dumped them altogether to make a yucky brown pot of paint.

Chase's adventure on Saturday was a very special one: Jackson and his mom and dad came over for the evening. The boys played outside for awhile, and then came inside when Nanaw came for a visit. Nanaw played in Chase's room with boys. Jackson was on the bed holding Tyler, one of his favorite things to do. Jackson loves to play with Tyler, but he won't ever get a kitty because his dad is allergic. Chase had Nanaw pile the big stuffed animals on top of him. Then the boys had Nanaw turn out the light and plug in the night light to pretend like it was bedtime. Nanaw only stayed to play for about an hour -- she had to go home and try to get caught up on TV programs she'd recorded.

Chase was happy to go to school on Friday even though he still has a cough and a runny nose. He's had a rough winter as far as colds and ear infections go. He has a cute thing that he does when he gets out of school: He wants to do Run - Stop with Nanaw. And Nanaw has to do Run - Stop also, not just say the words. It must be something he learned on the playground at school. On his way out of school, Chase kept talking about Nicolas and saying Nicholas was coming over to his house tomorrow. When they got home from school, Nanaw pulled up the pre-school website and had Chase point out Nicholas. After lunch, he wanted to play on abcmouse so he played for quite a while. He really loves that program, and Nanaw loves to watch him play it.

Chase's adventure for Thursday was going to Story Time with Miss Candy at the Columbia Library. Miss Candy read two books about stars, while Chase sat on Nanaw's lap -- which Nanaw really enjoyed. The craft was a fun one -- making a star light catcher. Miss Candy had the boys and girls shave different colored crayons using a pencil sharpener. They put the shavings on a piece of waxed paper and folded the waxed paper over the shavings. Then Miss Candy put a piece of paper on top of the waxed paper and ironed it to melt the crayon shavings. It made a colorful design. Then the children pasted the outline of a star over the melted shavings and cut out the star and put a ribbon through the top -- voila! a star light catcher.

Chase and Nanaw walked into school with Brady on Wednesday morning and found out it was Brady's birthday and his turn for treats. Brady said he brought ice cream, and he was very excited about that. When Nanaw picked Chase up from school, he told her they also had cupcakes for Brady's birthday. Nanaw brought chocolate milk for Chase when she picked him, and she sent a picture to Mama saying "Nanaw provides the little prince with chocolate milk for the long ride home." Chase and Nanaw went home to play with abcmouse -- that was what Chase wanted for his Wednesday adventure. Chase had a successful afternoon with abcmouse, earning tickets and getting special prizes. Nanaw is glad that Daddy and Mama got abcmouse for Chase -- it seems to be very good for him. Chase brought home four of the books in his book order -- Ms. Merz told Nanaw that Scholastic forgot one of the books, and she e-mailed them, and the book should arrive in about a week. One of the books was a Star Wars look-and-find book with "Baby 8" on the cover. The Baby 8 book came with a blue light saber pen that Chase was quite delighted with. He was in a good mood when he got up from his nap, and Nanaw was happy to take a cheerful Chase home to Mama and Daddy.

Chase played with abcmouse for a long time this morning. He loves when the program says, "Welcome back, Chase" to him. He also played with the bouncy play dough-like stuff from Dollar Tree. He had fun breaking it into small pieces and then bouncing them on the floor. When it was time for Chase's nap, Nanaw couldn't find Tee Tee. Chase didn't cry about not having Tee Tee (surprise, surprise and what a miracle) but he also didn't take a nap. Nanaw looked everywhere for Tee Tee and finally found him hidden under a green pillow on the bed. She left Tee Tee there and got Chase up from bed. She showed him Tee Tee and asked if Chase had hidden him there. Chase laughed and said, "Oh, yeah." What a little dickens. It was about 3:30 then so Nanaw decided to take Chase to Lego Time at the Columbia Library. Chase had a grand time at Lego Time; Miss Annette wasn't there so a substitute teacher read the Dr. Seuss story to the boys and girls. After Lego Time, Chase and Nanaw went to Dollar Tree so Chase could get some purple bouncy stuff to take home, plus another car.
