Nanaw came for dinner at Chase's house on Sunday evening. He was very excited about the new swimming pool Daddy bought from Amazon for him. He showed Nanaw the ladder, the cover and the net. He hadn't been swimming in it yet because the water was still too cold. Daddy grilled ribs for dinner -- Nanaw's favorite. After dinner, Mama, Chase and Nanaw went to the little playground in the park by the Columbia Library. Two little girls were there playing, which made Chase very happy. They were good at gymnastics and at one point, they were turning cartwheels in the grass. It was a hoot to see Chase try to copy what they were doing -- he just ended up rolling around in the grass. After the playground came the second best part of the evening (after the ribs): ice cream at Dairy Queen. Chase got a strawberry sundae; Daddy got an Oreo blizzard; Nanaw got a hot fudge blizzard; and Mama got a hot fudge sundae with whipped cream and pecans. That's what Nanaw is going to get next time!

Nanaw went to visit Chase early Saturday morning before she went out to Aspenhof. They had a great time playing together on the living room floor. First, they played with the multi colored marbles Mama bought for Chase at Dollar Tree. They put them in trucks and cars and raced them around the floor – Chase is very into racing and of course, winning. Nanaw promised Chase that next week they would go to Dollar Tree and buy marbles for Nanaw’s house. After the marbles, they played with his Santa Claus ski slope – another racing toy. Finally, they played for a long while with the Angry Birds toys Chase got from Happy Meals at McDonald’s. He loves the Angry Birds and makes up games and stories for them. Chase and Nanaw built towers and then knocked them down with the Angry Bird launchers – great fun. Chase and Daddy were going out to Wentzville to visit Grandma Pat and Aunt Patty later in the day, and Nanaw knew he’d have lots of fun, especially playing with his cousin Zander. In the evening, Mama posted a picture on Facebook of Chase playing with bubbles in the back yard – very cute.

Nanaw had big plans for Friday -- she was going to take Chase to Powder Valley and then to the Science Center. But Chase, the little fellow with a mind of his own, said he wanted to stay home and play. Nanaw kept trying to convince him it would be fun to go on adventures but with no success. He brought all of his mega blocks into the living room and dumped them on the floor and invited Nanaw to play with him. And she did, of course. They built race cars (driven by mega block farm animals) all around the living room. Chase won all of the races, naturally. Nanaw gave Chase a set of games that she had gotten years ago for the five older grandchildren - she thought there was a Chinese checkers game in it with marbles but there wasn't so it must be somewhere else. Chase had a grand time playing with everything in the game set -- he made up his own games and rules instead of playing checkers or whatever. For his afternoon snack, Chase had a Popsicle and popcorn. Mama, Daddy and Chase went to Culver's for dinner, and they all had ice cream for dessert -- yum, yum. When Nanaw got home, she found Tee Tee where Chase had left him in the car seat so she took him back to Chase's house. Mama called to thank Nanaw and to invite her for bbq ribs on Sunday -- Yay says Nanaw!

Chase and Nanaw went to the Train House for Thursday's adventure. Nanaw had to straighten up the house for the cleaning lady so she planned on Chase going to the 10:30 a.m. Creation Station session instead of the their usual earlier 9:15 a.m. session. However, 10:30 was sold out so Chase and Nanaw entertained each other until the 11:45 a.m. session. Chase got his popcorn before the Creation Station instead of after; he ran around with the circus train; he played on the train table in the cafe (they had moved in one of the tables from the Creation Station so it was a lot more fun for him than the one they had before); he watched Thomas videos; and most important of all, he rode on the hand car. It was the first time he'd done it this year, and it's his new favorite thing to do at the Train House. Miss Linda was happy to see Chase and Nanaw, as always. Chase played the xylophone and helped Miss Linda with the singing. He also went to the craft table and made a rocket ship covered with stars. Chase and Nanaw built train tracks, and both did a good job. Nanaw found Paint Splash Thomas so he could participate in their fun. Chase played with a couple of other little boys and really seemed to enjoy that -- Nanaw is going to have find little boys for him to play with this summer. Nanaw had to hurry away when she took Chase home because she was going to the 11th annual Suspense Night at the County Library. The first three pictures below are from Wednesday's visit to Dollar Tree -- Nanaw forgot to post them yesterday and really liked them and posted them on Thursday because she has few if any pictures of Chase in Dollar Tree.

Chase and Nanaw had a busy day on Wednesday. First, they played downstairs with the new train Mama bought for Chase and Nanaw: Paint Splash (or Paint Splatter) Thomas. Then, they went to Suson Park. First, they visited all the animals and took lots of pictures. Next, they went to playground and stayed for a long while because Chase was having so much fun. Amazingly enough, he was willing to leave the playground, but only because Nanaw told him they were going to McDonald's. He had his usual Happy Meal at McDonald's with chicken nuggets, French fries, yogurt and chocolate milk. His Angry Bird toy in the Happy Meal wasn't an Angry Bird, much to Chase's dismay. The toy was a green and brown pig looking animal with a launcher -- Chase eventually decided he like the toy. After McDonald's, Chase and Nanaw went to Dollar Tree where Chase selected two stuffed Dory's from Finding Nemo, one for Chase's house and one for Nanaw's house. He also picked out a little pool table game that he said Daddy was going to play with him. At the end of the day, he packed up all his things in his Thomas backpack -- it was very cute to watch.
