Mama invited Nanaw over for a chili dinner on Sunday evening; Nanaw thought the text said 5 p.m. but it really said 6 p.m. so Nanaw was an hour early. But it was great for Nanaw because she got to spend more time with Chase. The chili was delicious, and Mama made gluten-free pasta to go with it. After dinner, Mama and Nanaw sat with Chase at the kitchen table while he read the Sam and Biscuit book and one of the Paw Patrol books. He did really well with the Biscuit book but struggled with the Paw Patrol book because the words were more difficult. Mama got out the Spot Loves His Mommy book and Chase did better with that one. Mama and Nanaw talked about it and decided that Nanaw would send the Biscuit books over to Chase's house for him to practice on and Nanaw would read the Disney Dory/Toy Story/other books with him. After they were done reading, Mama, Chase and Nanaw played the Scavenger Hunt game Chase got for Christmas. It was really fun.

Nanaw didn't go to visit Chase on Saturday morning because Mama is having a birthday party for herself on Saturday night with Auntie LaLa, Uncle Chris, Phoebe, Little Will, Uncle Mike, Aunt Becky and Nanaw. Mama says Chase and Daddy played with Legos, downstairs and upstairs on the kitchen table. Chase had a great time playing with Little Will. Chase showed him Roblox so Little Will downloaded the app from the app store onto his iPad. It was so cute seeing them both playing Roblox together. Mama had Pizza Hut pizza for dinner, and Chase ate a big piece of pepperoni pizza, his favorite. Chase and Little Will colored for awhile, and that was cute. They played with Chase's trains and remote controlled cars in the blue room. Chase loves when Little Will comes over to his house.

When Nanaw picked up Chase Friday morning, Mama said Daddy was feeling worse and was going to go to the Urgent Care at the building Nanaw likes. Nanaw put two bottles of water in Chase's water bottles because the boil order was still in effect. At school, Nanaw discovered that the water had leaked into the plastic bag and also on Chase's table. Nanaw cleaned it up before she left. When Nanaw picked Chase up from school, he was very excited because Mrs. Epplin had given him a pack of gum. He couldn't wait to get home to chew the gum. It was a pack of Winterfresh in his backpack. He chewed two pieces, gave Nanaw a piece and took home two pieces, one for Daddy and one for Mama, because he loves them, he said -- very cute. Chase had popcorn while he and Nanaw watched Monsters Inc. Chase played with his Roblox guys while he watched the movie and at the popcorn -- quite the multi-tasker. When Nanaw took Chase home, Mama said she isn't sure about Saturday night's birthday party for her, with Uncle Mike and Aunt Becky, Uncle Chris, Auntie Lala, Phoebe, and Little Will. She'll decide tomorrow when she sees how Daddy is feeling.

On Thursday morning, Nanaw thought Mama was working at home that day so she was getting ready to go pick up Chase and didn't unlock the front door or turn on the lights. So Mama had to get her key to open the door. From now on, Mama and Nanaw will be sure to check with each other on what's happening the next day. Chase was very happy to go back to school. Because of the water boil order, Chase took two bottles of water to school. But he didn't drink any of it. He said he wanted his blue water bottles. So tomorrow, Nanaw will pour the water into his water bottles. When Chase got home from school, he and Nanaw read another one of the Biscuit books, Sam and Biscuit. Chase did really well again, and Nanaw wrote that down on the list with the ballpoint pen that Chase gave her for Christmas. Then Chase brought all his people and his Roblox figures to Pawpaw's bed. Nanaw made popcorn and orange drink for him, and they watched WALL-E again.

On Wednesday morning, when Mama brought Chase to Nanaw's house, he slept on the sofa for awhile. When he got up, he and Nanaw watched The Year Without a Santa Claus on Chase's DVD player on the kitchen counter. Chase played with toys while watching the movie; once again, he played with Mama's van. Chase got very excited when he saw the Heat Miser and the Snow Miser. He was so cute about watching the movie. Once again, Chase had a plate of ham for lunch. He also had orange drink (Tang) and popcorn. In the afternoon, Chase and Nanaw went to the library and Walmart again. At the library, Chase played with the eyeball Legos and let Nanaw take a couple of pictures of him. At Walmart, Nanaw bought Chase lots of Roblox figures -- $28. She didn't mean to spend that much but Chase really wanted them. When they got home, Nanaw had Chase read the first of the Biscuit young readers book. He had trouble with some of the words the first time, but he read the book very well the second and third times. Nanaw set up the incentive of giving him a quarter for each book he reads; then Chase and Nanaw will go on a shopping trip to Dollar Tree. When Nanaw took Chase home, Daddy said they were going to Walmart to buy Mama's birthday present from Chase. Columbia and Waterloo are under a boil order.

When Mama brought Chase over to Nanaw's house on Tuesday morning, she had him snugly wrapped up in the WALL-E blanket. She put him on the sofa with the blanket. Nanaw had put his pillows there and she put the penguin blanket on him. So the bug was as snug as a bug in a rug. He rested for awhile, then got up and ate breakfast. He wanted to play abcmouse so Nanaw set that up. He had 459 points so he bought a reindeer and named it Rudolph; he also bought a parrot that he named Chase. Mama had sent along The Nightmare Before Christmas and WALL-E. So first, Chase watched The Nightmare Before Christmas. He was absolutely entranced and engrossed with the movie, singing along and talking to the movie. For lunch, he ate a plate of ham so Nanaw will get more ham from Mama tonight when she takes Chase home. Next, Chase watched WALL-E. He wasn't as interested in it because he's seen it many times before. In the afternoon, Chase and Nanaw went to the library and Walmart. At the library, Chase played with the eyeball mega blocks and the puppets and puppet theater. The puppets were a new attraction. On the way out, they went to the "bending machine and got some fruit strips. Then they went to Walmart where Nanaw bought Chase two Roblox mini mystery boxes.

Nanaw went to visit Chase on New Year's Day evening. Mama had invited Nanaw for a ham dinner. Mama also served twice-baked potatoes. Dinner was delicious. Chase ate lots of ham, impressing Mama, Daddy and Nanaw. Mama gave Nanaw some ham to take home, and Nanaw is going to serve some ham to Chase for lunch on Tuesday. Poor Daddy is feeling bad; he's getting what Chase, Mama and Nanaw had. Before dinner, Chase and Nanaw played hockey downstairs. After dinner, they played hockey again for awhile. Then they came upstairs to play War. Nanaw won, and Chase was not very happy about that. In fact, he declared that he had won. Next, Chase and Nanaw did his sight words, and Chase did a really good job. Then Chase got his mini train track from the living room and had Nanaw put it on the kitchen table. He brought in his three containers of mini trains. Chase, Mama and Nanaw played with the mini trains for awhile, and it was great fun.
