On Tuesday morning, while Chase was doing his schoolwork, Nanaw noticed a chunk of hair missing from the front of Chase's hair.  Nanaw took a picture and sent it to Mama. They were trying to figure out when he cut his hair. Chase said it was around the first of April. But none of us noticed. Nanaw assumes he did at her house in the computer lab. She found the scissors by the computer a few days ago, so that must have when Chase cut his hair. His Mama and Daddy were very good to him and told him he wasn't in trouble but he shouldn’t cut his hair again. Chase decided the cast should come off Berry, Chase's stuffed peacock, today. Berry broke her leg over the weekend during restaurant training, and Chase and Nanaw put a cast on her leg. One of Chase's math problems involved measuring the driveway so Chase and Nanaw went outside to do that. Chase loves the measuring tape, especially when it automatically rewinds itself. Nanaw sent Mama a picture of the bag of pretzels Chase likes so she could get some more for him at the grocery store. Chase had his favorite for lunch today: toasted ravioli. He played Subway training on the computer today; it's so cute, and he said he would train Nanaw tomorrow. Nanaw ordered $20 worth of Robux for Chase for Easter. She'll ask Mama and Daddy if Chase can use them at her house; Mama got him some for their house for Easter. Nanaw bought Easter candy to hide in plastic eggs for Chase. It will be a small Easter dinner this year -- just the four of us. Daddy gave Chase a haircut so now he has the really short hair -- a buzz cut -- that Nanaw loves. Mama's Alexa arrived today, and she's very happy about it. She says she loves her Alexa.

Nanaw declared that today was pajama day at a-home-school. Chase missed the actual pajama day because Nanaw didn’t know about it and she had Chase get dressed. Chase and Nanaw had lots of fun with his math today. It was all about measuring with an inch ruler, a yardstick and a measuring tape. They actually measured the garage door, Nanaw's bike, a football, a book, a desk, a chair, Nanaw's car, Nanaw's mailbox, a board eraser, a hallway, Chase's finger, a box of Kleenex, a glue stick, Nanaw's bicycle, and a floor tile. They had to pretend measure (by looking them up on Google) a swimming pool, a swing set, and a row of lockers. Chase did very well on his cursive handwriting practice; his cursive is actually better than his printing. Chase did a good job on his morning work and workbook. He had a sub sandwich for lunch, along with mixed vegetables, applesauce and squeezable yogurt.

Nanaw made a mask for Grandma Pat, a dog one like Mama's, and white pants for Mr. Front Door Skeleton. She also made another mask for herself, a white one this time. When her elastic comes from Amazon, she's going to try and make some white masks using some of Pawpaw's handkerchiefs. Nanaw also found a scarf and brought it over for Sylvester when she went to Chase's house for dinner. Daddy grilled Italian sausage, and it was delicious. Mama also fixed onion rings. After dinner, Chase and Nanaw went into Chase's room to continue training his stuffed animals for the restaurant. Chase put training for them online using his pretend iPhone -- very cute. In Chase's room, they continued with the training. They separated the stuffed animals into three groups: one for wait staff, one for cash register and one for cooking. It was the cutest thing. Chase is very organized and focused on his restaurant training. Nanaw had fun with him. He then transformed the restaurant into a combination restaurant / hotel so that he could get under the covers on his bed and pretend to sleep. Daddy has the day off for Good Friday so Chase is not going to have at-home-school with Nanaw then. Daddy said they might come to Nanaw's house to go fishing. In the homework assignment from Mrs. Meyer, she said Mr. Kish didn't want the boys and girls doing schoolwork on Thursday, Friday or Monday; he wants them to spend time with their family and thinking about Easter. Daddy found a VCR that he's not using, and he gave it to Nanaw. That made Nanaw very happy.

When Nanaw went to visit Chase on Saturday morning, Chase wanted to go into his room and play. First, they had a parade on the bed with his stuffed animals. Then Chase decided he wanted to play restaurant. So first, Nanaw ordered. Chase took her order, prepared the food, and presented her with a bill. Then they switched roles, and Chase was the customer. Next, Chase had a super idea. He decided that they would train his stuffed animals to work in the restaurant. (This training idea must come from his Roblox Subway game.) So they trained and hired six of his stuffed animals. He said they'll train the rest of them on Sunday when Nanaw comes to visit. Daddy went to Waterloo Walmart and came home with a huge bag of huge marshmallows. Mama was planning on a fire in the firepit. Later in the day, Mama sent Nanaw pictures of them playing badminton in the back yard and toasting marshmallows over the fire in the fire pit. It looked like lots of fun. Nanaw made a fish mask for Chase and a dog mask like Mama's for Grandma Pat.

This morning before Nanaw got to Chase's house to pick him up, Mama took a picture of Chase sitting at the top of the stairs with the dogs waiting for Nanaw. It's the first picture below. Nanaw changed the school schedule a little on Friday, and Chase didn't like that but he finally adjusted. He did his morning work, his handwriting practice, reading a story in the heavy book, and doing the workbooks. He didn't do math except for the workbooks so they'll concentrate on that on Monday. Nanaw was making masks. She made a green one for herself, a dog print one for Mama, and a red bandana one for Daddy. Daddy is probably going to loan it to Grandma Pat. When Nanaw tried one of the masks on Chase, it was too big, and he said Nanaw should make one for him that fits because he might have to go to the grocery store. LOL When Chase got home, he changed into shorts so he could play outside with Daddy. After dropping Chase off at his house, Nanaw went to Telegraph Road Walmart. They had only one door open; they closed the other two.  They had carts lined up outside the entrance. Later Nanaw learned that Walmart is going to start limiting the number of customers inside, and people will have to line up to get in. About half of the people had on masks, and Nanaw put on her green mask (a selfie of it at home is the second to last picture below. The last one is Mama modeling her dog print mask.)\

When Nanaw went to pick Chase up on Thursday morning, he was excited to tell Nanaw that Daddy gave him 800 Robux last night and that he'd already spent 797. LOL. For school, Chase worked on his morning work, his handwriting practice and a page for his April Journal. The topic he chose was teleporting as the superpower that he wanted. A copy of it is the first picture below. LOL. Mama sent ham for his lunch, and he really liked it. Nanaw told him he could have meatless Spaghettios for lunch on Friday instead of fish sticks, and that made him happy. Thursday was cleaning lady day so Chase and Nanaw went downstairs for a couple of hours. Chase did some of his schoolwork down there, then sat on Aunt Joan's furniture and read one of his Roblox books. While they were downstairs, Nanaw fashioned a mask out of a scarf and her glasses and took a selfie of herself. It's the last picture below. When Nanaw took Chase home, he changed clothes and went outside to play with Daddy. In the evening, Nanaw sent Mrs. Meyer an email with pictures of Chase's assignments that she needed for grades on his report card.

When Nanaw picked Chase up on Wednesday morning, she was very impressed with the Lego layout that Chase made for the Zoom call today. Mama very carefully carried it out to Nanaw's car. Chase tried some April's fool jokes on Nanaw, especially the one where he says, "It's snowing outside!" He had fun with it and was very funny. Chase worked hard in the morning getting his school work done before the 2 p.m. Zoom call. Chase and Nanaw got all the things ready to send to Mrs. Meyer by 5 p.m. Friday except the April journal page. They're going to do that tomorrow morning and then email everything to Mrs. Meyer tomorrow. Chase and Nanaw listened to Mrs. Meyer read the penguin story on Seesaw. One of these days, they're going to listen to the other story she read on Seesaw. Chase read the penguin story to Nanaw and did the workbook questions. The Zoom call was so much fun. Mrs. Meyer's daughter Carmen sat with her mother during the call, and it was so cute. There were 13 boys and girls from Chase's class, including Chase. Each boy or girl talked about something special they'd made or something special they were doing. It was a great idea to have the call; I'm sure the boys and girls are missing Mrs. Meyer and each other and school. Hopefully, things will be better soon.
