Mama said that Chase had school today but she thinks he wanted another snow day. The school changed the menus around, and they had spaghetti today -- at least it wasn't chicken-fried steak, one of the lunches Chase doesn't like. He takes his lunch when they have that. After school, Mama brought Chase over to visit Nanaw. She hadn't seen him since Monday, and she was so happy to see him. He gave her a hug and a kiss and that made her even happier. Nanaw had activity centers set up for them. First, they played Go Fish on the kitchen counter with Nanaw's Go Fish cards. Nanaw had planned for them to play War after Go Fish but Chase wanted to play Blackjack. He said Daddy taught him Blackjack last night. The little fellow is really good at it and won most of the hands. I realized it's a good game for Chase to play because you have to add up the cards -- voila, addition practice. After the cards tournament, Chase and Nanaw sat on the couch in their reading place and read three articles from the Answers book Next, they went into the computer lab (aka Pawpaw's room). Chase played with the tablet and phone and had a grand time. He had Nanaw get a game for him, of course. Mama came to pick Chase up and said they're having sloppy joes for dinner. He wanted to call his friends Brady and Andrew on Facebook Messenger before dinner, and Mama said he could do that. But he has to do his homework right after dinner. He has his AR reading and 100 math problems.

Chase had another snow day on Wednesday! There was more snow overnight, so they closed the school again. Mama sent Nanaw information on what Chase did all day, and pictures of him. In the morning, he was on his tablet talking to his friend Brady on Facebook Messenger. Mama says they always giggle and laugh and make lots of noise. Mama said she worked upstairs most of the day so she could be around Chase. She brought Sylvester's bed upstairs (one of his many beds) so that she could also be around Sylvester. She sent a picture of Sylvester in his bed. She also sent pictures of Chase shoveling snow on the back deck, eating lunch, and Chase with no appliances on his teeth, just braces. Chase wanted to know when he could come over to Nanaw's house, and Mama said maybe Thursday after school if Nanaw is feeling okay. In the evening, Nanaw was on the couch in the living room watching TV and all three came to be with her. So Nanaw took pictures and sent them to Mama and Uncle Mike.

Chase had a snow day on Tuesday because there was more snow overnight. Mama had the day off from work to take Nanaw for her procedure at 7 a.m. But the doctor got stuck in traffic so it was later than they thought. Mama says Chase played outside in the snow and had a grand time. He played on the trampoline, and he played with the snowball maker. Daddy took a cool video of Chase jumping around in the snow on the trampoline. For dinner, he had ham sliders. Nanaw didn't get to see Chase on Tuesday, which was sad, but Mama sent pictures and told Nanaw what he was doing.

Nanaw had an appointment at St. Clare on Monday, and Daddy had the day off from work. But he had to take Grandma Pat for her appointment so Mama took Chase to school. It snowed during the day, and the deck builders were only able to work half a day. Nanaw forgot to put the results of Chase's annual doctor's visit in a January Days of Chase so here it is. He weighs 76 pounds and is 53.75 inches tall. He got a wonderful report card with only a couple of 2s and the rest of them were 3s, the highest. He also got a nice comment from the teacher, saying he was a delight to have in class, that she was proud of his participation. She also asked him to try to keep the top of his desk and the inside neater. After school, Daddy dropped Chase off at Nanaw's house. They played several games of Go Fish, all of which Chase won. It was wonderful fun. Nanaw took a picture of him with his winning hands. Then they went into the computer lab. Chase played on the laptop, on Nanaw's computer, on Nanaw's phone, and on Nanaw's tablet. He really diversified today. For homework, he had his AR reading and a page of math problems. Mama told him there were 100 problems. For dinner they had beef and noodles. Tonight Nanaw made spaghetti and meat loaf so she has food ready to eat.

Sundays are always busy for Chase -- and Daddy. At noon, Chase has baseball practice at Powerhouse. Then at 5:40 p.m., he has hockey practice in Affton. Today was the day of the Super Bowl, and Mama was having special food, and Nanaw was visiting so it was even busier. Nanaw came over about 5:45, while Chase was at hockey practice. Mama fixed little Smokies in crescent rolls and ham sliders, and she bought chicken wings from Joe's Pizza. She also got a delicious Super Bowl chocolate chip cookie cake. When Chase came home, he got out of his hockey gear and put on his Snoopy Christmas jammies, because Mama knows they're one of Nanaw's favorites. He ate his ham sliders sitting at the bar downstairs, which was very funny. Then he came over to sit by Mama and Nanaw and watch the Super Bowl. Earlier in the day, he told Mama he wanted to play Go Fish that evening. Nanaw thought Mama was going to play also but Mama needed to watch the football game. Chase and Nanaw played four games of Go Fish; they tied two and Chase won two. They're going to play again on Monday after school. Tomorrow Daddy has the day off from work, and he's taking Chase to school and picking him up and bringing him to Nanaw's after school. The first two pictures below are from tonight; the others are miscellaneous ones from the past few weeks, including ones Uncle Mike took at the little house and photos of Nanaw's deck project -- the demolition is done -- now the construction begins.

On Saturday morning, Mama brought Chase over to Nanaw's house while she went to the grocery store. She and Daddy were going to go to Weekends Only to buy a nightstand for Chase, and Chase was going to stay longer with Nanaw -- which made Nanaw very happy. First, Chase and Nanaw had a reading session in the Answers book. They read about "Why Do You Pant When You Run?" and "What Makes Your Foot go to Sleep." Then Chase played on his Switch for awhile. Nanaw had promised Mama she would practice Chase's spelling words with him because the words this week are very hard; they're compound words and are long. So Nanaw interspersed spelling words into Chase's activities. She did perfectly on the spelling words, getting them all correct. Nanaw was very proud and impressed. Chase had Nanaw get him some games for the Fire tablet, and he played with those. He also played the Prodigy game on the computer. Nanaw was sorry to have him go home when Mama and Daddy came to pick him up.  In the evening, Mama said she watched Chase make a level on his Switch game. For dinner, they had food from the bowling alley. Mama had pizza, Daddy had a Philly Cheesesteak and Chase had Mac and cheese and a pretzel. Mama bough a chocolate chip cookie  for dessert tomorrow.

Unfortunately, Nanaw got sick again and hasn't been able to do Days of Chase. She will start to do the  regular daily updates on Saturday, February 6, 2021. Here are some pictures of Chase playing in the snow and doing other fun things.
