Mama and Chase had the day off on Monday. They came over to Nanaw’s house at 9 for their day of adventures. Chase and Nanaw played with his hockey take along while Mama checked her work email. Then they went off on their adventures. First Mama went to get gas. Then they went to Best Buy so Mama could return an HDMI cable she bought and didn't need. She exchanged it for a Carnival video game. Next they went to the Dollar Tree by Walmart. Chase got three Lego bases, some Lego Army vehicles, an M & M ice cream sandwich, some M & M ice cream, frozen lemonade and some silly putty. Next they went to Taco Bell. Nanaw went off her diet to have a Crunch Wrap Supreme. After lunch, they played Jack Skellington Clue. And a miracle happened! Nanaw won both games of Clue! It was so super and an early birthday present for Nanaw. After Clue, Mama and Chase went home because Nanaw had a doctor’s appointment.

Nanaw went to Chase’s house on Sunday evening for dinner and to play with Chase. Dinner was delicious chili. Mama and Daddy had chili dogs and Chase had a hot dog on a bun. Nanaw asked Chase what he did today and he said he played with the X box and Play Station. After dinner, Mama, Chase and Nanaw played three games of Uno. Chase won all three games and was very excited about it. Chase brought in stuffed animals for all of us. For himself, he brought Tee Tee and one of the Douglases. For Mama, he brought two Jacks. For Nanaw, he brought two lemurs. After the Uno games, Chase and Nanaw played with the hockey Playmobil. Mama was the fan. Then Chase made a list of what they’re going to do tomorrow. They’re going to Best Buy for Mama to return an HDMI cable, to Dollar Tree, y to o get gas for Mama, and to Taco Bell for lunch. They’re going to play Jack Skellington Clue. Nanaw has a doctor’s appointment at 2 p.m.

Nanaw went to Chase’s house on Saturday afternoon for Mama’s Mardi Gras party. Nanaw was the first one there. Chase told Nanaw he played outside on the trampoline and leaf extermination. He said he was the Leaf Exterminator. Chase and Nanaw played with his stuffed animals on his bed until the other guests arrived. Chase was excited Jackson and little Will would be at the party for him to play with. Chase had a grand time playing hockey, remote controlled cars and video games with Jackson and little Will. They spent a lot of time in Mama’s office playing video games and seemed to be having fun.

Chase was especially good Friday morning about getting dressed and eating breakfast. Nanaw was very proud of him. After seeing the woodpecker pecking on the tree in Chase's front yard yesterday, Chase and Nanaw decided they need a woodpecker. Nanaw found one on Amazon, and she asked Chase if she should buy it. He said yes so it should be here sometime next week. Chase decided the woodpecker’s name would be Woody. Supposedly the stuffed bird makes a bird noise. Chase had two tests on Friday: reading and math. He did extremely well on both tests : 29 out of 30 on the reading test and 30 out of 30 on the math test. So Nanaw owes Chase $5 for his perfect score on the math test! He told Nanaw the one question he missed on the reading test was a rookie mistake about grammar. At Nanaw’s house, Chase watched Curious George. He had yogurt and carrots for a snack. Then he had candy and chips. When they got to Chase’s house, he went over to the big tree in the front yard, looking for moss. He learned about miss in science today. LOL

On Thursday morning, Nanaw went to pick up Chase because Mama's car was at Dobb's so she couldn't bring Chase over to Nanaw's house. Nanaw asked Chase to do the new Good Student Practice today: "Take your time. Go slowly. Don't rush. Be careful. Listen carefully to the teacher." When Nanaw picked Chase up from school, he said he missed one on the spelling test. They looked it up and he missed noisier -- he spelled it without the second I -- noiser. Chase did his AR reading on the way home from school. Then he and Nanaw studied math for his test tomorrow. They went through the review page and then Nanaw gave Chase some problems to solve. He seems to know his math, and Nanaw has her fingers crossed that he'll do well on the test tomorrow. After studying math, Chase and Nanaw studied the questions for the reading test -- Ecology for Kids. He got nine out of ten answers right; Nanaw told Mama which one he missed so she could make sure when he studies tonight, he knows the correct answer. Nanaw put together 10 questions on the reading and 10 questions on vocabulary (which Chase answered correctly) and gave copies to Mama so she could study them with Chase tonight.

Nanaw read the Good Student Practices to Chase again this morning and told him she would do them with the guys today. He liked that. When Nanaw picked Chase up from school, she asked him if he did any of the good practices. He said he did the one about doing his best writing on a worksheet. He said it turned out pretty good. The plan was to go to the Magic House after school because it was early dismissal. At first, Chase wasn’t sure he wanted to go because his stomach didn’t feel so good. In the car, he drank a lot of his chocolate milk and then burped. He said that made his stomach feel better, and they could go to the Magic House. The lady who checked them in asked Nanaw if she wanted to vote for the Magic House in a best national children’s museum contest. Nanaw voted and the lady gave her a coupon for a free cookie from the Magic House food place. Chase wanted to give the cookie to Mama so that’s what he did. Chase and Nanaw had a wonderful time at the Magic House. Except for when the fire alarm went off and made a horrible noise. They had to outside until they found out it was a mistake, and then they went back inside. The places Chase visited included: the science lab, the art room, the craft room (where Nanaw made a house for Tee Tee out of cardboard), the Lego race track, the Splash and Bubbles display, outside in the garden area, the pizza restaurant and the fishing area. Before and after the Magic House, Chase and Nanaw practiced his spelling words in the car on the parking lot ,and he did well. On the way home, he did his AR reading. Before dinner, Mama sent Nanaw a picture of Chase and Daddy playing hockey in the garage.

Nanaw showed Chase the Good Student Practices note cards today, and they talked about them. Nanaw said the guys were going to work on them today also. When Nanaw picked Chase up from school today, she asked him if he thought about any of the Good Student Practices today, and he said he did. While he was coloring the Stations of the Cross, he thought about slowing down and taking his time. Nanaw was so happy that he remembered one of the practices. On the way home, Chase finished up his AR reading -- he'd done some of it in class today. At Nanaw's house, he played Minecraft on the tablet for a few minutes while watching PBS Kids. He changed into play clothes because he had baseball practice at 4:30. He only had a few minutes at Nanaw's house because Mama came to pick him up at 3:30 for an orthodontist's appointment. Nanaw remembered to take pictures of Chase just before he and Mama left. Nanaw walked out with them so she could check for mail in the mailbox.
