Chase and Daddy went to church on Sunday morning. Mama straightened out Chase's closet in preparation for the start of school. His shoes are all lined up neatly in a row on the shelf. His uniforms are organized by type, and his dress shirts are all together. Chase played with his tablet and with the Xbox. Nanaw came to visit when she got back from the little house. Mama fixed a pasta dish for dinner: elbow macaroni, cottage cheese, mozzarella cheese, alfredo sauce and garlic. Nanaw decided to have a little taste, and it was so good she decided to have more. After dinner, Chase and Nanaw went into his room to play baseball with his stuffed animals on the bed. Chase won, as usual, with a score of 9 to 4. He decided he got a no-hitter even though one of Nanaw's players got a hit. Chase called it an error. Nanaw is concerned about Chase's ethics. Brady kept calling Chase but Chase had to wait till after Nanaw left to talk to him and to play Roblox with him.

On Saturday, Mama brought Chase over to Nanaw's house to visit. For a while, they played with Chase's stuffed animals. Mama told Nanaw an amazing thing about the new one, Mr. Howl, Clayton's dad, and she sent a picture of him without his costume (the first picture below). In the gray costume, Mr. Howl looks like a coyote. Without the costume, he looks like a cuddly little white bear. (Chase and Nanaw found Mr. Howl in the cabinet that Pawpaw filled with little stuffed animals. They decided Mr. Howl was a coyote and looked like Clayton and should be Clayton's dad.) Chase played some exciting games of baseball Roblox while Nanaw watched. Then he opened up some YouTube videos. When Chase went home, he and Mama and Daddy went to Shoe Carnival to get sandals for Daddy but Shoe Carnival didn't have his size. Next, they went out to lunch at La Fiesta (Mama's favorite), next to Home Depot and called Smoothie on Life360. They also bought a new hockey helmet for Chase. Mama said that Chase spent a lot of time on Saturday talking to Brady on Kids Messenger and laughing a lot and playing Roblox games. She said he's so happy about talking to Brady and to his other friend Sean.

Mama had the day off again and brought Chase over around 9:30. Chase told Nanaw about how he talked to Brady on his tablet last night, and they played Roblox together. He said he had a really good time talking to Brady, and they did a lot of laughing. Chase was excited about a Roblox game that the YouTuber Kreekkraft was promoting and playing, and Chase kept telling Nanaw all about it. Chase does love YouTube. They didn’t have school Wednesday or Thursday so Nanaw made sure they had school today. They did multiplication problems; state capitals; division flashcards; worksheets on vocabulary, advice/advise and affect/effect (he's finally catching on to affect/effect -- Yay!); measuring angles with the protractor; and multiplying fractions and making improper numbers into proper numbers and simplifying fractions. When Chase got home, he decided his stomach hurt so he had the special Tums Mama bought for him. For dinner they had Dairy Queen --Mama had her favorite -- a hot fudge sundae.

Mama is off work till next Thursday so she brought Chase over later than usual -- a little after 9. Chase had a special adventure on Thursday. Nanaw took him swimming with his friend Brady and Brady's sister Emma and their Grandma Debby. This swimming adventure went much better than the first one. The weather was hot and the pool water was warm. Chase, Brady and Emma had a great time swimming together and racing against each other. After a while, Brady got out of the pool, not wanting to swim anymore, saying his ribs hurt from when he put Emma up on his shoulders. Chase and Emma continued to play in the pool, swimming together. It's cute how nice Chase is to Emma. After swimming, they went to McDonald's for lunch. Chase and Nanaw both had chicken nuggets. When they got home, Uncle Mike came to cut the grass. They watched the end of the Cardinals' first game of a doubleheader. Lars Nootbaar drove in the winning run at the bottom of the ninth inning. Chase decided he didn't want school today so Nanaw agreed.

On Wednesday morning, Mama sent Nanaw a text saying that Chase remembered giving Clayton and Fredbird to Nanaw when she was taking a nap downstairs yesterday. So Nanaw said she'd search down there again. And a miracle happened. Nanaw found Clayton and Fredbird tucked into an end table, as shown in the first picture below. Mama, Chase and Nanaw were ecstatic that Clayton and Fredbird had been located. Then, sadly, Mama sent another text saying that Grandma Pat had passed away. Her visitation and funeral mass are next Tuesday. At 10 a.m., Nanaw had a dentist appointment and then picked up Chase from his house. They went to Nanaw's church so she could fix the secretary's email. Then they went to the library to pick up books and get something out of the vending machine for Chase. They only had one hour of school, at Chase's request. Mama came to pick up Chase because it was supposed to storm but it never really did.

Today was cleaning lady day so Nanaw was rushing around putting things away and straightening things up. Chase and Nanaw went downstairs a little before 10. They took the guys and the laptop because Chase was playing a game on it that he can't play on the tablet. Chase had lunch downstairs, and he also biked on Nanaw's exercise bike -- very funny. They went upstairs for school. Chase and Nanaw did multiplication problems. Then Chase did the division flashcards and the state capitals. He did several worksheets: affect vs. effect; advice vs. advise; homophones; word definitions; and vocabulary. While Chase and Nanaw were doing school, something very sad happened. Chase discovered that two of his stuffed animals were missing: Clayton and Fredbird. Chase and Nanaw searched everywhere in the house but couldn't find them. Mama searched at home and in her car but couldn't find them either. Nanaw searched everywhere again in the evening but no luck.No one can figure out where they might have disappeared to.

Monday morning when Chase got to Nanaw's house, and after Mama left, Chase and Nanaw played with the guys. Nanaw went to find her Jack because Chase hadn't brought one with him. Nanaw didn't realize that her bag Jack had a snake in his bag. Nanaw does not like snakes! Chase had a turkey and cheddar Lunchable for lunch. Nanaw thinks Lunchables are his favorite lunch. Nanaw has started insisting that Chase eat a small serving of broccoli for lunch. When he eats his broccoli, he gets ice cream. Today's flavor was mint chocolate chip. School was good and lasted the whole two hours. Chase and Nanaw did long division problems, multiplication flash cards, state capitals, and worksheets on affect and effect, homophones, matching phrases, definitions and antonyms. Chase also did some one-digit divisor division problems and some problems creating equations for the perimeters of different forms. They had planned to do some science and social studies on Chase's Chromebook but they ran out of time. Chase was hoping that Daddy would want to run tonight because it's really warm outside. On Thursday, Chase is going swimming with Brady.
