Chase is five months old! He and his family returned safe and sound from Tennessee. They had a wonderful trip and Chase and Sam charmed the family.

Chase is in Tennessee with Mama and Daddy and they’re sending photos to Nanaw. Mama also recorded a video of Chase playing with Mortimer Moose in the Pack ‘n’ Play at the Best Western in Shelbyville. Aunt Patty gave Chase two Angry Birds – a big one and a small one and he likes to chew on the feet. Both Chase and Sam were big hits at the graduation barbecue. There was a big storm with hail and a tree falling over – but it didn’t hit anything.

Chase spent the day at Nanaw’s house today. They visited for a few minutes with the next door neighbor. then went for a walk. Chase ate lots of rice cereal and did a really good job eating. He spent a lot of time rolling around on the floor. When Daddy got home from work, Mama and Daddy packed up the car for the trip to a graduation party in Shelbyville, Tennessee. Mama packed Chase’s things in a cute, little red rolling suitcase. She also packed food and treats and toys for Sam. While Mama went to the store and Sam was alone in the house, he attacked his travel bag and ate all his treats. Mama packed more treats for him. Mama and Nanaw practiced FaceTime so Nanaw can talk to Chase on Saturday. It will be the first day since he was born that Nanaw won’t see him. Mama sent photos of Chase in his car seat and with Daddy at a rest stop in Kentucky.

Chase’s big adventure today was visiting Mama at work. Everybody was happy to see him and told him how big he’s getting and how cute he is. He wore his Nike shoes and his cargo pants and looked exceedingly spiffy. He gave everyone his smiles and was very charming. In the morning, Chase and Nawaw went for a walk, and then Chase had rice cereal and bananas. In the evening Nanaw came over for Daddy’s barbecued pork steaks. After dinner, we all went for a walk. Sam’s toy of the day was a blue loofah dog.

After Chase and Nanaw took their morning walk, Chase did a great job eating his rice cereal. He had tummy time and rolled around on the floor. For lunch he had peas and apples – he did well with the peas but made faces at the apples. Chase listened to the books Mama and Daddy recorded for him, and Nanaw read his new books to him. Sam enjoyed his toy of the day stretched out on the sofa: the green loofah dog.

Chase had a day of adventures today. He and Nanaw went to the Post Office in Columbia and then to the County Library on Telegraph Road. They sent pictures to Mama so she could see their adventures. At the library, they renewed the library mouse book and checked out "Bear Is Scared" and "Toy Story 1" to watch with Mama when she’s off work on Monday. Chase and Nanaw went through the toy box to look at the toys from baby Gabe, and now Chase has lots of new toys to play with.

Mama brought Chase over to Nanaw’s house this morning because of the emergency with the washer overflowing. Chase and Nanaw went on an adventure to Walmart to buy a dehumidifier, where Chase charmed everyone who saw him. He chatted and laughed and cooed like the cutie he is. Sam’s toy of the day is his new gator.
