Chase spent part of Christmas Eve day at Nanaw’s while Mama and Daddy were at work. Chase and Nanaw played in his room with the mega blocks. He’s finally playing with them and is getting quite good at putting them together – he’s always been good at taking them apart. Mama had dressed Chase in very cute skeleton pajamas that Nanaw liked so Nanaw waited until the last minute possible to change Chase into regular clothes. At one point, Chase was sitting in his high chair, and Nanaw gave him a picture of Mama and Dad at their wedding. He said Mama and Daddy correctly. Then he proceeded to chew the top off the picture. In the evening, Mama, Daddy and Chase went to Grandma Pat’s for a Christmas Eve dinner of ham and roast beef. Chase got lots of Christmas presents, including bye-byes and trucks. Nanaw went to Uncle Mike’s for a steak dinner, and cousin Joey took her to see his kitties Roscoe and Blossom.

On Monday, Chase and Nanaw drove up to UMSL to visit Uncle Mike to return his billfold/wallet that he left at Nanaw’s house on Sunday night. Chase seemed really happy to see Uncle Mike, and they did some bonding. Uncle Mike says when the weather gets warmer, Chase should come back and look at the vehicles and maybe go for a ride in the gator. In the afternoon, Chase had "school" – he played with the new "magic" paper Mama bought for him, and he and Nanaw watched part of Monster University again.

On Sunday afternoon, Mama, Daddy and Chase went to cousin Mallory’s for her fourth birthday party. Chase spent a lot of time playing with Mallory’s toys in her playroom. Mama and Daddy said he had a really good time with the toys. In the evening, Chase went to Cici’s for a pizza dinner for the 22nd birthday of his cousin Mike and cousin Kristie. Chase did a really funny thing of eating off Nanaw’s plate rather than from the plate Mama prepared for him.

Chase and Daddy went out to Wentzville to visit Grandma Pat and Aunt Patty, while Mama and Nanaw baked Christmas cookies. One of the cookies they baked was a "foot" – from Mama’s cookie cutters. So that was the first cookie Mama gave Chase when he got home – as part of Mama’s trick for Chase called "eat the foot." In the evening, Mama, Daddy and Chase went to a party at a friend’s house, and Mama said Chase had a great time running around, despite running into something and getting a mark on his cheek.

Happy Birthday Chase! He knows how to say two when he’s asked how old he is. Chase had lots of adventures today. The first one was going to breakfast at Dunkin Donuts with Mama and Nanaw, just like last year’s birthday adventure. Mama bought him another Dunkin Donuts ornament for his Christmas tree. Chase opened his birthday presents from Mama, Daddy and Nanaw when Daddy got home from work. Some of his presents included a Scout reader, a skull hat, lots of bye-byes (also known as Hot Wheels) and a zoo with lots of animals, Jackson and his mama and daddy came over for a dinner of Papa Murphy’s pizza. The plan was to go to see the Christmas lights at the Shrine but it was raining so the adventure was cancelled.

Chase had lots of adventures today – playing trains with Nanaw and then running errands that included Dollar Tree, the post office, the bank, a trip to Walmart and dropping something off at St. Anthony’s hospital. At Walmart, Chase was his usual "sticky fingas" self, having a great time pulling things off the shelves. He fell asleep on the way home from Walmart. But unfortunately, Chase didn’t stay asleep when he got home and so ended up not taking much of a nap. He stayed late at Nanaw’s while Mama and Daddy went to a happy hour for Uncle Charles’s birthday.

Chase and Nanaw had a quiet day at home today, playing in his room and then going to pretend "school" or "cool" as Chase calls it. While he was playing in his room, he found a "binky" that Drew from Nanaw’s work gave to him. Chase put it in his mouth and walked around the room with it – very funny, considering that he never used a binky when he was a baby. Last night, Chase got a big yellow Tonka truck from Aunt Becca and Uncle Stan, and he played with it all day – even wanting it on the tray of his high chair. Friday is Chase’s second birthday, and Mama is taking the day off work. First, Mama, Chase and Nanaw will have a birthday breakfast at Dunkin’ Donuts, just like last year’s birthday. Then they’ll go to Laptime at the Clayton Library. Hopefully, Nanaw’s new friend Susan the fiction writer, and her daughter Emily will be there so they can meet Mama. After Laptime, Mama, Chase and Nanaw are going to bake Christmas cookies at Chase’s house. Mama, Daddy, Chase and Nanaw will have dinner with Chase’s BFF Jackson and his Mama and Daddy. Then they’ll go to see the lights at the Shrine in Belleville. Chase and Jackson are going to love the lights.
