Chase still has his cold, with a cough and runny nose so Chase and Nanaw stayed home and didn’t go on any adventures. They had story time first thing in the morning but TJ and Taylor didn’t join them. Nanaw gave Chase some Tylenol, as Mama asked, and that seemed to make Chase feel better. He wore his warm, soft, comfy clothes for lounging around the house. Chase and Nanaw played with trains in his room and watched his Thomas videos. Chase took a nice, long nap – 3 ½ hours and Mama said that was a good thing because Chase didn’t sleep well at all Sunday night.

Because Chase still has his cold, with a cough and runny nose, Mama and Daddy decided he should stay home in the evening instead of going with them to have dinner with Aunt Kristen and Uncle Chappie (who are going to have a baby in six months). So Mama asked Nanaw to babysit, and of course, Nanaw was delighted to do so. Nanaw and Chase cooked in the kitchen again. They also colored with Chase’s new markers and special paper. Later, they played with the garage and all the "bee-byes." Then they went into Chase’s room and played "Pile."

Nanaw came to visit Chase on Saturday afternoon when Mama arrived home from her shopping adventure with Aunt Becca. Chase still has his cold, with a cough and runny nose. While Daddy went to church, Mama worked on fixing a home-made pizza for dinner. Chase decided he wanted to cook also. So Mama gave Chase a big bowl, a baking pan, and some large plastic utensils to play with. He played on the kitchen floor with the bowl and utensils, then decided he wanted to cook on the kitchen counter. So he went into the spare bedroom and carried the step stool into the kitchen, saying "Too heavy, too heavy" – very cute. Then Mama put the step stool in front of the stove and let Chase help her put the pepperoni on the pizza. Chase seemed delighted to help Mama "cook." When Daddy got home from church, Chase told him he cooked and helped Mama make the pizza.

Mama had the day off from work, and she, Chase and Nanaw went on a major Christmas shopping trip. First, they went to Krispy Kreme for doughnuts – Chase ate a whole glazed donut and seemed to really enjoy it. Mama got him a Krispy Kreme hat, and he wore it for a long while. Next, they went to Gravois Bluffs. The first stop there was Walmart, where Chase rode on a horsey and Mama let Nanaw buy a little kitchen for Chase for his birthday or for Christmas. Barnes & Noble was the next stop, where Chase played on the story time stage and on the Thomas table. He cried when they left because he wanted to keep playing on the Thomas table. They next went to Target, Penney’s, Five Below and Gandalf Mountain. Next, they went to Toys R Us, where Chase played on the Thomas table there. Mama bought some Thomas Mega Blocks for Chase for his birthday or Christmas. Chase was very entertaining at Uncle Mike’s birthday dinner, even though his coughing caused him to spit up his dinner. After dinner, everybody was sitting around the dining room table playing with Chase’s battery-operated Thomas trains. Chase tried on Lindsey's boots and then Aunt Becky put Uncle Mike’s two birthday presents on him – a Blues sweatshirt and a Cardinals sweatshirt and they both looked like long robes on him – very cute and very funny.

Today is Uncle Mike’s 49th birthday, and Nanaw video-taped Chase saying "Happy Birthday, Uncle Mike" – very cute. Chase and Nanaw went grocery shopping at Walmart to buy the supplies for Uncle Mike’s birthday dinner on Friday evening. Chase is very helpful during grocery shopping: Nanaw gives him the items and he puts (throws, really) the items in the grocery cart. Chase had "bones" and "fishies" from the vending machine and he rode on Elmo. Nanaw managed to avoid the Thomas aisle and didn’t buy another train for Chase, even though he kept saying "Go this way," and "Train." Chase also had fun playing with Nanaw’s scarf as they walked up and down the grocery aisles. Back at Nanaw’s house, Chase and Nanaw sharpened Chase’s colored pencils in the automatic pencil sharpener. Chase sat at the counter and colored in his Thomas coloring book.

Today was the day for Chase’s Train House adventure. Wednesdays are for members only at the Train House, which means the Thomas Table room doesn’t have as many little boys and girls there. Chase played with the trains, and Nanaw played with them, too. Chase also played with the mail, the magnetic puzzles, the magnetic truck collection, the puppets and the ponies on sticks. But he seemed to spend the most time in the kitchen, cooking and baking and serving Nanaw all kinds of food. He really seems to love the kitchen. Mama says he doesn’t need a kitchen to play with but she finally let Nanaw buy an inexpensive little kitchen. Nanaw thinks Chase will be very excited with the kitchen on his birthday or at Christmas.

Chase had an exciting adventure this afternoon at Edward Jones. Chase and Nanaw went to a retirement party there, and Chase seemed to have a grand time. As usual, he was charming and social. He had chocolate cake with Mama and Nanaw’s friend Jon Fahey. He ran around the atrium pushing his stroller. He talked to everybody and was his usual fearless self. After visiting with lots of Nanaw’s friends, Chase and Nanaw went upstairs with Julie to visit Marketing. Nanaw’s friend Cathy gave Chase paper and markers to draw with, and he didn’t want to leave. Nanaw was surprised to see that Chase now knows how to draw circles – very cute. Chase and Nanaw also visited Kate and Peggy, who gave him two pink pigs. Chase was quite the hit with everyone, and they all invited him to come back soon for another visit. In the morning, before they went to the post office, Nanaw told Chase she would put his shoes on. To Nanaw's surprise, Chase put his shoes on himself -- however, he put them on the wrong feet -- very cute.
