Happy Day After Christmas! Mama had the day off from work and went on an adventure with Chase and Nanaw. First, they went to the Train House. Once again, Chase didn’t want to go play with the Thomas tables; he wanted to watch the trains run. He seems to love to watch the trains run on the displays. He goes from one display to another, although he spends the most time at the display with the Thomas and Percy trains. Sunday is the last day for the train display, and Chase is going to be very sad when the trains are put away. After the Train House, Mama, Chase and Nanaw went to Dollar General, Walgreens and Walmart. They also went to Handyman Hardware to see if they still had an R2D2 outdoor decoration that Chase and Nanaw saw several weeks ago Nanaw wanted to buy it for Mama for her birthday. They didn’t have anymore but the sales clerk called the Florissant store and asked them to send one to the Telegraph Road store. Mama and Nanaw were very excited. They’ll call Nanaw when it comes in so she can go pick it up. In early December, Mama had wonderful pictures of Chase taken at Penney’s, and she gave prints to Nanaw and Grandma Pat for Christmas. She had pictures printed for Aunt Becca for tonight’s Christmas celebration with her and Uncle Stan. Aunt Becca’s friend Edie was there with her little two-year-old girl Noel, and Chase had a great time playing with her. Tee-Tee’s ear came off, and Mama said he was very sad about that. But Edie sewed it back on for him so that made him happy again.

Merry Christmas, Thursday, December 25, 2014
On Christmas morning, Nanaw went over to Chase’s house to see his Christmas presents. Among other things, he got a Cranky the Crane, a big dinosaur and a little dinosaur, and a grocery store scanner. Mama and Nanaw went to Walgreens to buy batteries for the scanner and the R2D2 cookie jar that Daddy bought Mama from Hallmark. In the afternoon, Mama, Daddy and Chase went to Grandma Pat’s in Wentzville for their Christmas celebration. Some of Chase’s presents included two pairs of pajamas, a Thomas expansion bridge and a Thomas water tower. Nanaw came over in the evening for a dinner of Little Smokey appetizers and cheesecake from Grandma Pat. After dinner, everybody went downstairs, and Daddy put together the water tower and Mama put together the expansion bridge. Chase now has a major Thomas the Train installation downstairs, which seems to make him very happy. It was a wonderful Christmas day.

Merry Christmas Eve, Wednesday, December 24, 2014
First thing in the morning on Christmas Eve, Chase and Nanaw made another trip to Walmart for more last minute Christmas shopping. Even at 8 in the morning, Walmart was already crowded. Chase and Nanaw made place cards for Christmas Eve dinner. Chase drew circles and dots on the paper and helped Nanaw put the Christmas stickers (dogs and cats in Christmas gear) on the place cards. Then Nanaw helped Chase make a Christmas card for Mama and Daddy. Then Chase watched while Nanaw put together a Christmas picture ornament for Mama and Daddy’s Christmas present from Chase. In the afternoon, Daddy stayed with Chase while Mama and Nanaw went to KFC to pick up the chicken for Christmas Eve dinner. Uncle Mike and Aunt Becky and all the cousins came for a major family Christmas celebration. Chase got lots of wonderful presents, including two Thomas pillows that Aunt Becky made for him (one for his house and one for Nanaw’s house), a wooden Thomas water tower, a talking James train and coal car from Uncle Mike and Aunt Becky, a Thomas puzzle, an Etch a Sketch, Lincoln Logs, and a Thomas rug. Nanaw got a church and a bait shop from the five grandchildren, a train station and a Christmas shoppe from Uncle Mike and Aunt Becky. From Mama, Nanaw got a stocking cap that says Mom, a Teddy Bear bubble gum jar labeled Nanaw, a Cardinals calendar, a gluten free cookbook, and a cat calendar – a very wonderful Christmas for everyone.

Chase and Nanaw made a trip to Walmart for some last minute Christmas shopping, and Chase asked Nanaw if they could go see the Christmas trees there so they did. The next stop on their shopping trip was Barnes & Noble at Gravois Bluffs to buy a Christmas present for Daddy. Nanaw bought him a book about fly fishing. He wants to start fly fishing, and Mama bought him a fly rod as one of her Christmas presents to him. The moment Chase and Nanaw drove into the parking lot, Chase said Thomas table so he knew right where they were. Chase went right to the Thomas table and played with the trains for a few minutes. Then he went to the stage where they have story time and played there for a few minutes. As usual, he didn’t want to leave and cried a little on the way out of the store.

Monday, December 22, 2014
Monday was a cold, rainy day so Chase and Nanaw stayed home at Nanaw's house where it was warm and dry and snug. Chase and Nanaw went downstairs to play trains and watch Thomas. Chase was wearing his new Thomas jacket and pants that Jackson gave him for his birthday -- very cute. While Chase was napping, Nanaw started getting things ready to wrap Christmas presents, an unusually early thing for Nanaw to do. Nanaw usually leaves present wrapping until the last minute on Christmas Eve. This year, everyone is coming at 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve so Nanaw has to be done wrapping by then. On the way to Chase’s house to take him home for the day, he said, "Hey, you’re going too fast." Then he said, "Go slow, Nanaw, go slow." It was very funny.
