Before school this morning, Chase played with abcmouse on Nanaw's laptop. He really loves abcmouse and is very enthusiastic about it. When he went to school, the first thing he did was get the storm trooper off the toy shelf -- he really likes that storm trooper. After school, Chase and Nanaw went to Dollar Tree to get another Hot Wheels car for Chase. While they were there, Chase said he had to go to the bathroom -- Dollar Tree didn't seem to have a rest room so Nanaw took him next door to Schnucks. Next, they went to the library to pick up the movie Inside Out that Nanaw had on request. In the middle of the library, Chase announced that he had to go poo so Nanaw took him to the rest room. Mama would have been humiliated -- good thing it was Nanaw. At first, Chase said he didn't want to watch it because it was scary (???) but then after he watched a couple of minutes of it, he liked it. When Chase and Nanaw got home from the library, Chase played with abcmouse again -- he now has 112 tickets to get something. He loves getting tickets. After his nap, Chase and Nanaw practiced holding crayons the right way and writing Chase's name and Tee Tee's name.

Nanaw went to visit Chase Sunday evening after finally talking to Mama. Evidently, Nanaw's phone isn't accepting calls from Mama again. So Mama sent a text -- very weird. Mama and Daddy told Nanaw about Chase's activities on abcmouse on today. He got enough "tickets" to get a puppy, and he couldn't think of a name for his puppy so he named him Sam, just like his own dog. While Nanaw watched, Chase got 100 tickets , enough to get a rack track. But Nanaw and Chase couldn't figure out what to do with the race track. Maybe they'll try again on Monday at Nanaw's house. Chase and Nanaw played with his big yellow car and boat for awhile. Then Chase got Daddy's iPad and started watching the kids videos on YouTube. Mama and Daddy told Nanaw and Chase that they were all going to the hockey game on Tuesday, February 9. Nanaw wasn't aware that she was going to a hockey game but it sounds like fun.

Mama returned home from her girls weekend about 2 p.m. -- just about the same time Chase and Daddy got home from visiting Grandma Pat in Wentzville. Mama called Nanaw about 5 :30 to come visit. She said Chase was in a bad mood and didn't want to do anything she wanted him to do. He told Mama not to call Nanaw to come over but she did anyway. The blanket with all of Sam's pictures came on Saturday so Nanaw took a picture of it -- it's wonderful. The first three pictures of Chase below are new from the ICS pre-school website. Chase showed Nanaw his new box of cereal with BB8 on it -- of Baby 8 as Chase says. Daddy and Chase demonstrated abcmouse to Mama and Nanaw. Chase can do it amazingly well, especially moving the mouse around and clicking the mouse -- which are hard things to do. He has a hamster in his room, and Mama wants him to earn 150 points or tickets so he can get a puppy for his room. Chase and Nanaw are going to have a wonderful time with abcmouse -- Chase will learn a lot and Nanaw will have lots of fun.

Mama had the day off from work on Friday so she took Chase to school. Mama had an exciting girls weekend planned with her friends Aunt Kristen and Aunt Theresa. Aunt Kristen and Mama were going shopping at the outlet malls in Chesterfield and then they were going to stay overnight at the hotel at the Hollywood Casino. That's where cousin Mike works as a security guard so Mama was going to be sure to see him. Nanaw wanted her to take a picture but Mama said probably not. When Nanaw picked Chase up from school, he backed out of the door and backed across the sidewalk. Nanaw turned him around before he could back up the steps -- what a funny kid! On the walk to the car, he threw what he calls snowballs at Nanaw -- just handfuls of snow. Before Chase's nap, he and Nanaw played with his cars. Then Chase played with the color-changing cars and water. After his nap, Nanaw set up paints, markers, crayons, stickers, paper, and coloring and painting books on the kitchen counter. Then Chase and Nanaw colored and painted and had a great time. When Nanaw took Chase home, he threw "snowballs" at Daddy. Daddy told him they were going to Waterloo Walmart and that Chase could have a toy. Chase said he wanted another color-changing toy. Daddy told Nanaw that he was signing Chase up for abcmouse.com and would give her the password as soon as he had it. Chase is going to love that.

Very exciting train thing happened today. Mama brought the remotes and the engines for the train Mama's friend Jane gave to Chase a couple of years ago. the track is set up downstairs but the remotes and engines needed batteries. So last night Daddy put in the batteries. Chase was absolutely delighted to play with the trains. He and Nanaw spent a couple of hours downstairs playing with the trains, until it was time to go to Story Time at the Columbia library. Miss Candy's stories were about polar bears, very appropriate for the cold, snowy weather. The craft was a snow hat, and Chase had fun gluing it altogether -- he loves glue sticks. Chase went to play with the toys after the craft was finished, but the toys weren't there, and he was very disappointed. Miss Candy apologized and said she couldn't get the toys out because the library was going to have a book sale downstairs. But she promised that the toys would be out in two weeks at the next Story Time. Chase and Nanaw went to Walmart after Story Time, and Nanaw bought Chase a changing color Mater and a Mac truck -- he was very happy about that. He played with color changing Mater when they got home, before his nap, and the again after his nap. When Nanaw took Chase home, Daddy took Chase's car seat out of her car and put in a new booster seat he bought.

Exciting day for Chase -- his first snow day! At 6 a.m. Wednesday morning, Mama got a robocall saying that Immaculate Conception School was closed. Mama very graciously brought Chase over to Nanaw's house rather than having Nanaw driving over to Chase's house in the snow. Mama brought all of chase's snow gear: his snow pants, snow boots, and extra clothes. Chase and Nanaw played downstairs for awhile before going outside to play in the snow. Nanaw took out big plastic spoons, buckets, Chase's wagon and a big box to use as a sled. Chase had a wonderful time outside. Nanaw gave him a snow shovel and he shoveled Nanaw's driveway a little bit and actually seemed to know what he was doing. His favorite thing was throwing snowballs at Nanaw. He would throw snow at her and then shout "Gotcha!" Very cute. He loved it when Nanaw did the same thing to him. From somewhere, he learned to make snow angels -- Nanaw took lots of pictures of him making snow angels. Of course, Chase didn't want to come in the house but Nanaw promised to make snow ice cream for him. She made chocolate snow ice cream, and Chase liked it a lot. Daddy came to pick Chase up in the afternoon, and Chase was happy that they were going to go outside and play in the snow.

Chase and Nanaw spent a quiet day at home, safe and warm. They made one venture out into the cold, to go to the cemetery. Chase and Nanaw spent much of the day playing with Chase’s car collection. Chase played for a long while in the deep bathtub with his cars – no water, of course. He brought along his DVD player and watched Cars 2 while playing with his cars. While he was playing with the cars in the tub, he put two plastic guns on the back of Mater to make a gun truck -- very funny and a little scary. They also played downstairs for awhile. In the afternoon, it began to snow and by the time Mama started for home, the snow was causing traffic problems. Mama had to reschedule her hair appointment in Florissant because she got stuck in traffic. Mama told Nanaw she would pick Chase up from Nanaw’s house on her way home but it took her two hours to get there. Chase and Nanaw built a fire while they were waiting for Mama. For awhile, they played with Chase’s cars in front of the fire.
