Nanaw went to chase's house on Sunday evening for a steak dinner and to play with Chase. But the little bug was sick. Mama said he threw up in the afternoon, and he was asleep when Nanaw got there. Dinner -- steak and corn on the cob -- was delicious. Dessert was even better: strawberries, strawberry syrup, vanilla ice cream and whipped cream -- yum, yum. Chase finally woke up but didn't want to eat any dinner. He went into the living room to lie down on his Gascar chair. Nanaw went in there with him and played with him and his stuffed animals for awhile. Daddy has the day off tomorrow so Nanaw won't be taking care of him but she'll go see him when Mama gets home from work. Nanaw only took one picture of Chase -- when he was sound asleep.

When Nanaw got up on Saturday morning, the lights were on in Chase's room. Even though he had a fairly bright night light in there, he must have gotten up in the middle of the night and turned on the lights. He's such a funny little fellow. Nanaw got to keep Chase till almost noon because Mama and Daddy went to the Jeep dealer in Columbia to buy a new car for Mama. Chase played lots of things in the morning. He wanted to do a water experiment where you test different things to see if they float. Then he and Nanaw played the rhyming game together. Chase also wanted to finish his friendship journal from school, He wrote Andrew's name and drew his picture, and then he wrote Drew's name and drew his picture. It was all very cute and very unexpected. He also played with his floating fish and fish bowl and with his Cars color-changing cars. So he had quite the busy morning. Chase was very excited when Mama and Daddy came with Mama's new car; Mama took everyone for a ride around the block, and that was fun. After they left Nanaw's house, they went to the big Columbia park to meet Brady and Emma and their mama and daddy to play in the park. Mama said Chase had a really goo time except that he kept wanting whatever Brady was playing with, and Brady would then give it to him.

Friday was a big day for Nanaw and Chase, with lots of adventures. The weather was really nice and very warm so after school, Chase and Nanaw went to the little park by the Columbia Library. Chase was very excited about how many of his friends were there for him to play with: Brady and his sister Emma; Audrey and her sister Vivian and brother Teddy; a girl named Zoe; and a boy named Drew. Chase had a really great time with all the boys and girls, and he was very sad to leave, but Chase and Nanaw had other things to do. First, they went to the Telegraph Road library to pick up books, then they went to one of their two main adventures: The Magic House. Once again, Chase spent all of his time in the Daniel Tiger room. (He did spend a few minutes in the Blues hockey room and with some the wall puzzles). He had a great time with the little trolley and the pretend cars. He also played for a long while with the wooden clocks. Just as Nanaw and Chase were leaving the magic House, a huge crowd of people started arriving. Nanaw saw the sign that said it was free family night, courtesy of Emerson. After the Magic House, Chase and Nanaw went to the tunnel McDonald's by Walmart. Chase was very excited because there were several boys and girls there for him to play with, and he had a great time. Nanaw was very excited because she got to keep Chase overnight. Mama and Daddy were going out to dinner and to a movie as their Valentine treat. They had dinner at 54th Street and saw the Star Wars movie Rogue One at Ronnie's. Chase watched the Polar Express movie on his DVD player and had popcorn. Nanaw opened up his futon and put the sheet and comforter on it. It was a wonderful day and a wonderful evening.

While Chase and Nanaw were eating breakfast at the kitchen counter on Thursday morning, Nanaw looked in the newspaper to see who the hockey Blues were playing Thursday evening; Mama, Daddy and Chase were going to the game. So then Chase says, "Let me see that paper." Nanaw gave it to him, and he put it down on the counter and looked like he was reading it. Nanaw took of picture of him and sent it to Mama, and she really liked it. Then Nanaw and Chase had story time reading two of his new Noodles the dog books. Chase was able to read the title of the "I Love Snow" book -- very impressive. His Mama is teaching him to spell: Besides his name, he can spell Sam, Mama and Daddy and he can almost spell Tee Tee. Chase's adventure for Thursday was Story Time with Miss Candy at the Columbia Library. There were six little girls there (or "grils" as Chase calls them. Miss Candy read two books, one about a shark and one about an octopus. The craft was painting a puffer fish, with a dish scrubber and putting on "eyeballs" -- one of Chase's favorite things. Miss Candy told Nanaw that she's retiring at the end of June, and that Miss Annette is now the director of the whole library -- good for her. After story time, Chase and Nanaw went to the playground, and Chase played with a little girl named Ella, who had been in Story Time. He had a great time with her. After the playground, Chase and Nanaw went to the car wash and then to the Telegraph Road to pick up books for Nanaw. In the afternoon, Chase and Nanaw played hockey again, and Chase did abcmouse again. In the evening, Chase, Mama and Daddy went to ScottTrade Center to see the Blues play the Vancouver Canucks.

On Wednesday morning, Nanaw and Chase ate breakfast together at the kitchen counter. Nanaw had an eye doctor appointment after taking Chase to school. At school, Chase waited in line to sign in on the smart board. He told Nanaw he was going to go over to the Mr. Potato Head table and play with that. When Nanaw picked Chase up from school, he had the cutest had on his head. The boys and girls made Valentine hats with eyeballs on them. All the children looked cute. Chase wore his hat all the way home. At Nanaw's house, Chase got his golf clubs and a ball, and Chase and Nanaw played Chase's version of "hockey." For awhile, Chase played with abcmouse and showed Nanaw the penguin and fish that he bought with the tickets he earned. He also played with his LeapPad. He's discovered the recording function of the LeapPad, and he kept recording himself yelling and screaming and then listening to it, over and over again. When Nanaw took Chase home, Mama and Daddy had his air hockey game all set up on the kitchen table. Chase was so excited about it and started playing with Daddy right away -- it was very cute. Mama took a picture of him playing the game and posted it on Facebook.

Happy Valentine's Day to Chase. First thing in the morning, Chase and Nanaw went to Walmart to get his Valentine's present. First, they found Mr. Potato Head, and Chase was happy about that. Then he picked out a clever Lightning McQueen race car that turns into a ramp. Nanaw couldn't figure out how o put it together so she saved it for Daddy to put together -- and he did his usual perfect job. After Walmart, Chase and Nanaw went to the Magic House to see the Daniel Tiger display. Chase was so excited about the display -- he knew exactly where it was and how to get there -- he led Nanaw there and didn't make any stops along the way -- a first and a wondrous thing. Chase and Nanaw spent their whole time at the Daniel Tiger display. Chase pushed a little trolley around for a long time. He also played with the pretend vehicles and looked at all the figures and buildings and toys. Nanaw promised to bring Chase back to the Daniel Tiger display at the Magic House on Friday afternoon after school -- and they would go to the tunnel McDonald's for dinner. Chase is going to spend the night with Nanaw on Friday night, sleeping on his futon for the first time. In the evening, Nanaw came over for dinner -- KFC -- yum, yum. She got lots of wonderful presents from Mama -- a red flowered plant, a Cardinals infinity scarf, a box of Russell Stover chocolates, a little stuffed puppy and glzed pecans -- what a wonderful Valentine's Day for Nanaw.

Monday was the day for Chase's Pre-K Valentine and Friendship celebration. Last year, they had a party but this year was a little different. Each child brought a Valentine book or friendship book to exchange with the other children. Supposedly, there were going to be no Valentines exchanged although a few children brought Valentines for everyone. When Nanaw took Chase to school, Ms. Merz was helping the children wrap their books with Valentine paper so Nanaw helped Chase and Andrew wrap their books. Then Chase went to play with Mr. Potato Head, and Nanaw thought that would be a good Valentine present for Chase so maybe they'll buy Mr. Potato Head at Walmart on Tuesday. Mama and Nanaw picked Chase up from school, and he showed them the book he got -- Splat the Cat. On their way home, they stopped at Dollar Tree where Chase got a dolphin, a slinky, a hockey sticker book, an packages of stickers. Then they went to Schnucks to get something for Valentine's Day for Daddy. When they got home, Mama had Chase address the Valentine card envelope to Daddy and then sign his name on the card. Then Mama and Chase put hockey player stickers in the hockey sticker book. Both of them were very excited about the sticker book and are planning to buy more stickers.
