Nanaw went to Chase's baseball practice on Saturday morning. Part of the practice was throwing and catching the ball. For a couple of minutes, Nanaw threw the ball to Chase because there wasn't anyone else to do it. Nanaw went where Chase was hitting and fielding rather than sitting with Mama. One of the other ladies asked Mama if I was mad at her because I wasn't sitting with her. Hopefully, Mama said No. Chase did some really good hitting. Nanaw thinks he was the best of all. After practice, Nanaw went out to the little house and took Sidney Crosby the Cat with her. Mama had to do some computer testing at home, and Chase and Daddy went out to Wentzville to celebrate Grandma Pat's birthday. Chase brought a piece of birthday cake home for Mama -- he's such a sweetheart.

Chase was sick again during the night so he stayed home from school on Friday. He wore his Chase Paw Patrol shirt even though he didn't go to school -- Friday was wearing your favorite television or movie hero. Friday was the carnival but Chase didn't seem to mind missing it. Mama emailed Mrs. Herrmann about Chase being sick and she sent back a sweet email about him and said to have Chase's grandma give him hugs. Chase wanted a fort so Nanaw built one out of two chairs and two blankets. He took his amamals, pillows and tablet in there and had lots of fun. He asked for popstickles, as he calls them. Then he wanted Pedialyte. Then he asked for baby chippies. He seems to be doing a lot better, even though he insists he still has a fever -- but he doesn't. Mama wants him to take a nap and he did -- he took a 3-hour nap. Mama was going out to dinner with a friend and Daddy was going to take Chase to the driving range.

 Today's special outfit at school was to select your favorite decade. Chase chose Star Wars as his decade. Nanaw saw lots and lots of cool clothes. There was a workout outfit (like John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John), lots and lots of hippie outfits and tie-dyed clothes, something from the 30s with suspenders, and best of all, a poodle skirt worn by Chase's tablemate Stella. When Chase came home from school, he wanted to play baseball, and Nanaw said okay. But then he went in his room and started to watch Chase TV. Nanaw came in to sit with him, and they ended up fixing his Ultimate Cars Race Track. Then they played with the Cars cars and had lots of fun. Nanaw loves playing with Chase. In the evening Mama texted that Chase threw up twice -- but no one knows why. Hopefully, the little fellow is okay and not sick. Tomorrow is a carnival at school and Mama and Nanaw don't want Chase to miss it.

Wednesday was hero day where the boys and girls selected their hero or favorite superhero or movie hero or sports hero to dress like. Chase wore his Yadier Molina shirt; so did Henry. Joey was Principal Kish; Stella was Mrs. Herrmann. There were two Tarasenkos. Nanaw did her volunteer work on Wednesday and had a great time looking at what the boys and girls were wearing -- it was very interesting and lots of fun. Th \e volunteer work was helping the class do marble painting for Earth Day next Monday. They had paint on a circle in a basket and rolled marbles around the basket to streak the paint on the circle. It was super fun. Chase had a dentist appointment after school and then had another baseball game at 6 p.m. Nanaw had a church board meeting and was sad that she couldn't go to Chase's baseball game. On Tuesday, Chase wore a black shirt and black pants -- for black out. The boys and girls could also wear all white or two contrasting colors. Chase also took a bag of pennies to school for a game they're going to play. Eventually the pennies will be donated to the mission. Nanaw went to check the chicks when she took Chase to school and took pictures of the chicks. After school, they went to the park and Chase played soccer with Brady and another boy. Of course, he didn't want to leave but eventually he was all right. Chase and Nanaw went to the library to get books for Mama and that turned out to be a bad idea. Highway workers were doing emergency repairs on the Illinois side of the Jefferson Barracks bridge and traffic was backed up for miles. Chase and Nanaw were stuck in traffic for 2 1/2 hours and Chase missed his first baseball game. Nanaw dropped him at the field at the end of the game. Hopefully he got to see his teammates.

This week is a special week for Chase's school. Each day has a different theme. Monday's theme was pajama day. Chase wore his Mario jammies, which he says are his favorite. When Nanaw took Chase to school, she saw that Mrs. Herrmann was wearing pajamas that said Thing 1 -- from Dr. Seuss. When Nanaw picked Chase up, Mrs. Herrmann showed her the certificate that Chase was awarded for his patience. He was the only one in his class to get a certificate. Mrs. Herrmann said each day one of the boys or girls would get a certificate. Chase told Nanaw that he was "freaking out when he went to the office in his pajamas" to get the certificate. Nanaw was very proud of Chase for his certificate and so were Mama and Daddy. Chase wanted a certificate for Tee Tee for being a friend of Chase and for being good in school every day. So Nanaw made the certificate for Tee Tee and took pictures of Chase with each certificate. When Chase got home, Mama and Daddy were on the phone with Grandma Pat, saying Happy Birthday to her. Chase said Happy Birthday to her also and talked to her for awhile -- it was very cute.

Nanaw went to visit Chase on Sunday before dinner time. Mama was working on a chicken/bacon/pasta casserole but couldn't find her cream cheese. So Daddy volunteered to go to the store to get the cream cheese. Chase was sitting at the kitchen table playing with his Lego hockey and baseball players. Nanaw brought along two of Chase's workbooks, the I Spy book and the yellow duckling. So first, Chase and Nanaw completed some pages in one of the workbooks. Then they went into Chase's room to read the I Spy book and play I Spy. They had lots of fun and lots of laughter with I Spy. Then they played Simon Says -- more fun and more laughter. Chase is such a delight to play with. Mama had Chase come into the kitchen to pick up his Legos and put them away. Nanaw is so proud of the good job Mama is doing in making Chase into a responsible little citizen of the world -- or at least their home. Then Mama had Chase go sit with Daddy to practice tying his shoelaces. It was the first time Nanaw got to see him practice, and she was very impressed at the good job he did.
