On Monday, Chase had his first day at Magic House Camp. He was very excited about going. When Nanaw took him in, they had the wrong name for him but said they'd correct their records and get him a hat with the correct name. One of the ladies said they take pictures and send them by email, and Nanaw received two cute pictures. Nanaw was late picking Chase up because of traffic but it worked out okay. In the afternoon, Mama came over and helped Nanaw take Charlie to the vet. He's so big and heavy that Nanaw can't carry him in the pet taxi and needs' Mama's help. Nanaw had a difficult time getting him in the pet taxi but finally managed to do it. At the vet, when they put Charlie on the scale in the exam room, he hunkered down into the scale and didn’t want to get off the scale. So the vet let him stay in the scale for the exam and his shots. It was very cute and sweet, and Chase really enjoyed it. When they got back to Nanaw's house, Mama let Chase stay with Nanaw until 5 o'clock, which made Nanaw happy. After Nanaw took Chase home, she went to the Telegraph Road and Lemay Ferry Dollar Tree stores looking for a Forky, but neither store had any Toy Story figures. Nanaw bought almonds with M&Ms for Mama, and for Chase she bought, two workbooks, another bag of marbles, and goggles.

On Sunday, Chase went swimming in his pool again, and Mama came outside with him. Mama took a picture of Chase standing in his pool and sent it to Nanaw. Mama spent the night with her BFF Auntie LaLa. Uncle Chris, Phoebe and little Will went camping, and Auntie LaLa stayed home. Mama will be back tomorrow morning. She has the day off from work, and she and Chase are going to help Nanaw take Charlie to the vet. Charlie is so big that Nanaw can't carry him by herself. Chase has his first day at Magic House Camp tomorrow morning, and he's looking forward to it. In the afternoon, Chase and Daddy went to the driving range; Chase said he did a really good job hitting the golf ball, and Daddy agreed that he got some good hits. Nanaw came to visit Chase in the evening. They played outside for awhile with Chase's water guns. Chase did his thing again of shooting the water up in the air, pretending it was fireworks. Then they came inside and did two workbook pages, one in the Illinois book and one in the new Test Prep book Nanaw bought at Dollar Tree on Friday. Then they went downstairs and Chase played Minecraft, while Nanaw watched him play.

Nanaw went to visit Chase on Saturday morning. Daddy had taken Grandma Pat to Waterloo for a blood test, then to Great Clips for a haircut. Mama, Chase and Nanaw took the three dogs for a walk. It was great fun, and Nanaw was happy because she got to walk Sam. Later, Mama, Daddy and Chase York Dolly home to Jackson, Jen and Joe. In the afternoon, Daddy have Chase a wonderful surprise. He bought a little swimming pool for Chase Mama said Chase was very excited about it. Mama sent Nanaw a picture of the pool. Later Mama fixed make your own pizza for dinner. Mama sent Nanaw pictures of Chase making pizza and also eating sausage. Very cute.

Chase and Nanaw had a busy, exciting day of adventures on Friday. First, they went to the Magic House and had their best day there ever. They went to the new water area for the first time. No one else was there, which Chase really liked. Next, they went to the crafts area and spent a really long time there. Chase and Nanaw made all kinds of interesting things out of miscellaneous scraps. Chase really liked doing that. Next, they went to the science lab, also for the first time. Nanaw was so happy that Chase was willing to go to those two new areas. Usually, he's not very willing to do new things but today he was. He had a great time in the science lab. He did a science experiment, making baking soda bubble and fizz by putting drops of vinegar on it. He also played in the topographical sandbox. It's similar to the one that the Science Center used to have but got rid of. Then they went to the water area one more time. Then Chase said it was time to go to the Train House, for their second adventure of the day. Chase said he wanted to show Nanaw's friend there how he lost his tooth. That was the first thing he said to Miss Lynn when they got there. It was the cutest thing. The got popcorn, looked at the trucks in the display area, rode on the train and Chase rode on the handcars. He said he wanted to go home instead of going up the hill to see all the trains. Nanaw was fine with that because it was hotter outside than she'd expected. In the evening, Mama, Daddy, Chase and Nanaw went to Bully's for dinner. Nanaw had delicious ribs, and Chase had chicken fingers and mac and cheese. Chase wanted Nanaw to stay awhile when they got back to his house so she did. They played baseball with Daddy for awhile, then went downstairs and Nanaw watched Chase play Minecraft on the Xbox. Finally, Chase said it was all right for Nanaw to go home.

Nanaw had planned for her and Chase to go to the Magic House on Thursday morning but decided to reschedule it to Friday morning. She had to get the house picked up for the cleaning lady. In the afternoon, Chase and Nanaw went to the Telegraph Road library while the cleaning lady was at Nanaw's house. Nanaw took along Chase's schoolwork to do at the library. At first, Chase protested that he didn't want to do school at the library. Bu eventually he started liking it and did very well. He even said they could do school at the library again. After the library, Chase and Nanaw went to the big Dollar Tree on Telegraph Road and got lots of toys for Chase. Then Mama, Chase and Nanaw went to Chase's swimming lesson at Kennedy. Next, they went to Chase's last baseball game of the season. Once again, Chase did well at batting and fielding. The team got trophies, and Chase was very excited about it.

Chase was so excited on Wednesday morning because his loose tooth finally came out. He kept looking in the mirror and talking about the Tooth Fairy coming to visit him Wednesday night. Mama got out his Tooth Fairy stuffed toy and sent two lost tooth books -- Noodles and Llama Llama. In the afternoon, Chase went out to play in the water. He pretended that his water guns were fireworks, shooting them into the air. It was very cute. After awhile, it started to thunder and lightning and then it poured down rain. But it stopped in time for Chase's swimming lesson. When Chase and Nanaw came in the house, they had school for about an hour and a half. It seems to work well for Nanaw to make a list of the things they were going to do in school each day and then check the things off the list. Daddy had the day off from work so he went along with Mama and Chase to watch Chase take his lesson. Mama said he told her he learned to float today and that he really likes his swimming lessons and that he's doing good.

The first two photos are from Mama of Chase's first swimming lesson. The instructor said he did a good job. On Tuesday morning, Chase told Nanaw that he had fun at his swimming lesson and that they loaned him a pair of swim goggles. Mama told Nanaw it was too hot for her to go along but Nanaw and Chase decided that she would go on Thursday when it's a little cooler and less humid. It's also Chase's last baseball game of the season so Nanaw can go with them. Chase and Nanaw went to Walmart and Nanaw tried to buy him a Toy Story toy but he didn't want any toys. At his request, she bought him a humongous bag of sharp cheddar cheese and huge tortillas for his cheese roll-ups. Then they went to the library to get more books for Mama. On their way home, they got caught in a huge traffic jam caused by two things: two lanes of 255 were closed for road construction and route 3 was closed because of a horrific fatal accident at North Main and Route 3. When Chase and Nanaw got home, they had school. Chase was pretty good about it and seemed to have more fun with school than usual.
