Saturday night was another exciting adventure for Chase. He, Daddy. Mama and Nanaw went to Boo in the Zoo. They met Brady and Emma and their parents there. There was a lot of traffic getting there and a long line to get it. But Mama and Daddy's company was one of the sponsors so they didn't have to wait in the long line. Chase wore his scary Thanos costume again; Brady was the Pennywise clown from It; and Emma was a witch. Once again, Nanaw had a big bag of kettle corn. Chase had a pretzel again; he really loves his pretzels. The lights, decorations and displays were wonderful' Mama especially liked the mummies. Nanaw liked the headless horseman. There weren't very many animals out, and most of the zoo was blocked off. They saw the polar bear, sleeping in his habitat -- very cute. Mama, Daddy and Chase went into the herpetarium, and Nanaw waited outside with their food and drinks. It started to sprinkle, and Nanaw was glad she brought her little umbrella. It wasn't working very well, however, so Nanaw will have to buy herself a new little umbrella.

Friday evening was an exciting adventure for Chase. He, Mama, Daddy and Nanaw went to Grant's Farm for the Halloween celebration there. They met Aunt Jen, Uncle Joe and Jackson. Jackson had on a Thor Avenger costume, and Chase wore his Thanos costume. They had some mock battles that were really cute. In the photo area at the beginning, they staged a mock battle for the photo. The ride through the park was sufficiently spooky, with lights and skeletons and ghosts and bonfires and all the animals. There was also spooky music. Uncle Joe bought Nanaw some kettle corn, which made her very happy. Jackson and Chase fed bottles of milk to the goats, and Mama did also. There were lots of spooky displays with ghosts and skeletons and mummies. After looking at all the scary displays, they all went to the bauhaus area to get something to eat. They got hot dogs, pretzels, French fries and nachos. It was a wonderful evening, and everyone had a super-duper time.

When Nanaw took to school on Thursday morning, she saw another Dog Man book on someone's desk. She showed it to Chase and told him he should make that his corner book when the other boy was done with it. After school, Chase and Nanaw went to the Telegraph Road library. Chase and Nanaw played for awhile with the little pretend grocery store and cash register. Then they built some things with the magnetized plastic squares and triangles. Next, they did the Wildlife Creatures scavenger hunt. They did really well with it; Nanaw thought it might be easier than the others. Nanaw found two Halloween books and a book about light and sound experiments. Chase found some science experiments, and they took two of them home. On the way out, they made their usual stop at the vending machine. For the first time with Chase, Nanaw got something also; Nanaw got a Snickers bar, and Chase got Cheez-its. When they got home, Chase and Nanaw did the science experiment from the library -- making a cup scream, using dental floss, a paper clip and a plastic cup. It was a lot of fun. After the experiments, Nanaw read the two Halloween books to Chase. Nanaw enjoyed doing that because it had been awhile since she read to Chase; lately, he's been reading to Nanaw.

When Nanaw took Chase to school on Wednesday morning, she tried to help him hang his jacket and backpack in his locker. But she didn't do it the way Chase wanted -- so he showed her how to hang the backpack facing out. It was very funny. Nanaw told Mama about it and said she hoped that Chase didn't become obsessive about doing things a certain way and only that way. When Nanaw picked Chase up from school, he told her he had good news. He got the little sneak peek booklet for the new Dog Man book that comes out on December 10. He was very excited about it. There are four more Dog Man books to buy, including the new one that comes out December 10. Nanaw was very excited because she got two and half hours of bonus time with Chase. Mama and Daddy had a meeting at church from 6:30 to 7:30. Chase and Nanaw played with kinetic sand on the kitchen counter, then Chase played with Word on the laptop. He inserted a clip art turtle into a Word document and then had Nanaw print it out for him. Next, he watched Denis videos on You Tube. Nanaw built a fire, which Mama enjoyed when she came to pick Chase up.

When Chase came to Nanaw's house on Tuesday morning, they played with Fluffy, the Arctic fox cub Mama bought for him yesterday at the Zoo. Nanaw had Chase get dressed first thing, and that seemed to work well so she'll try that from now on. At school, Mrs. Meyer was having a little trouble talking because of getting her wisdom teeth pulled on Friday. She said she could have used another day and that she wouldn't be able to talk to the boys and girls as much as usual. When Nanaw picked Chase up from school, she didn't notice that he forgot his jacket. Hopefully, Mama has another one for him to wear tomorrow. After school, Chase and Nanaw played with the kinetic sand. They made food, sand castles, a crab and a turtle. Then Chase played on the computer. He wanted to write a story but ended up playing with Word and inserting pictures, then deleting them. In the evening, Mama and Chase were going to go the bowling alley to watch Daddy bowl and to eat dinner.

Chase was off school on Monday for Columbus Day, and Mama had the day off also. Mama, Chase and Nanaw had a wonderful adventure. They went to the zoo! The weather was beautiful -- a bit chilly at first but very sunny. The zoo was a little crowded because a lot of people were off work or off school. The zoo was decorated for Boo in the Zoo, and Mama was very excited about all the Halloween decorations -- pumpkins, skeletons. Spiders, mummies, ghosts and lots more. They visited the elephants (Mama's favorites) and the penguins (Chase's favorites) but not the zebras (Nanaw's favorites). Chase didn't want to ride the train so they didn’t. They also saw bears, fish, the rhino, and puffins. The painted dogs were hiding out so they didn't get to see them. After the penguins, Chase saw an Arctic fox cub in the penguin gift shop that he really liked but he didn't know whether to get it or to wait and see what the big gift shop had. Mama told him to wait and look at the big gift shop. She said either I'd find some thing else he wanted or they would have an Arctic fox -- and they did and that's what Chase got. He named the Arctic fox cub Fluffy. On the way home, Mama dropped some bags off at Goodwill. Then they went to the tunnel McDonald's on Telegraph for lunch, and Chase played in the play area. Other boys and girls were there, and Chase had a great time. Next, they went to Walmart to get storage tubs for Mama and Toy Story 4 for Nanaw. But they didn't have just the Toy Story 4 DVD. Nanaw went to Waterloo Walmart and got the last Toy Story 4 DVD. Yay!

Nanaw got two visits with Chase on Sunday: Bonus time! In the afternoon, Mama, Chase and Nanaw went to Stuckmeyer's Pumpkin Farm in Fenton. Chase spent most of the time on the free playground, playing on the monkey bars, climbing on the rock wall, going down the slides, and swinging on the tire swing. He also spent a lot of time in the corn silo. Mama, Chase and Nanaw went in the corn maze and had fun finding their way out. Nanaw bought a big bag of kettle corn and two small bags for Chase and Mama. Nanaw took a picture of Chase and Mama, and Mama took a picture of Chase and Nanaw. In the evening, Nanaw came over to Chase's house for a chili dinner. Chase did his 7s flashcards while he ate his cheese quesadilla that Mama made for him. After dinner, Chase and Nanaw played with the light-up balloons Mama bought at Dollar Tree. They played in Chase's room with the balloons and then made a fort with blankets. Next, they went out in the dark back yard with the light-up balloons and played with them out there. Tyler escaped out the back door, and Mama and Nanaw chased him around the back yard. Mama finally caught him and got him back inside. Then Chase and Nanaw went inside and played hockey downstairs.
