On Tuesday morning, Nanaw put big safety pins in Chase's coat to keep the lining from coming loose. She's going to sew the sleeves in. When Chase got to school, Mrs. Meyer was just getting there so the classroom was still locked. The boys and girls were standing outside the room, making lots of noise. Mrs. Diewald, the other second grade teacher unlocked the door for them, just as Mrs. Meyer arrived. So all was well. When Nanaw picked Chase up from school, he told her that one of the safety pins in his coat sleeve came loose so he put it in his pocket. He also said the safety pricked his thumb but it didn't bleed. After school, Chase and Nanaw went to the bank where Chase got one of his green suckers. Then they went to Dollar Tree and spent a long, long time there. Chase decided he and Nanaw had to buy Christmas presents and early birthday presents for Tee Tee. Nanaw and Chase each got a stuffed dog for Tee Tee for Christmas and Hot Wheels for his early birthday presents. Chase also selected toys for himself: a Christmas penguin, an archeology dig toy, a Christmas Tic Tac Toe game, and a Go Fish card game. Next, they went to Waterloo Schnuck's for lactose free cottage cheese. On the way home, Chase fell asleep. When he woke up, he was in a really good mood, which made Nanaw very happy.

Chase was all excited about taking Sam and Sylvester to Nanaw's house on Monday morning. The men were coming to work on the foundation of their house, and Mama was thinking the dogs might bark all day. And Sylvester might try to get out. So Nanaw provided doggie daycare. Chase brought along his new doggie blanket that Mama bought for him at Kohl's on Saturday. Mama said he loves his new blanket. The dogs were very good for Nanaw except they ate all the ham she brought home from Mama. When Nanaw picked Chase up from school, his hair was soaking wet. Nanaw asked him what happened, and Chase said he poured water on his head because he was all sweaty from playing hockey in gym. What a character that boy is! Nanaw had the Legos and Roblox figures set up on the kitchen counter. Chase and Nanaw played with them all afternoon. Mama came to pick up Sam and Sylvester about 4:30. Then Nanaw took Chase home at the regular time. He cuddled with his very soft doggie blanket on the way home -- it was very cute.

Nanaw went to visit Chase on Sunday evening and to have a delicious dinner of ham and Mama's special rice dish. Chase had requested ham for dinner and Mama complied. She also fixed crescent rolls but surprisingly enough, Chase only ate one crescent roll. Mama and Nanaw asked Chase if he wanted to play a game after dinner, but he didn't seem interested. Nanaw suggested Yeti Spaghetti but Chase said no. Nanaw went into the living room to play with Chase. He was playing his own version of Clash of Clans, a game that Daddy told him about and that Daddy plays. Nanaw is going to see if she can download it to her phone. Nanaw then suggested to Mama that they go to Walgreen's to see if they could find peanut brittle for Uncle Mike for his birthday. They wanted Chase to go with them but he said no, he was going to stay and play with Daddy. Nanaw had a great time with Mama at Walgreen's. They didn't find any peanut brittle but Nanaw bought chocolate covered cherries for Uncle Mike, and Mama found Russell Stove candy and also a little swinging toy. She got peanut M&Ms for Chase and Daddy.

On Saturday morning, Mama, Chase and Nanaw went on a shopping adventure at Gravois Bluffs. First they went to Kohl's. Mama bought Chase a hoodie sweatshirt, two pairs of winter jammies and a robe. Nanaw bought him a nerf revolver that will be a birthday present, and Mama bought a Fortnite toy and a Roblox toy for Chase for his birthday. Nanaw added some things to Chase's Christmas list: laser tag, Fortnite battle bus, electronic Uno, crayon maker, and glow in the dark slime. After Kohl's, they went to 5 Below. Mama bought a Jack ornament and candy. Nanaw bought a phone charger and a Snickers with almonds. Mama had picked up a Jack ornament at Kohl's but set it down and left it when she looked at a PacMan game. She'll probably order it from Hallmark. In the evening, Mama, Daddy, Chase and Nanaw went to Chase's soccer game. The other team looked like third graders instead of second graders because they were all taller than Chase's team. The other team won, 8 to 4, but Chase's team did a good job of trying to keep up with them.

Chase wore his new green winter coat to school on Friday because the zipper came off his black coat, and he can't wear it anymore. After school, Chase and Nanaw went to the car wash. Chase announced to Nanaw that he was going to take a nap and so he did. He closed his eyes right away and slept until they got home from the car wash. Nanaw had set the kinetic sand up on the kitchen counter, and Chase played with the kinetic sand until it was time to go home. He had a great time -- he really loves that kinetic sand. Just before Nanaw took Chase home, he tried on his Jason mask and picked up his dagger. Nanaw took a picture of him, of course. When they got back to Chase's house, Mama said they were going to dinner at Tequila's. Nanaw asked if she could go along, and Mama said of course. When Daddy got home from work, they left for Tequila's. They got to sit in one of the cool booths. Everybody ate lots of chips and salsa and the cheese dip that Mama ordered. Chase got a cheese quesadilla, and Nanaw got a quesadilla with everything but chicken. It was delicious.

Mama brought Chase to Nanaw's house a little early on Thursday morning because once again her friend Becky was coming to Mama's house to ride together to work. Becky was the team member of the year, and they were doing a big celebration for her. Somehow Chase got Nanaw out of the house early, and they were really early at school. When Nanaw picked Chase up from school, she wanted to go to the car wash but Chase didn't want to go. He told her to go tomorrow while he was at school. When they got back to Nanaw's house, Nanaw showed Chase the Santa Jack she bought at Walmart as an early Christmas present for Mama. Chase played Roblox on his laptop while Nanaw worked on creating a Jason game on her computer. Mama was still at work when Nanaw took Chase home so Nanaw didn't get to see her. Somehow the zipper came off Chase's coat on the way home, and he was upset because he said he really likes that coat. Daddy was going to try to fix it for Chase.

Mama brought Chase to Nanaw's house a little early on Wednesday morning because her friend Becky was coming to Mama's house to ride together to work. Chase wore his cool ICS sweatshirt today and looked really cute in it. When Nanaw picked Chase up from school, he forgot his water bottle so Chase and Nanaw went back to his schoolroom to pick it up. Mrs. Meyer's son and daughter were there, and Nanaw waved to them. They've very cute and well-behaved. Chase asked Nanaw if Mama had signed him up for chess, and Nanaw said she didn’t think so but she wished she had because Mrs. Herrmann is the sponsor. Nanaw had wanted to be a volunteer in the chess group and learn how to play chess. But Chase says he doesn't want to do it. Uncle Mike came to visit in the afternoon. He fixed Nanaw's hall light and the downstairs lights. Chase was playing on the laptop, and Nanaw wanted him to rename the Roblox game she was working on but he didn't want to do it. So Nanaw will do it tonight.
