Mama took a half day off from work to take Nanaw to see her surgeon for a follow-up. Nanaw has to go back for another follow-up on March 3. After the doctor's appointment, Mama and Nanaw picked up books for Mama and a movie for Nanaw at the library. Then they went to the Telegraph Road Schnuck's. Mama picked Chase up from school and brought him over to Nanaw's house. Chase and Nanaw did his AR reading -- one of the Humphrey books, which Nanaw loves. Chase is now at reading level 3.8. After reading, Chase and Nanaw played with the kinetic sand. Then they went into the computer lab and played on their computers. Nanaw is very excited that Chase is going to have a sleepover at Nanaw's on Saturday night. For homework, Chase had to write a paragraph about Billie Holiday. Mama said Hunter and Brady got their paragraphs written in class. Mama and Nanaw are wondering what Chase does in class so that he doesn't get his work done. Mama asked Nanaw to help her with teaching Chase his 6, 7 and 8 multiplication facts, and Nanaw said she would be happy to do so.

Chase had another snow day today, and he got to come spend the day with Nanaw. Daddy brought him over to Nanaw's, along with his bag of stuffed animals and his tablet. Daddy took Nanaw's garbage can out, and then Nanaw found out they postponed trash pickup until Wednesday. Chase and Nanaw had a great day together. First, they played with the Lightboard that Nanaw got Chase for Christmas. Chase traced the Among Us figure and then colored it blue. It was very cool, and Chase was delighted with it. After the Lightboard, Chase played on Nanaw's computer and on his computer, and then on his tablet. Nanaw made spaghetti for lunch and Chase really liked it. After lunch, Chase played in the sink with his Mario figures and the fishing things. He played there for a really long time and seemed to have great fun. Finally, he went back to his tablet. He said he was hungry so Nanaw gave him another helping of spaghetti. At a little after five, Mama and Daddy came over to Nanaw's house. Daddy got the snow blower to work, and he cleared off Nanaw's driveway. Mama took a half day off work tomorrow to take Nanaw for her doctor's appointment.

Columbia had a huge snowstorm on Monday so Nanaw didn’t get to see Chase. He has another snow day tomorrow and Daddy is going to bring him over to Nanaw's house on Tuesday morning. Daddy took Grandma Pat for her usual weekly check-up, and her numbers were so low that they kept her in the hospital. The weather forecasters were predicting an additional accumulation of 5 to 9 inches of snow. It's so cold outside that the kids can't play in the snow. Mama sent Nanaw an update on Chase's activities today and a photo of him in the Gascar chair playing with his collection of little hockey helmets. Mama said Chase did his homework in the morning. Then he talked to Brady and Shawn on the tablet -- Nanaw is sure there was a lot of laughing and giggling going on during the conversations. Then he played with his new Mario guys that Nanaw got him for Valentine's days. Next he played with the little hockey helmets in the Gascar chair. Nanaw told Mama how much she loves the way the bug plays with his little toys -- it's so cute.

Mama took Chase to baseball practice at Power House on Sunday afternoon.  Mama said it was very cold there, and Nanaw said she should have brought a blanket, and Mama said she did. Mama invited Nanaw over for Valentine's Day dinner. Mama ordered bacon and sausage pizza, salad, Provel cheese bites, Mozzarella sticks, cinnamon things, a decorate cookie and garlic bread from Imo's. Dinner was at 5 p.m. because it was supposed to start snowing sometime after 6 p.m., and Mama didn't want Nanaw driving on slick streets. Nanaw went over to Chase's house at 4 for some "bug" time. She gave him his Mario figures for his Valentine present, and they played with them. Nanaw really liked the Imo's pizza. Mama said Valentino slept on the sofa with her for awhile last night and then she put him in bed with Chase. After dinner, Chase and Nanaw went into his room to play with his stuffed animals. Mama and Daddy adopted a Puffin from the Zoo for him, and he got a stuffed Puffin with a purple ribbon. They got out Chase's huge stuffed bear and decided he was Valentino's daddy. Nanaw tried to order a Bowser for Chase but couldn't get Amazon to work on her phone so she ordered it at home on the computer. Bowser will be here Wednesday. Mama sent Nanaw home with a piece of cheesecake and a piece of the decorated cookie. Mama gave Nanaw a $25 Amazon gift card and Reese's hearts.

Mama brought Chase over to Nanaw's house on Saturday morning while she went to Schnuck's to do her grocery shopping. Chase and Nanaw played with his all his little figures, including the Mario guys. For Valentine's Day, Nanaw bought him a set of his own Mario guys to keep at home. She also bought him a little blue sports car at Schnuck's and 100 Pokemon cards from Amazon. Chase and Nanaw read a story out of the Answers book and a book on Nanaw's iPad. In the afternoon, good, sweet Mama took Nanaw grocery shopping at Schnuck's. Mama was a such a good guide throughout the store -- she knows where everything is. In the evening, Nanaw went over to Chase's house for dinner and Mama's Mardi Gras celebration. For dinner, they had chili (Nanaw brought along gluten-free noodles so she could have chili mac), cornbread and for dessert, cheesecake with cherry topping. It was Chase's first time to have cheesecake, and he gave it a thumbs-up. He said it tasted like creamy cake. It was a wonderful evening. Everybody (except Sam) went downstairs to watch the hockey game. Chase brought down some toys and played with them in such a cute way.

Today was Chase's Valentine's Day party at school. Mama bought him a Valentine's mask and took a picture of him wearing it for Nanaw. Mama dropped Chase off at Nanaw's house after school, and Nanaw was so happy to see him. He brought his Valentines in, and he and Nanaw went through them. He got lots of candy along with the cards. There was a bag full of goodies from the room mothers. Chase was very excited about his cards and candy. Mama asked him if he gave the card and candy to Ms. Kennedy. Chase said yes and that she liked them. Nanaw asked him about recess, and Chase said they had to stay inside because of the cold and snow. He said he played Prodigy on the Chromebook. He said he really likes the Chromebook. Chase and Nanaw played a game of Go Fish and tied the game with nine pairs each. So Chase says, "You're really coming along with playing Go Fish, Nanaw." LOL They also played Blackjack again and that was fun. Next, the read one of the articles in the Answers book and a book on Nanaw's iPad about a girl who goes to Mars. Then they played with Chase's little figures in the basket. Next, they went into the computer lab and played on the computers. When Mama came to pick up Chase, Nanaw checked with her about various things this weekend: Mama will drop Chase off at Nanaw's house tomorrow morning while she goes to Schnuck's. Tomorrow night Nanaw is invited over for chili and a Mardi Gras party. Sunday night Nanaw is invited over for Valentine's Day and Imo's pizza.

Mama said that Chase had school today but she thinks he wanted another snow day. The school changed the menus around, and they had spaghetti today -- at least it wasn't chicken-fried steak, one of the lunches Chase doesn't like. He takes his lunch when they have that. After school, Mama brought Chase over to visit Nanaw. She hadn't seen him since Monday, and she was so happy to see him. He gave her a hug and a kiss and that made her even happier. Nanaw had activity centers set up for them. First, they played Go Fish on the kitchen counter with Nanaw's Go Fish cards. Nanaw had planned for them to play War after Go Fish but Chase wanted to play Blackjack. He said Daddy taught him Blackjack last night. The little fellow is really good at it and won most of the hands. I realized it's a good game for Chase to play because you have to add up the cards -- voila, addition practice. After the cards tournament, Chase and Nanaw sat on the couch in their reading place and read three articles from the Answers book Next, they went into the computer lab (aka Pawpaw's room). Chase played with the tablet and phone and had a grand time. He had Nanaw get a game for him, of course. Mama came to pick Chase up and said they're having sloppy joes for dinner. He wanted to call his friends Brady and Andrew on Facebook Messenger before dinner, and Mama said he could do that. But he has to do his homework right after dinner. He has his AR reading and 100 math problems.
