Nanaw left early to go pick up Chase in case Quarry Road was closed. But the road was open and the sign said the road closures will begin on Monday, April 19. She had to wait a little while on the parking lot before the boys and girls came out. Chase was excited to tell Nanaw that he took one of the AR tests today and got ten out of ten. Chase also said he wanted to go to the park. They went to Chase's house to pick up the guys and Chase's retainer. He also had Daddy help him find his rollerblades for the park. Brady, Emma and their grandma Debbie were there. The park was a bit torn up, and Debbie and Brady said they were building a  dog park. Nanaw took a picture of the construction (the second picture below) and sent it to Mama, along with the news about the dog park. Mama was happy about the dog park. Chase rollerbladed for awhile and then he and Brady played with the soccer ball. When Chase and Nanaw got to Nanaw's house, Chase did his 20 minutes of AR reading. He had baseball practice tonight and Mama wanted to make sure he had time to get everything done. He has a new book to read: Kittens in the Kitchen. He messed around a little bit and didn't get much of the book read. He and Nanaw looked outside for the Humphrey book Mama ordered' for Nanaw's house but it wasn't there. Chase played on the computer for a little while till it was time to go home -- he had to be there by 5 for practice. The Humphrey book was delivered later, and Nanaw texted Mama to be sure and tell Chase it arrived. Nanaw took a picture of the book -- it's the third picture below.

Chase had an orthodontist appointment on Tuesday afternoon so Mama picked him up from school and then took him to the ortho. After the appointment, Mama brought Chase over to Nanaw's house. Mama and Daddy were going to the Verizon store to get new phones when Daddy got off work, and Chase got to stay with Nanaw. Mama sent along one of Chase's favorites for his dinner -- leftover lazy lasagna from last night's dinner (it's actually ravioli, and Nanaw tasted it and it was delicious). First, Chase did his 20 minutes of AR reading in the book Puppies in the Pantry. Chase messed around a bit during the 20 minutes so they had to extend it a little in order to finish the book. After the AR reading, Chase and Nanaw played baseball in the front yard for about 45 minutes and had lots of fun. They took turns pitching and batting. Chase hit some really long balls over the roof and landing in the back yard. After baseball, they had dinner at the dining room table , watching Chase TV. Then Chase went to play on the computer. Mama and Daddy brought their McDonald's dinner and ate at Nanaw's house. Mama shared her chocolate chip shake with Chase. He asked if he could have on one of his own the next time they went to McDonald's. Chase was happy to go home and pay on his table for half an hour.

Mama told Nanaw a cute story about something she and Chase did. Nanaw had asked Mama if they had a duplicate Humphrey book that could be at Nanaw's house but Mama said they didn't have one. So Mama and Chase ordered a Humphrey book from Amazon that's being delivered to Nanaw's house on Wednesday. Mama said Chase was very excited about ordering the book and especially excited about the book being delivered to Nanaw's house. When Nanaw picked Chase up from school, he said he wasn't going to the park because Brady and Andrew weren't going to be there. They went to Chase's house to get his retainer and the guys. When they were getting in the car, Chase told something to Nanaw unsolicited. He told Nanaw how he got sad on Sunday because the weekend was over. Nanaw asked why he was sad, and he said because he likes spending time with his family on the weekend and it was over. What a sweet boy he is! Then they went to the library to pick up the two dog books that were on request for Chase and also Mama's book she put on request with her new library card. At Nanaw's house, he and Nanaw played on the computer.

On Sunday morning, Mama sent Nanaw the first picture below of Chase all dressed up to go to church. Chase said he saw two of his friends there: Maria and Sean. Later in the day Mama sent the second picture below she got from Facebook's Timehop from six years ago. It shows Chase in his Gascar chair in Mama and Daddy's room with Mama's R2D2 pillow. Mama told Nanaw that when Chase was three years old, he dragged the Gascar chair from the living room to Mama and Daddy's room and put Mama's R2D2 pillow in the chair with him. So cute! The third picture is one Nanaw took of her grapevines and sent to Uncle Mike and Mama. Uncle Mike pruned the grapevines and was afraid they wouldn't bud so Nanaw wanted to show the buds to him. Nanaw went over to Chase's house for dinner -- delicious roast beef and Mama's special rice dish. It was all very good, and Mama gave Nanaw some of the leftover roast beef. Before dinner, Chase and Nanaw played with his new pitching machine; it's really cool. After dinner, they played baseball again. Then Mama came outside and planted her pumpkin seeds in a pot. Then Chase rode his scooter in the field, and Mama and Nanaw walked along with him. Chase jumped on the trampoline for awhile, then they all went inside. Chase and Nanaw straightened out his bed so they could play baseball with the guys.

Mama brought Chase over to Nanaw's house at 9:30 on Saturday morning while she went to the grocery store. It was pouring down rain when they got to Nanaw's house, so Nanaw got out the big golf umbrella and one of the Cardinal umbrellas. She gave the Cardinal umbrella to Mama and used the golf umbrella with Chase. Mama didn't come in -- she just went directly to the grocery store. Nanaw suggested a few things to Chase that they could do but he had a better idea. He wanted to play baseball on Pawpaw's bed with his stuffed animals and Nanaw's stuffed animals. They counted all of them, and there were forty stuffed animals. So Chase and Nanaw each had a baseball team of twenty players. They played two innings, and of course, Chase's team won, five to four. After the second inning, Chase said he wanted to play on the computer so he did. He played a Roblox baseball game, and Nanaw sat with him and watched him play. That's working out quite well. In the afternoon, Mama drove Aunt Becca out to be with her friend. Aunt Becca broke her toe and can't drive.

When Nanaw picked Chase up from school, he was wearing his Blues baseball cap. Chase said he wanted to go to the park. At first, Nanaw said no, but then he changed his mind. At Chase's house, Daddy said he didn't know if they would have pitching practice in the evening. Nanaw told Mama how much she liked the Blues baseball hat, and Mama said it was for a fund raiser for he 8th graders' trip to Washington, D.C. If you paid a dollar, you got to wear a hat to school. Chase and Nanaw packed up the guys and left Chase's house. Nanaw decided to take Chase to Dollar General to see if they had Robux gift cards. They did and Nanaw got $30 worth. This is part of Chase's leftover Christmas money. He was very excited about it and entered the gift card numbers all by himself. Nanaw was very proud. Nanaw and Chase played a baseball game in Roblox; Nanaw's avatar Aspenhof wore a St. Louis Cardinals' uniform but still had her rat on her shoulder. Chase didn't have pitching practice but he and Daddy were going go out in the back yard to do Camwood for batting practice.

When Nanaw picked Chase up from school, she asked if he brought his heavy reading book home, and he said yes. He has a reading test tomorrow and has to study tonight. He got a 3 on his spelling test on Tuesday so he doesn't have to take the Friday spelling test. He showed Nanaw his books from the book order; he was so excited about the books. He told Nanaw that when they got to Nanaw's house, he was going to read his new books. When they stopped at Chase's house on the way to Nanaw's house, Nanaw told Mama what he said about reading his new books and that made Mama happy. At Nanaw's house, they turned on the TV in Chase's room to watch the Cardinals' home opener baseball game. Chase played with his character figures and dinosaurs, making them play a baseball game. Then he got out the big container of marbles and pretty rocks. He had a grand time with everything. Then he decided to play with the kitchen and the food and the dishes. Then he wanted to sit on the futon and read. First, Nanaw had him pick up all the things they'd been playing with -- Nanaw helped because she played too. Chase read some jokes to Nanaw from his new joke book. Next, they went to the computer lab, and Nanaw watched him play a Roblox baseball game on the laptop. Nanaw wants to spend more time with Chase, playing with him, reading with him, and watching him play games and watching videos on the computer. When Nanaw took Chase home, it was raining so Chase and Daddy wouldn't be going outside. But Daddy said they would do Camwood in the garage; Camwood is a system using heavy wooden bats to improve a batter's swing.
