On Thursday morning, Nanaw asked Chase if he wanted any of the guys to ride along when Nanaw took Chase to school. He said no, they were all still sleeping. So Nanaw said okay. LOL When Nanaw picked Chase up from school, she told him he had to give her a hug because Emma and Danica hugged their grandmas every day after school. So Chase hugged Nanaw, which Nanaw really liked. Chase always comes out of school wearing his glasses, and he looks so cute in them. Chase said he had history and math homework, plus his Number the Stars and Spanish projects that are due Monday. When they got to Nanaw's house Chase did his history homework first. Then he did his math homework, When he finished the math, Nanaw gave him the calculator to check his work. He did and said it was all correct. So then Nanaw checked it with the calculator, and Chase was right that it was all correct. For his snack, Chase had chocolate milk, a cheese stick, some fiesta cheese and the rest of his Cheez-Its and Goldfish left over from yesterday. In the evening, Mama said Chase finished his Spanish project and submitted it early -- it wasn't due until Monday.

Wednesday morning was the first morning in a long while that Mama brought Chase over to Nanaw's house early, and Nanaw took Chase to school. When Nanaw picked Chase up, she told him they had to go to Walgreens to pick up a prescription. She said they would go through the Drive-Thru. Chase said it was okay as soon as he heard they were going through the Drive-Thru and that Nanaw had brought her old phone along for him to play with. He said he had homework in two areas -- his Spanish project and his Number the Stars project. Both projects are due on Monday. Chase said he didn't bring his Number the Stars papers home so he couldn't work on that. He said he wanted to work on the Spanish project that evening with Mama. Nanaw told Chase that she found an M&M ice cream sandwich in the freezer that she would give him for his snack. So then he asked if could have an Icee also, and Nanaw gave him both of the treats. Then he asked for a bag of original Cheez-Its and a bag of Goldfish. He only ate part of the snacks and asked Nanaw to put them in little plastic bags so he could have them tomorrow.

Mama took Chase to school so Nanaw could sleep in on Tuesday morning. Good Mama! When Nanaw went to pick Chase up, Cole's mom gave her a belated birthday present for Chase. They were in Mexico so Cole couldn't go to Chase's birthday party. They gave Chase a magnificent Blues pillow, so soft and snuggy. Chase really liked it. He said it was shaped like a huge puck. On the way home, Chase and Nanaw stopped at Chase's house to pick up his Occulus VR. He wanted to try out the new Star Wars Game Nanaw bought for him. At Nanaw's house, Chase did his math homework, then his English homework. He didn't want Nanaw to check his homework so Nanaw started to call Mama to get her to tell him to let Nanaw check his homework. Mama didn't answer right away. Chase changed his mind and said Nanaw could check it. Unfortunately, he got several of the math problems wrong and several of the English sentences. So Nanaw had him fix his work. After all the homework was done, he played with the VR. He said the Star Wars game needed more space than Nanaw's living room so he played his hockey game.

On Monday afternoon, Daddy and Chase went ice skating at Kennedy Park. After that, Nanaw came over to visit Chase and watch him do his VR. Daddy set up Nanaw's phone so she could watch all his VR activities. Daddy bought him a new hockey game, and Chase was very excited about it. Chase tried to pay Daddy the $3.00 the game cost but Daddy didn't want his money. While Nanaw was there, Chase played the hockey game and two of the job games -- gourmet chef making pizza and auto mechanic. Nanaw wanted to buy Chase the Star Wars game -- Vader Immortal -- Episode III-- and Daddy set up her phone for her. She wasn't sure the game was charged to her credit card so she'll keep checking -- it won't allow her to log in right now. If the game wasn't charged to her credit card, she'll give Daddy the $10.00 that it cost. When he was done playing VR, Chase played knee hockey. He also took a selfie for Days of Chase. For dinner, Mama made easy tacos. In the evening, Chase and Daddy went to hockey practice. In the last two pictures, Chase is showing off his Sidney Crosby jersey he got for Christmas.

Chase had a hockey game on New Year's Day afternoon so Nanaw went over to visit him and play with him before that. Nanaw wanted to play his new Magneta hockey game with him because she hadn't played it before but Chase didn't want to play that. He wanted to play with the guys on his bed so that's what they did. First, they played hurricane with lots of rain and wind. Then Chase buried the stuffed animals under the covers. Mama had told them not to mess up Chase's bed because she had just straightened it up. But Nanaw thinks they may have messed it up. Chase rested for a while, and Nanaw took a picture of him where he looked like he was sleeping. He stayed up till midnight on New Year's Eve, then still got up early, at 7:15 on New Year's Day. So he must have been really tired. Then he decided he wanted to go downstairs with Nanaw and have her watch him play with the Meta Quest 2. They borrowed Daddy's phone so Nanaw could see what he was doing. First, Chase did the car mechanic game in the job simulator app. Then he did the gourmet chef game where he made pizza. Nanaw likes watching what he's doing on the phone on the app. She tried to get the app on her phone but couldn't figure out how to do it. So she's going to have to have Daddy set it up for her.

Mama had a scaled-back New Year's Eve celebration because of Covid. Nanaw was her only guest. As her contribution to the night's festivities, Nanaw brought potato chips, onion dip, shrimp for Daddy and Nanaw (Mama and Chase don't like shrimp), and grape juice for Nanaw and Chase. Mama fixed all kinds of delightful and delicious appetizers. She fixed Smokies in BBQ sauce, meatballs, crescent-wrapped Smokies, Rotel, pretzel bites, cheese bites and toasted ravioli. Nanaw had two servings of cookies for her dessert. Chase did a lot of playing before the feature of the evening. He played knee hockey by himself. Then he played with his VR headset. He's really good about finding ways to play and entertain himself. He seems to like it when he has an audience for his activities. The feature of the evening was watching the Top Gun Maverick movie. Wonder of wonders, even Chase watched it. Nanaw's theory was that the jet fighter chases reminded him of video games so he liked watching them. In the end, everybody stayed up till midnight, even though Mama and Daddy said they were going to bed before that. Everybody liked the Top Gun movie, although Mama said it could never be better than the original Top Gun. They watched the ball fall in Times Square -- twice. Then Nanaw went home and they went to bed. The first picture below is Nanaw's Christmas train table.

Here's what Nanaw posted on Facebook about Chase and her visit to the Train House: "On Friday, Chase and Nanaw visited the train display at the Museum of Transportation on its last day in 2022. They did the scavenger hunt again, and Chase remembered the location of all the items from their visit the day after Thanksgiving. They said hello and Happy New Year to old friends Dave the engineer and Lynn at the front desk. Of course, Chase's favorite had to be the snacks at the end of their visit: popcorn, pretzel, Spider Man ice cream bar, and a juice box." Mama said it was okay to take Chase back to Nanaw's house for a lunch of Lazy Lasagna. Then Mama said Chase could stay till 5 o'clock. Chase had a great time playing on the phone, the tablet and the computer. He had hockey practice tonight. Nanaw is going over to Chase's house for New Year's Eve and dinner/snacks tomorrow night.
