On Saturday morning, Chase had a hockey lesson. In the afternoon, Aunt Becca and Uncle Stan came over with the 1/4 of a cow for Mama and Daddy's freezer that they got from Uncle Chris. They got to see Uncle Stan’s new Chevy Silverado truck. Then Chase, Mama and Daddy went shoe shopping for Chase at Shoe Carnival. Chase got some cool red shoes for school and some cool gray slip-on shoes for play. After shoe shopping, they went to Fitz’s for dinner. Chase had pretzel bites and two of Mama’s onion rings. Nobody knew Chase likes onion rings. Mama had a pizza burger, and Daddy had a BLT with a fried egg. Nanaw came over to visit in the evening. They played with the two new guys Mama got from the Zoo. One is a lemur who’s Larry’s twin that Chase named Simon. The other one is named Leo, and it's some kind of animal Nanaw can't pronounce. They also played disasters with all the guys. Mama and Daddy went outside to have a fire in the fire pit so Chase and Nanaw went outside also. Chase practiced his pitching and did really well. Then Nanaw went home to make spaghetti for her dinner.

It was raining on Friday morning so Chase and Nanaw couldn’t go for their morning walk. So they went downstairs and walked on the treadmill and rode the exercise bike. They also did the list of Nanaw’s exercises. Chase had brought the bag of guys downstairs with them and he put them in the playpen and played with them. When they went upstairs, Chase watched Captain Underpants in the computer lab, and Nanaw gave him some snacks. Nanaw took a nap and it turned out to be a longer nap than usual. Chase got hungry and wanted lunch so he fixed some Mac and cheese. When Nanaw got up, she was a so proud of Chase for fixing his lunch. She gave him more food and desserts. Mama picked Chase up at four to go to the eye doctor to practice the contacts. In the evening, Chase and Mama went to another baseball team swim party. They had pizza and had a lot of fun.

Once again, on Thursday morning it was raining. So Chase and Nanaw did the back-up plan. First, they went downstairs and walked on the treadmill and rode the exercise bike. The first picture below is Chase running the red remote-controlled car on the treadmill. Next, they did their exercises. When it stopped raining, they went outside and played with the remote-controlled cars that Chase brought with him today. Thursday was quite a busy day. Nanaw had a doctor's appointment in the morning, and she took Chase to his house while she was gone. After Nanaw picked him up, Chase and Nanaw went to the library to turn him Chase's reading club paperwork and pick up the ticket to the Magic House. Nanaw registered Mama, Chase and Nanaw for Sunday evening on August 13th. Chase wanted to check out a Captain Underpants book but they were all checked out so they put one on request. In the afternoon, they had an abbreviated time for school because Nanaw had another appointment and she had to take Chase home early. He was very happy that he didn't have any sports practices or appointments on Thursday evening.

On Wednesday morning, it rained for a long time so Chase and Nanaw couldn't go on their walk. Nanaw came up with the idea for them to take turns walking on the treadmill, riding on the exercise bike, and doing Nanaw's exercises. The first picture below is Chase walking Lars the lemur on the treadmill. Chase has decided Lars and Tee Tee are his emotional support animals -- LOL. Chase and Nanaw had fun doing all their activities and got a lot of steps on their Fitbits. After the exercise routine, Chase and Nanaw went out to do RC cars in the driveway. Nanaw likes the one Chase brought yesterday and today. It's a small one that reminds Nanaw of WALL-E. It whirls and twirls and falls down but is able to right itself and keep going. Chase did a baseball thing downstairs, along with the members of his baseball team's text chat group. They all threw a tennis ball against a wall and caught it, 30 times, Chase and Nanaw went downstairs to do it, and Chase actually threw the ball and caught it fifty times. School went well but was a little shorter than usual because Chase had to go home for an appointment. He had soccer practice tonight. He has soccer practice on Mondays and Wednesdays, and baseball practice on Tuesdays.

On their Tuesday morning walk, Chase and Nanaw took the remote-controlled car with them. It was great fun. The first picture below is Tee Tee riding on the RC car. This time, the car made the whole trip because Chase charged it all night. Chase had brought another RC over to Nanaw's house, and when they got back from their walk, they had a practice demolition derby in the driveway. Nanaw had fun trying to crash into Chase's car. Tuesday was sort of a busy day because of the cleaning lady coming. Nanaw put everything away, and then she and Chase went downstairs. Chase wore his glasses all day while he was watching TV to see if they helped him not have a headache. He said he didn't have a headache, and that's a good thing. While they were doing school, Chase kept stopping to check his phone about all the baseball trade news. He and Mama were texting back and forth about the trades. It was so fun and interesting. Mama came to pick up Chase at 3:20 to take him to the orthodontist. At 6 p.m., he had his first ICS soccer team practice at Oerter Park.

On Monday morning, Chase and Nanaw waited till after breakfast to go for their walk because it was in the sixties. Chase played with his tube toys and joined them all together, as shown in the first two pictures. As they've done in the past few days, Chase and Nanaw had breakfast at the kitchen counter, rather than Chase eating by the computer. Nanaw is very happy about the no-device experiment. It's really good for Chase and helps Chase and Nanaw do things together and have good times together. They did an unusual thing on their walk: Chase took along his remote-controlled car, and running it was lots of fun. Unfortunately, Chase didn't have enough time to charge it completely so halfway through the walk, the car stopped running. Then, he had to carry it in the guys' bag with Lars. So he's charging it overnight tonight so it can work for the whole walk tomorrow. He's also bringing another remote-controlled car tomorrow. Chase watched Oddballs and Captain Underpants before school. School went well, with Chase doing a great job on math and English and state capitals. When Nanaw took Chase home, she told Mama he'd been saying for a few days that he had a headache. Mama is going to have him take his glasses with him and wear them when he watches TV.

Chase and Daddy went to church on Sunday morning, before Chase's major, great Sunday adventure. One of the boys on Chase's baseball team was having his birthday party at Raging Rivers, a water park near Grafton, Illinois. Chase and Mama spent more than four hours there and had a great time. Mama even went on some of the activities. Chase said there were four slides, and he went on all of them. He said there was also a swirling pool. Mama said Chase really wore himself out. On the way home, they stopped at Jack in the Box in Collinsville, Illinois and got Tiny Tacos for Chase and Mama and tacos and a hamburger for Daddy. Mama said if she'd known Nanaw's diet was over, she would have gotten Nanaw some Tiny Tacos also. Well, maybe next time. When Mama and Chase got home from their adventure, Nanaw came over to visit. Chase and Nanaw played storms and disasters in his room. They have two new ones they hadn't played before -- volcano and earthquake. They also invented hail bullets, which Chase really liked. At 7:30, Chase was going to call his friend Hunter and play Roblox on the phone.
