The ER put Nanaw in the hospital at St. Clare on Tuesday evening so Nanaw didn't see Chase for a few days. On Wednesday, Mama reported that Chase got 6 out 8 points on the AR test so now he has some points. Nanaw is going to help out with the AR reading, making sure Chase doesn't select books that are too long or too hard to read for AR. Uncle Mile sent more Little House siding photos on Wednesday. On Thursday, Chase forgot to turn in the yellow sock for the school's fundraising project, and Daddy made him go back into school with it. Nanaw does that all the time but Mama has never made him go back in school for anything. Friday was Chase's class's field trip to a lot of Illinois historic spots. The most interesting one was the Abraham Lincoln museum. It should have been closed because the government is shut down but evidently the state of Illinois has some special kind of arrangement to keep it open. The went to the Governor's mansion and the Old State Capitol, the Illinois State Capitol, the Lincoln Tomb at the Oak Ridge Cemetery, the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, and the Pizza Ranch. Chase was excited that he got to sit with Cole, one of his best friends, on the bus ride to and from the places they visited.
