Chase had a major adventure on Saturday. He went with Daddy, Mama and Nanaw to "Touch the Truck," an event at the Shrine featuring all kinds of vehicles that children could climb on. Jackson and his Mama and Daddy and grandparents were there also. Chase and Jackson seemed to have a super good time. They climbed into a fire truck, an ambulance, a police car, a gator, a Hummer, big 18-wheelers and lots of others. But probably the best thing was the first thing they did: riding horses. Chase rode on a horse named Midnight, and Jackson rode on Clementine. They wore riding helmets and looked wonderful. Chase looked like a proper English rider in his helmet and sitting up so straight and tall – very cute. After "Touch the Truck," everyone went to Wendy’s for lunch, and the boys sat next to each other and shared their food.

Today, Chase went to the bank, the library and the train store. He also got to see Uncle Mike. Chase’s first adventure was to go to the bank with Nanaw, and he was a social little fellow there. When they walked in, Chase said "Hi." He got a lollipop from the teller and said "Thank you," and he seemed very interested in the little solar toys that moved because of the light. (Later that day, Nanaw went to Dollar Tree and bought two of them for him.) When Chase and Nanaw left the bank, Chase said, "Bye." Next Chase and Nanaw went to the Frisco Train store where Chase played on the train tables and seemed to have a really good time. Nanaw bought him a train named Diesel, two Thomas board books and a special piece of track for his wooden train table set. There were lots of children at the store today, many more than the other day. After leaving the train store, Chase and Nanaw went to the library where they checked out a Thomas book and Chase played with the games and the puzzles. When they drove into Nanaw’s subdivision, they met Uncle Mike, who was just leaving Nanaw’s house after cutting Nanaw’s grass. Uncle Mike came back to Nanaw’s to visit. Chase seemed very happy to see Uncle Mike and asked him to play trains so Uncle Mike went with Chase into his room to see all his trains. When Chase went home, he and Nanaw forgot to take Tee-Tee so Nanaw returned him in the evening while Chase, Mama and Daddy were at Aunt Becca and Uncle Stan’s house. Mama sent Nanaw a picture of Chase after they got home, holding Tee-Tee and drinking his glass of milk before bed.

Chase’s adventure today was the weekly shopping trip to Walmart with Nanaw. Yesterday Mama bought a Percy train for Chase at Walmart and told Nanaw about the new Thomas area in the store. So Chase and Nanaw went to see what it was all about and ended up buying Harold the Helicopter and Spencer the Train – much to Chase’s delight. He held onto them the whole time and even took them home with him in the afternoon to have a sleepover. When Chase and Nanaw got home, Chase played with trains in his room for awhile and then had lunch. Nanaw promised Chase that they would go downstairs and play trains after his nap. And surprisingly enough, Chase took a nice, long nap without much fussing at all. Then after Chase’s nap, he and Nanaw went downstairs to play with trains. In the evening, Nanaw went downstairs and discovered that sometime during the play time, Chase had dismantled the train track set-up from Jane at Mama’s work. So now Nanaw has to put it all together again, if she can figure out how. Daddy was the one who assembled it the first time – Nanaw may have to call on him again.

Chase’s adventure today was going to Barnes & Noble to play with the Thomas table and maybe go to story time. Mama had the day off so she and Uncle Mike could go to the Cardinals’ baseball game. At B&N, Chase seemed to have a great time playing with the trains on the Thomas table and being around the other boys and girls. To Nanaw’s surprise, at 10:30 when it was time for story time to start, Chase started walking toward the story area so Nanaw followed behind. Chase had never voluntarily gone to story time. He seemed to have a good time but didn’t seem to be able to sit still. Miss Christine gave the children two cookies each, and Chase said they were "de-wishes." The boys and girls did a craft project with a greeting card, buttons, a smiley face and using a glue stick. Chase never did take a nap today – he chitter-chattered in his bed for almost two hours, and then Nanaw got him up. When Mama and Uncle Mike got home from the ballgame, Nanaw took Chase home. Mama had bought a Percy train and a set of Thomas the Train bedding for Chase. Mama brought a "de-wishes" steak quesadilla from Hooters for Nanaw.

Chase had a major train day today. First thing in the morning, Chase and Nanaw went to the Museum of Transportation – Chase’s favorite place in the world. He played with the Thomas tables and wanted Nanaw to play with him so she did. He went from table to table and seemed to enjoy himself immensely. Chase and Nanaw rode on the red train twice and on the blue train (the tram, actually) once. Chase visited the circus train room twice and spent a lot of time running around the train display. They also explored the trains in the train shed, and Chase seems to love running up and down the aisles in the train cars. On their way out, they went through the red caboose, and Chase once again played with the old-fashioned typewriter. After leaving the "train house," Nanaw decided to once again try to find the train place in Valley Park. One of the mothers in the Thomas table room gave her directions. And they found it! It’s right next door to Carol House and is called the Frisco Train Store. It’s totally awesome. It has a huge train table in the middle of the store, and there are four other train tables the size of the ones at the Transportation Museum. Chase was absolutely delighted and seemed to have a wonderful time. Nanaw bought Chase a Thomas lighthouse that lights up and makes boat and foghorn noises – very cute. Chase and Nanaw will definitely return to the Frisco Train Store again soon.

Nanaw went to visit Chase on Monday and to have dinner at his house. Mama prepared a delicious roast beef dinner, with "dee-wishes" twice-baked potatoes. Before dinner, Nanaw played trains with Chase and they watched a Thomas the Train movie. As usual, Chase didn’t eat any of the regular dinner so Mama gave him other things to eat. He did eat dessert, of course – carrot cake cupcakes – yummy. After dinner, everybody watched "The Hungry Caterpillar," and it was so cute to see how fascinated Chase was with it. He held on to his stuffed caterpillar and talked along with the video.
