Mama and Daddy were both off work on Thursday. Mama told Nanaw that they went to Merz on Main for breakfast; Chase had a big pancake and bacon. Mama took the day off because she was going to the baseball game with Uncle Mike. Uncle Mike came over to Nanaw's house first and cut her grass and neighbor Dan's grass. He also put wood chips around Nanaw's new bushes, and they look great. Mama brought Chase over about 10 o'clock. They went on adventures to Dollar Tree and Walmart. At Dollar Tree, Chase selected a chef's hat, a chef's apron, some plastic vegetables, and popsicles for Saturday's baseball practice. Next, they went to Walmart for Nanaw's grocery shopping and also to buy a $20 present for Chase. It ended up being two presents that together cost about $25: a red ball thing that Nanaw still doesn't know what it is and a Minecraft Lego game. Chase and Nanaw played kitchen for awhile, and that was fun. At the end of the day, they played school but that didn't go too well. Chase was sort of antsy and wanted to go home. So from now on, Nanaw will have school first thing in the morning. When Nanaw took Chase home, Uncle Mike was still there. They got pizza and bread sticks from Pizza Hut, Chase's favorite pizza place, so he was very happy.

Chase and Nanaw had an unusual day on Wednesday. Nanaw decided it was time to clean up Chase's room and clean out the closet there. So she started bringing Chase's toys into the living room. He was absolutely delighted with this. He went from toy to toy, playing with things he hadn't played with for a long while. He spent a lot of time on the Etch a Sketch. He also played with his toy soldiers, lining them up in different groups. He also put the marbles all over the living room floor. He started to play with his many containers of slime in the living room but Nanaw had him go into the kitchen to play with it. He had two bomb pops and popcorn as snacks and his regular breakfast and lunch. He's eating more than he used to, and that's really good because he's so active and sort of thin. Chase and Nanaw didn't play school until late in the afternoon, and that didn't go well. Chase wanted to watch Chase TV and didn't want to read or do the flash cards. From now on, Nanaw will make sure that they play school first thing in the morning, downstairs in the school room, without the TV on.

Chase and Nanaw played school downstairs first thing in the morning. Chase did well with all the reading and flashcards and addition workbook. When school was over, they went to the Magic House, at Chase's request. They got there about 10 and stayed till noon. By the time they left, the Magic House had gotten quite crowded. Chase visited a lot of his favorite places. He went first to the hockey area and put on the goalie gear; Nanaw took pictures and sent them to Mama. He also visited the water area, the grocery store, the library, the Tapescape, the fort area, the many displays on the second floor by the football area, and the ball area. He had a great time and was good about leaving when the time came. Chase had a baseball game on Tuesday evening and was excited because he got to be the catcher in the second inning. Nanaw took pictures of the "little Yadi" and sent them to Mama. The exciting thing of the evening was that Mrs. Herrmann came to the game. She had an ICS order to deliver to Mama, and she also wanted to see the game. Chase was beyond excited to see his beloved teacher. When Nanaw told him who was there, he said, "Oh My Gosh!" It was so cute. She gave him a hug, and he hugged her back.

Chase had a major adventure with Daddy on Monday -- he and Daddy played golf at Triple Lakes. Chase said he won because he had the "leastest" score. Daddy told Nanaw he let Chase keep score and that was probably why Chase won. Chase told Nanaw he had lots of fun playing golf with Daddy. They rode in a golf cart and after the game, Chase had a Sprite. Daddy brought Chase over to Nanaw's house about 2 p.m. Nanaw was having phone problems so they went to the Apple Store again. After the Apple Store, they went to Des Peres Park. Chase had remembered about the water area at the park near the Apple Store, and asked if they could go there. So Nanaw brought along his swimming suit and towels. When they got to the water area, the water was no longer on -- it was after 4 p.m. Nanaw asked one of the moms there about the water, and she said the water had gone off about an hour before. But there was a big puddle of water and several children splashing in it so Chase still had a good time, even without the water spraying around.

On Sunday morning, Daddy and Chase went to church. In the afternoon, Daddy, Mama and Chase went to the baseball game. The first picture below is a cool baseball one that Mama made and posted on Instagram. Go, Mama! In the evening, Nanaw came over to visit. Chase was excited to show Nanaw his new comforter and sheets for his bed that Mama bought online from Kohl's. The comforter and sheets have lots of soccer balls on them, and Chase likes them a lot. While Mama was fixing a delicious dinner of bacon wraps, Chase and Nanaw went to Chase's room to play school on the school houseboat -- with the new soccer comforter. Chase was excited because after dinner, they were all going on an ice cream adventure to Marie's Ice Cream Shoppe -- Nanaw's treat. Chase had been looking forward to it and talking about it for days. At Marie's, Chase got his Superman ice cream in a cup. Nana got a large hot fudge sundae with whipped cream and pecans -- huge and yummy. They all played checkers, and Chase and Daddy won -- which made Chase very happy.

Nanaw went to visit Chase on Saturday morning before she went out to the little house. She brought along Chase's workbooks, flashcards and books to read. Mama went to Schnuck's to do the weekly grocery shopping. Nanaw and Chase went into Chase's room to have "school" on Chase's bed -- which they're calling the "school houseboat" -- very funny. Chase did well with the reading paragraph and answering the questions. His favorite thing after answering the questions is to check the answer key in the back of the book to see if he got the answers right. He does the same thing with the addition flashcards -- he turns them over to check the correct answer. Chase and Nanaw took turns reading a page of Hop on Pop, the Dr. Seuss book Chase checked out at the library on Friday. They also read half of the Cat the Splat ice cream book. In the afternoon, Chase and Daddy went out to Wentzville to visit Grandma Pat. Chase took along his swimming suit and his floaties because after visiting Grandma Pat, they went to Uncle Chris's house to go swimming and jump on the trampoline. Mama stayed home to work on her closet.

Chase had another adventure-filled day on Friday. Mama had the day off from work, and Daddy is still off -- he goes back to work on Monday, June 11. Mama wanted to go to Suson Park for Farm Friday so that's what they did. Mama paid Chase's registration and put the blue wristband on him. The first thing they did was take a hayride around the park. It was very hot outside, and pretty soon everyone was sweating. Next, they went to visit the animals. Mama was disappointed because there were any sheep for her to visit. Everybody liked the big, black turkey who had his feathers all puffed out. Under protest, Chase went on a pony ride and ended up having fun. Mama got a really good picture of him on the pony, whose name was Honey. Then, for whatever reason, Chase decided it was time to go home, so they did. Mama, Nanaw and Chase then went on a shopping adventure. First, they went to Sears and Mama bought Chase a Blues shirt. Then they went to Schnuck's, Walmart and the Telegraph Road library. Aunt Becca and Uncle Stan were coming over for a grilled chicken dinner. Mama invited Nanaw to come for grilled chicken wings but Nanaw had to go grocery shopping.
